I for one am tired of N. Korea's arrogance in having been successful in shutting down Sony's release of the movie. I say it's time to strike back - how about we start a meme where we photoshop and videoshop/YouTube images of Kim Jong Un into compromising depictions? I'm being completely serious. Let's see if N. Korea can shut down the entire internet before we make a laughing stock of them.
SMR drives are fine for I/O scenarios that don't overwrite data very often but they suffer from significant performance penalties for overwrites due to the read-modify-write/write-relocate operations required to modify a set of sectors within a shingled-encoded track. There are tricks to lessen the impact such as virtual sector remapping and background remapping but those can't avoid performance penalties in many scenarios.
Perhaps them walking wouldn't have caused so much damage if they had reduced *their* carbon footprint by not stuffing their face with more than their fair share of food on the planet.
It doesn't seem all that courageous to me to declare you're gay *after* you've completed the climb up the corporate ladder to the CEO position. It would be more impressive if he did it before the perceived risk to his career had long-since passed. Doesn't set a good example for other gays - hiding the fact you're gay until it's safe career-wise to come out.
If it were April I would say that huge mount of boring text has a point hidden somewhere inside it. Let's hope there's a piece of chocolate attached to it as well.
We now have two cases of Ebola being contracted by health care workers in developed nations (Spain, USA), plus the many workers who have contracted it while working with patients in the affected African nations. One wonders if the pool of health care workers willing to work with these patients will start to dwindle and whether the CDC call for calm is more direct at those workers than the general public.
Tell that to the community when an outbreak starts because some narcissistic celebrity didn't want their child afflicted with a disorder that make their parent look bad. Then we can talk about what compassion actually is.

Oh wait, they can't watch it because their internet is down. Now who's stupid?

Thank you very much, Mr. Fraudboto
As long as Comcast lets me share my cable TV with all my friendly neighbors as well. Since we're all in the sharing mood...

No magazine that is a century old should be called new, unless it's readership is mostly vampires.
Intel is learning that success doesn't come as easy in business segments where your tried-and-true monopolist practices don't apply.

Would have been useful to takeout all the mindless celebrities who don't vaccinate their children and thus assure a healthier society for us all.
To return the jamming favor.
Less cash means the company has more to lose if it fights and thus would be more amenable to greenmail. Plus there are insurance policies.
