When I started my IT career, back in the '90s, my first certification was a Novell CNE (Certified NetWare Engineer). I remember the fight between the state of Oregon and Novell over the issue. I have no idea how it was resolved, because NetWare became irrelevant not long afterwards.
There are a lot of jobs in Omaha, and Silicon Valley companies with offices. I work for PayPal and our entire team here is over 50. Lots of jobs in Omaha, great housing market, stable economy. Best jobs website for Omaha area is careerlink.org.
"Computer models indicate that the universe expanded by 100 trillion trillion times in.0000000000000000000000000000000001 (10 to the minus-34) seconds after the Big Bang explosion 13.8 billion years ago."
So, I assume the universe started out as a singularity (another blackhole from another universe, popping like a big pimple to create our universe?) But, really, my question is what is the measurement of a singularity? It has to be 100 trillion trillion times something. I assume that since a planck volume (V=4/3 pi planck length^3) is the smallest volume you can have, then it would be 100 trillion trillion times that?
and why does this editor strip out special characters like pi, etc?
Setup the PC to save personal data to a separate volume, and boot the pc up into the same 'clean' image every time. That way, they can screw it up all they like, but on reboot, it is back to normal.
It is obviously not 'newly discovered', but its presence in the atmosphere and its 'green house gas' properties are 'newly' quantified. Just a poorly worded title for the article.
I don't want to be insensitive to the children, that have little choice on whether they are vaccinated or not, or more responsible relatives that would have vaccinated these children if they could have, but isn't this just natural selection at work in our modern society? How is this any different than parents that smoke around their kids or don't put them in the proper restraints when in a car? The parents, who either because of their intrinsic intelligence or because of the beliefs of their social groups, etc, choose to not protect themselves and their offspring from danger. Because of this, they can be removed from the gene pool, and this alters the future generations, hopefully for the better.
Great, diverse economy. In the worst times, unemployment hit 6%. In good times, almost down to 2%. Lots of good jobs, in private, public and in non-profit. Good schools, low real estate prices, Nebraska tends to be conservative (but fiscally, not a bunch of rednecks, too much), but Omaha is more liberal, so it is kind of Nebraska's Austin, TX. There is a reason Warren Buffett still lives here. And it has become much more diverse in the last 20 years, bringing with that better selection of food and cultures. I run the local BMX track in a city park, across from the cricket fields, next to the dog park, just down the street from the one of the mountain bike parks. And of course we have all the baseball, softball and soccer (football) you could want. Tons of music venues, and Omaha has it own sound and bands (http://www.npr.org/blogs/money/2011/06/06/136896920/the-indie-rock-club-behind-omahas-100-million-creative-boom). We have minor league baseball, two pro football (American of course - UFL and arena), two semi-pro hockey teams a few good college teams in various sports. We hold the NCAA College World Series (baseball) every year and have held the US Olympic Swim trials the last two times. Traffic is good.
On the downside, it mostly flat (hilly) and the nearest skiing is 8+ hours away, if you are into that. Hot and humid in the summer, and cold (but not much snow, usually) during the winters. Autumn here is great, however. Not New England great, but still pretty good. There is casinos across the river in Iowa (plus or minus depending on your tastes).
I could go on. Good luck in your search.

Wow, a complete misunderstanding of sarcasm.

I keep a box of matches handy for my 'methane' emissions.

The TSA need to learn to write plugins for other browswers
Shouldn't we ask whoever is living there what the name is?
and is always an option
have my cell phone booster when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers.
Ah... no one will let me use their computer :(
I use various linux distros daily, but I guess I am not nerdy enough to know why I would want to run vim in a browser.
