  1. Who does AT&T, Verizon, and Comcast get their Internet access from? What about Google? Microsoft? Facebook? Twitter? Instagram?

    Ask yourself, who owns the physical infrastructure that the Internet runs over? Who provides web ui load balancing and DDoS services to a large portion of the internet? Who owns the public DNS servers that everyone including your upstream provider uses?

    Where the answers to these questions intersect exists the most dangerous dataset ever. Encryption means very little.

    when will developers and content creators learn that closed systems are not good? i hope google dominates in the content publishing arena. make it so that every person on the planet can write a book, publish it online, and get paid a good % out of it regardless of the "quality" of the content.

    This is happening for no other reason than Google is absolutely afraid of Bing providing more relevant search results to due massive SEO attacks against Google and a seemingly atrocious preference to content scrapers at the top of the results lists rather than content providers.

    lazy? it's bing. and i HATE bing. google is not doing the right things in presenting data to their users. "easiest path to the data" used to be ok but now i care more about a site's trust than it's usability.

    content creators should always have higher priority in search results.

    if perl was installed (as it is on almost every linux system these days) his scripts would have run. he had a list of commands to input and expected certain results.

    reducing the complexity of the attack and scripts dramatically increases the number of systems you can attack in a period of time.

    this guy was simply to follow his cheat sheet and it didn't work. in fact, i see this as a complete failure of the honeypot scenario as it's supposed to provide a fake environment to gather intel. this honeypot does nothing of the sort and seems to be more for entertainment than anything else.

    you can't fight against something by playing by their rules. civil disobedience through violations of FCC and FAA regulations could easily be the path to our true freedom.

    this includes unauthorized drones, pirate radio, and mesh based packet radio to bypass future internet filtering and restrictions.

    While I appreciate the made up statistics for this, the only question I have is "What will be done about it?"

    Do you think people are going to get up in arms about the ships that transport almost all of our food and durable goods not to mention exports that provide our country with money?

    It's easy to get pissed at individuals who pollute unnecessarily but when you start talking about the frameworks for the entire global economic system people will be happy to say "it's worth it".

    Am i the only one who is horrified at the concept of companies being in charge of maintaining, archiving, and distributing literature?

    With the push to digitize all forms of written word what happens to the physical books once they have been turned into 1's and 0's?

    Who gurentees that the now digitized work is invulnerable to manipulation? Granted physical books can be manipulated but it's far easier to detect a fraudulent physical book.

    This mass deletion of books at the whim of a provider should make us reconsider some of the pitfalls of moving all of our data into the digital world.

    Not to mention the fact that it was 1984. The universe works in mysterious ways.

    TCO is not calculated to include misconfigurations and improper use.

    Viruses are not a function of the operating system but simply a result of misconfiguration and or improper use.

    I look forward to the day when linux kids get hit with something really bad that is impossible to remove and results in massive $$ to clean.

    If anything you should be happy that you haven't been properly targeted yet.
