English wasn't made. No comparable entity has ever been made. Man was created a speaker of language which facilitated expression of his soul. And Man made a tower which resulted in several languages which evolved into many, many more, or all languages just evolved along with the speakers from nothingness over a looooong amount of time. Depending on your religion.
The model is wrong. From the summary it looks like the button will associate with given set of branded products being configurable only in size and quantity. That is fail for me, because my brand is always best price for acceptable quality, which varies. But if and when these buttons become generic and completely configurable, perhaps making use of some sort of rule writing mechanism, to where I can point it intellegently to anything in the Amazon marketplace, then I've found my first use for the now only fantastic internet of things.
When you make tools for people to use to make their life easier or better, that's a win. If you make a tool to tie people to your brand (Fire Phone), branded button, that's fail.

What he doesn't want to do is be party to the issue, because he believes in something super-wordly which establishes a system of right and wrong.(Only in modern times has believing in nothing become the height of intellectual attainment but throught human history and still today if you can look beyond the press that belief has gone hand in hand with worldly knowledge. And the business owner is willing to forgo business to accomodate his beliefs.

When we as a society conluded that we cannot employ common sense to indentify and negotiate grey areas (BECAUSE THERE ARE NO GREY AREAS!!!) like the difference between a religious wedding service provider declining to service to same-sex 'marriages' and a coffee shop refusing service to a same-sex 'couple,' people decided to legislately protect their human agency, and we may well wind up the worse for it.
For the history to shed any light we'd need to know why cell phone, laptop earlier adopeters were given a hard time. I don't remember cell phone ealier adopters getting grief and cant speak to laptops in classrooms but that's just me. Seriouse question: what technology is being made portable with these glasses because I am at a loss?

It's good to know that things are going so swimmingly that every popular initiative, whether by coporations or by government need center on woman and minorities. If focuse were spent on improving things for people then woman and minorities would benefit because they are people too.

It's a function of aptitude, knowledge and experience. Having it as a hobby may correlate well with those inputs but it sure is necessary (or necessarily sufficient).
It's actually a trade-off in some cases. The way I see it that learning by doing gives a different type of knowledge than learning from a book. I could have hobbied my way into developing Django applications but that would have cost the books I read on networking. I could pick Django up more easily on the job than I could the low-level stuff. Same for learning C or C++ or Assembler -- I don't know if I will ever use them but I do know that it opened up doors of learning and perhaps doing that would be closed to me had I spent the time hobbying together some app, a better one of which I could just download, using some higher level tool.
The Job required I learn Java and Swing and so I picked up a book and learned during a lunch hour (I was working support at the time). The more deep and broad your basic knowledge is, the more areas you can pinpoint on when the time comes.
We could do far better than Bibi (Feiglin comes to mind) but we could also do far, far, worse which is exactly why he is likely to be the next pm after the elections. But slashdot leans left so yeah of course there is 'a general concensus' cause reality tilts left dontchyaknow
I had not thought about prior purchases. I don't buy any media but yeah if the purchases are locked down and if they transfer up through software/hardware upgrades then that is significant.

It's never too late for a company the size and quality of msft to break into the phone market. Users are stopping to care about phone os brands (as it should be) and the market is constantly changing and progressing. It's an expanding market, as the phone has room to grow into the space currently occupied by larger form factor machines. It's also impossible for a software platform vendor to ignore mobile because eventually the mobile will grow into union with the desktop (think the high end surface) and if you don't have any foothold you lose those user and also, perhaps more importantly, the institutional experience to compete in the new iteration of the market. Zune, on the other hand, was bound to be eclipsed by more inclusive devices (think about the long dead ipod). Zune wasn't a game changer, the phone certainly is.
Finally, I can't think of one competitive advantage Apple or Google has that would constitute a moat protecting their current lock on the market (though google services might be close, but then again Iphone is doing OK.
The phone market is ripe for disruption but you have to be a big boy like msft or maybe (please, please) canonical to get in the game.
With the two significant platforms losing their cool appeal it becomes easier and easier to break the mold and try something different. They simply need to execute and they will gain a more than laughable marketshare. And if they do ever manage to bring the experience to where I can interchange with the desktop, I would prefer the microsoft platform. They have a ton of cash and competitive assets, but the most imortant ingredeint is that the iphone has just become a phone. Further, I think that as time goes on, more and more users will come to realize that outside of your standard file viewing and social apps, the others are useful to only a very small subset of phone users, particularly powerusers who like to tweak things and people who just like to play with thier phones.
That all said, I'm really hoping Ubuntu gets it act together on phone and puts something along the previous mentioned lines that I can use along side a Debian desktop, because the future is looking less and less bright for users of proprietary systems.
I also wish we get to the point, where phones are using the same architecture as the desktops, similar to the way the surface pro has gone. That opens up huge development opportunities.
