For those interrested check out some info about the RBN (Russian Business Network) which was organized around an ISP in St. Petersburg, this was a really big operation.
This report lacks some detailled information about the ISP, eg which AS are involved, etc, so one can just react and put them into a DROP List or do an AS-Path finltering. If its an ISP with known AS, you (your ISP) can react.
Although it sounds quite reasonable for basic communications, I have no idea, how easy access to HAM radio is granted in T6 now, my last information was that is was disallowed for "security reasons" by the mil two years ago.
As you metioned, phone patches are not really state of the art for private communications. I'm sure you can be lucky, your country spent so much money in mil equipment, so hopefully also your private communication issues can be handled well...
We need something similar for society. Every year, your employer, doctor, family and friends should send an appraisal to the government. The bottom 10% of society could be put to sleep. Just watch productivity grow! Think of the savings on welfare, health costs etc.
Yeah, great... And those beeing used to do nothing and now get the job will do it better?
And you may suddenly stand in the rain, loose your chance to survive in society will see the unexperienced bring down the company...
Low taxes, homelessness, drug addition, alcoholism eliminated! Only the wealthy would reproduce. Everyone constantly vigilant striving to improve!
What is this? Darwins selection based on the "Free Market" as the one and only orientation?
I strongly beleive in social responsibility for others in form of a health system, care for the old and so on. We are not animals, we are a socially communicating and (hopefully) responsible and caring species...
BTW: Your statement that alcohol and drug abuse would be eliminated is pure bullsh1t. Or havent you seen anything like tis even on the top 10% list you mentioned?
Your point regarding the holocaust is that you dont know or you have simply not understood. This law is a result of the situation around WW2 and was originally demanded by the jewish representants to make it impossible/harder for the "old nazis" to deny the things they have made.
This is the compete opposite from the situation in turkey, there it is forbidden to talk about a genocide, in Austria and Germany it is forbidden to deny it.
(And one last point regarding the Austrian elections, how would you define a neo-fascist? Arent people like GW 2nd and so also just fascists? I am from Austria and I dont like the result of these elections, but I'd rather accept some guy "fighting" for an austrian identity than a guy bombing in the rest of the world, and this "in the name of god"... Thats what I'm more afraid of than people electing as a symbol of protest, and thats the case here...)
Which hardware they use should not matter as they are talking about "lag increased +16%" (which makes me assume they are using the same hardware for all OS). A worse mouse (in)precision is astounding, it semms things get worse instead of cleaner..
Security by obscurity ? If its really only RFID with a number sent out, then the system is broken by design. If you check out possibilities, a public key system identifying with the "house PKI" would be about the only way to get along in a somehow safe way.
As the space weather has a very big influence on HF propagation, information services about it have been available for many years. Maybe thats one of the few groups who really use such information on a day to day basis, but at least we are quite aware of the problems wich can occur during a solar storm....
Working for a radio station in Austria, we have about the same rules here (90 days, real airplay), and we saw it as quite a pain originally. We kept the records on mp3s wich got deleted after the "holdtime". One day we got sued from a company that a moderator had said "offensive things" about them and at court the mp3s were the key to show that this wasnt true. Since then we see this also as a mechanism to be able to show what really got broadcast in situations like this.
Having the same problems for HAM operators, they tried to stop the BPL Test in Austria.
The ministry responsible for this stated that the HAM services in emergency cases are more important and stopped the testlicense.
Heres the
Press Info (sorry, its a PDF) from OEVSV, the Austrian HAM assosiation.
I know some applications running on OVMS besause of the possibility to attach and manage loads of serial devices via lat to it. One is running a testsystem for medical instruments, the data of about 300 tested systems is managed via one system and that without any problem since setup.
The next question is, "Where does the router get the time, and how often does it sync?" I imagine that routers have to be very accurate with regards to time, but I don't have access to any documents.
watching your peers using ntpq also gives you the timesource of the server youre getting the time from. If you add more than one source, youll notice inaccurate timeservers quite obviously.
even paranoids i know allow any and all traffic out of any given subnet, but they heavily firewall incoming traffic.
Nope. Having mostly WinXX systems giving Users the possibility to install soft, spy or whateverware in the internal network, filtering outbound traffic is important. I have found some Virii/Malware just by wondering about unusual traffic from the inside and I strongly beleive this situation not only applies for me.
Yes, it seems to be the same. At least here (Austria) UPC had big troubles with broadcast storms resulting from people using this stuff and they updated the modemfirmware. A second change the current firmwarerelease brought was the deactivation of the bootrequest on the LAN-Side wich also was a source of tuned connections.
It would not be bad to find out, what organisation / country / people are behind this before shouting out and asking for war. Fighting fire with fire meens bringing other families / people / countries in the same situation you are now - and noone profits anything from it.
Well, it seems as if it's time to change to other services which allready are available. OpenNap is an alternative as long as copyright enforcement or legal troubles allow networks like this to survive, after that its time for freenet - if this concept may survive.
when you've got online media ? EG the german IX and CT magazines are available also on CD , especially in sectors which are stuffed up with online publications I dont beleive his realls makes sense (also from an economic perspective).
Generally the question how stuff like magazines like this one will act in the future stays quite open for me - will it go towards information payment or free information availability ?
I dont know how much market share TL has (but at least not much here in Europe, too), but it seems as if every company offering a Linux distribution wants to profit from the Stock hypes on (nearly all) IT Companies. I really dont think that most of these companies (except the really big distros) have made enough "intellectual input" to their product that would be worth investing in...

Is this an acronym for "People Eating Tasty Animals" ?

That much money must involve Sympathy for the Devil ;-)
They have a bavarian Prince named Loewenstein? Is that a normal Bavarian royal surname?
Yes, see The History of the royal house of bavaria for information about this family.
They _are_ accessible allready, just go ahead !
Meanwhile the directory is accessible, the mirrors aren't ready yet.
Yes, it seems to be the same.

Best wishes to both of you, if she doesn't want, maybe all slashdotters together might convnce her ;-)
Best wishes !!

its released as open source / with copyleft; everything else wouldnt really fit the story ;-)
