Even if Samsung loses the billion, as had been pointed out, they will make it back on raising prices to Apple, some of which they have already done.
However if a lot of the judgement goes away, as I suspect it will, Samsung will get to keep the extra billion. Looks to me like Samsung can't lose and Apple has royally shot itself in the arse.
How much effort is there to get things to work with touch screens enhanced with ntrig or wacom technology? I like touch screen technology, but at some point you do really need stylus close to a real pen.
Wha?? To me it's not even clear that this thing comes with an active digitizer. If it does then comparing stats to the Galaxy Note 10.1 which definitely comes with a digitizer it is woefully short with only a slightly smaller price tag. If Christmas prices hang around, it will actually be more expensive.
If you really really want eink at the cost of a lot of tablet functionality then this is the tablet for you. Otherwise...
Virtually any tablet will satisfy your all your needs excpet for one: the need to annotate/take notes/ do anything written or drawn.
You really have three options for something to satisfy this last need ( actually one option a active pen/digitizer, but the tablets that come with one come in three flavors ):
1) Windows Slates. These are tablets made out of Windows laptops. Examples include: EEE Slate, Samsung Slate. Approximate price $1500. 2)Windows Surface Pro. Approximate price $1000. 3) Galaxy Note 10.1. Approximate price $500.
Warning: don't be fooled into thinking you can add a pen later. For a decent digitizer you need some sort of tech built into the screen.
So why not download free ripping programs and just borrow and rip?
Worst is that you have to fight DRM so you may need professional ripping software. Why not download that and use it? Who is going to sue you for downloading ripping software?
My understanding is that Microsoft is working real hard on preventing that. Also cheaper laptopsmean cheaper BIOS which mean less options, most of those options are probably the ones you most want if you are going to install an alternate OS.
Really it's more of a patch managment system then anything else.
It's not really ( compared to established version control systems ) convenient for managers, lawyers due, QA or serious developers due to lack of a clear history/ audit trail. Fact is it is only convenient to the high level developers who merge patches into the main tree, ie, it is only useful to the people who are in the same position as Linus.
I assure you that your Britney Spears collection that you keep on vinyl will pale in comparison to the quality of an.mp3 (or equivalent) in year 2200 (though, to be fair, your damaged version will sound better).
There is nothing that will ever make Britney Spears sound good.
We already know how they feel about it. They raised prices on components they made for Apple. No biggie there Apple just paid off itself.

Do you think all pot smokers are out of work 20 year olds who live in their parents' basement?
No. A lot of them are 40 year olds who live in their parents' basement.
It's a shame both sides can't lose.

First. I hardly think their processor can be described as commodity when they use their proprietary A-series.
Second. If someone stepped in and sold a cheaper product, then they would sue them.
Hoarding or whoring?
Ok, you know what I meant.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 has a 10.1" display.
That's why they call it the Galaxy Note 10.1.
Shees that's why the MicroFans think the Surface is innovative -- they have no idea what the status of modern tech is.
Just pointing out the obvious.

What the hell does a Marlin Fish Board have to do with anything. Come to think of it: WTF is a marlin Fish Board.

What no Mr. Fusion?
Comparing the price of the Galaxy Note 10.1 with comparable non pen tablets I would say the digitizer setup is ~$50.
Congressman is that you?
Certainly you seem to be as good with money as him.
Did they bury him with a stake through the heart and his head chopped off?
Agrred

What you mean is, "you can't go closed source Intel apps".
What you really mean is that you can't run Windows apps on these machines.
So what is the problem with that?

"Nobody wants a stylus."
Once again they add a device whose primary raison d'etre is a stylus.
Before it was the Galaxy Note 10.1, now it is the Galaxy Note 2.
Apple must be selling their iShit with hidden wacom styl, to be claiming these copy Apples crap.
What kind of idiot upvoted this?
He told them the location of the bady long, long after the trial.
In fact they found the Anthony body before her trial, with some indications of foul play. So they had more evidence in her case.
