I'm betting that this is actually part of Palin's nefarious plans to win the primary by convincing Democrats to get her on the Republican ticket. I'm not sure what the second half of her evil plans are but I think the big picture looks like this:
1. Get Democrats to assist with primary 2. ??? 3. Become President.
I know for sure that I do not need a gun to protect myself over here.
How did you determine this? What's the police response time to your location from the moment you make a call? Here in the US, the response time for a call is 10 minutes as the national average.
Can you stay alive with for 10 minutes or however long it takes for the police to arrive at your location?
Recently here in the US, it took the police 45 minutes to respond to a kidnapping/home invasion where $15k was stolen, the house was burned, and everyone except for the husband was killed.
Are you sure your police force will arrive in time to save you? Willing to bet your life on it?
Were you not paying attention when your Apple sales dude was upselling you AppleCare like he normally does for every piece of Apple hardware that he sells?
This is how America's Special Forces work. The team gets a mission. Everyone comes up with a plan. The team goes over the plan. The good one emerges. The ones not as good fade out. Everyone pokes and prods the good plans until they figure out which one is going to bring about the mission results.
That is the plan the team executes. But at the beginning, everyone on the team has a plan.
If Microsoft decided to sell their own brand of computers, and lock them down so no other OS would run on them, you would be hearing anti-trust arguments across the entire computer industry
I've never understood why Apple has such an obsession with Objective C
Allow me to explain.
1. Who owns the language spec? What if there was a modification needed to the language to meet the needs of Apple's hardware that's going to be released to consumers? For example, blocks. How fast could Apple introduce something like that if the language spec was owned by... for purpose of example, Oracle?
2. Who owns the runtime? See question 1.
Objective-C gives Apple the flexibility to make changes as needed to meet their needs without waiting on some standards body or another corporation to get in the way. Apple will not walk away from Objective-C for these reasons.
And yet recording a conversation where all parties involved are not informed that they are being recorded is a crime in some jurisdictions. People keep expecting the law to make sense to them. People continue to be disappointed.
4) Apple rebuffs finder and does not attempt to recover or claim the property (at this point how can it be considered stolen???)
How do we know this is true?
The guy who found and sold the phone is one of the parties to that particular conversation. Gizmodo wasn't there. If Gizmodo is telling about these events, that's hearsay. It could be a complete fabrication. The only way of proving this is to go through Apple's call logs or testimony from the guy who found and sold the phone. None of us knows who that person is right now.
If I was Gizmodo legal team, I'd make very certain that this event is true, correct, and provable.
If you put your trash out on the curb, and a neighbor helps himself to the iPhone you accidentally dropped inside the bag, you can't later turn-round and sue your neighbor for stolen property in order to get it back. Abandoned property belongs to nobody.
Actually, you can turn-around and sue your neighbor for stolen property to get it back. I don't think you understand the legal system. You can pretty much sue anyone for anything. Whether you win or not is a whole different story.

Even the chat clients can become an issue because you have to keep switching out of them to view links that people send.
Seems like the chat clients just need to integrate a web view. It's not that hard. Plenty of iPhone twitter clients already do this. It ain't rocket science.

it doesn't support MS Office
Do you mean create or view? It can view MS Office documents just fine.

Only if that model is exported out of China.
Pay attention. The right to bear arms is actually slowly being given back to us. The anti-gun laws are slowly collapsing across the country.

No, but it did work for the Mongols in Afghanistan.
We voted those leaders in. You did vote right?
The fault has always been with the voters.

It's called an "Xbox".
And the App Store is Apple's. So if you want your apps on the App Store, you're going to play by the store owner's rules.

So it's a real problem to some big-time apps. This may also limit how many apps become big-time apps.
And yet recording a conversation where all parties involved are not informed that they are being recorded is a crime in some jurisdictions. People keep expecting the law to make sense to them. People continue to be disappointed.
Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you. Fool me thrice I break your fucking neck.
The court determined that she wasn't in violation. Take it up with the court if you disagree.
