Not all of us work in enterprise. A great deal of us support the SMB market (which is its own set of challenges), and there is much more need to directly interact with the server via GUI for these environments. I'm not saying that you're wrong, but the odds are good that if you're able to interact solely with powershell, your usage cases are much more specific.
I think you got modded a bit high on this one. I am happy to hate 8.x as much as the next man. But 8 was released October 26, 2012. That is a scant 17 months ago. Wwhat I suddenly, with these stats, realize to be depressing is that apparently, even given all the terrible publicity and negative-everything, it's managed to hit 25% in 18 months.:/
The fact that I have to install Classic Shell as my first step on any new Server 2012, Server 2012 R2, 8, or 8.1 system is still unacceptable. Yes, I realize this solves many of the problems of using the OS, but no *I* shouldn't have to do it. I was on the cusp of going ahead and telling folks "well, start menu is coming back, and really 8.1 has worked out some kinks...", as I suspect many/. readers were as well, but now this latest announcement of no start menu until Windows 9? Well, I guess 8.1 is a nonSTARTer.:drumroll:. Welcome to the new ME.
Um, the constitution is only there to protect the rights you naturally have. You are born with those rights as a human, not as a US citizen. I strongly suggest you revisit the document and what the purpose of the US government is. Thanks.
The right to privacy is a human right. The rights in the constitution are not "because you're american", they are "because you are human and born with them".
Did they choose Titanfall's method of "copy protection" ? That is to say, a massive amount of uncompressed sound assets??? Jeeze, that just seems terribly inefficient.
1) It seems much more likely they do monitor the Cayman Islands in a similar fashion than them not monitoring them.
2) What you say is indeed humorous, but what isn't funny is that we know that the purpose has never been to catch criminals, it is to catch people doing things contrary to the interests of the state, conduct corporate espionage, and/or gather useful blackmail-worthy information for use at a future time.
Cannot help but observe how convenient it will be for the American surveillance state when we have only two sources for delivery of media and internet to the home.
But I'm sure this is just paranoid lunacy, right?
Look, I'm not really a fan or anything, so I don't have an emotional investment beyond my general caring for music - but even a quick look at allmusic will show you what Dr. Dre's current credits are, and if you somehow think that kids born after 2000 who are interested in Hip Hop (that is to say all of them) don't know who he is/will even care, then my friend, you're the one who is out of touch. He is a black entertainer of legendary stature, "The Chronic" (again, I say this dispassionately) is to hip hop what Led Zeppelin 4 is to rock.
Ah yes, the man picked to lose to GWB, the "get Hilary out before she can't be elected in 2016"-shield, Mr. Company Man's Company Man, Mr. 1%er's 1%-er wants me to know that the US, as ever, has got my back with this freedom shit, yo.
...wherein we find our hero offering to "sacrifice" with petty divestments to "competitors".... as if they'd ever face any true regulatory action - they spent a lot of money on those guys, after all.
Just because you and I do not use the "radio waves", and just because the people in your social circle don't use the "radio waves" does not make this in any way true. There are one heck of a lot of low income folks out there that don't have $100 bucks or whatever it is for cable TV, and they 100%, absolutely get their signals over the air, just like you'd be surprised the number of CRT televisions in those homes. Don't be so quick to assume everyone lives a high tech life with disposable income.
Parallel Construction. You'll pardon me if I don't believe a single word from the mouths of our American "law enforcement" and "justice" system. Amazing that he just happened to have those 30 pounds of weed.
I know that this will blow your closed mind, but the gay communities in Houston and Dallas are some of the most vibrant in the country. They have been for many decades now. Now if you want to talk about Texas's views on the poor, that is a different discussion we can have.
How you get moderated "insightful" for such nonsense is beyond me. Detroit's problems are rooted in race and the class system that existed there long before it became a republican talking point to blame Detroit's problems caused by "socialist liberalism". I like to think this is the kind of place such a black and white view of the world gets buried where it belongs.
This is a ridiculous straw man you're building here, and please do note where I said that I was making somewhat of a simplification.
The correct example for you to make would be something to the effect of "Knowing that he holds these personal beliefs, can he be trusted to not exempt or exclude homosexual employees, from XXXX due to their yyyy...."
To which my answer is that, yes, this is certainly a valid concern. But I can't imagine that this man was hired off the street with no previous examples of his character and actions to draw from.
So where's the line for you? At what level is personal speech "acceptable"?. What is "the right level" of tolerance? Let's take it further: "what is the right level of patriotism?" "What is the right level of morality?" "what is the right level of piety?"
Just because you and I agree that LGBT crowd should be allowed to marry gives us no right to impose those beliefs on others, and to do so is wrong.
All humans have a right to free personal speech and should have the freedom to express themselves politically however they choose, within the bounds of the law. I don't support or condone his beliefs, I believe they are wrong-headed, but he has the right to be judged in the workplace on merit and merit alone. I realize this to be somewhat of a simplification, but the fact is the hammer can fall both ways, and I believe this man should have the right to express whatever idiot belief he wants and still keep his job.
"These queries were performed pursuant to minimization procedures approved by the Fisa court and consistent with the statute and the fourth amendment.' Basically, if you communicated with someone that is 'reasonably believed' to be a terrorist, you've lost constitutional protection against searches without a warrant, according to the NSA."
No, I'm sorry. I don't really give two-fucking shits what kind of weasel-dicked lawyer-speak garbage these scum fucks have come up with, continually honing, and that boils down to "Because FUCK YOU, that's why". What I want to know is: "When the justice system is no longer interested in enforcing the clear spirit and intent of the US Constitution, what are we as citizens supposed to do?" We have no representation in congress, clearly the police are not interested in protecting us and ensuring the government is bound by its own laws. The answer is coming down to bloody and violent conflict, or a one-thousand year police state that makes the feudal structure of 10th century Europe look like club-med.
Definitely check out Gary Clark, Jr. he is seriously _legit_ blues. Younger guy, like 29-30, but (according to Wikipedia) got taken under Jimmy Vaughn's wing at an early age, so has gotten to cut his teeth with some real Texas blues guys. I wound up seeing him on Conan O'Brien, and his licks were incredible.

:ugh: 19 months ago, not 17 - embarassing.

It's due to be fixed in the next beta release.

Processing power is cheap and plentiful, disk bandwidth is not, especially on consoles. And, 50 GB is still quite a hit on your average user's SSD.

And here everyone thought the antivaxxers were crazy and dangerous and no good would come of their efforts!!!

There was actually a paragraph break in this at one point. Thanks /. Also, fuck your stupid beta.
