I think we are close to seeing Microsoft actually having to release/support Direct X on all platforms. Thats all they need to do to put a slowdown on Steam controlling the linux gaming market.
It will happen, MS will be forced to rethink their PC market dominance and control. In the mean time, I just hope openGL becomes the king of PC gaming, once again.
I got sick to death of my 10+ year yahoo account being "compromised", just out of the blue. My passwords are always secure using multiple caps/numbers/symbols etc. My gmail/hotmail accounts never gave me this hassle.
Everytime you want to "recover" your account, you have to siv through pages, and pages of crap. Once you confirm your account with another email on file, you then have to provide your current password (which has been compromised and changed) to get in. This could all be avoided if Yahoo mail actually had a "SECURE" system in the 1st place.
Hence why i haven't bothered with Yahoo Mail since. Yahoo is too far behind and too careless for my attention. Hotmail and Gmail is all you need, and, will save you so much frustration.
You might like to think there is a law, that bubble wraps the situation. But your being an idiot if you think war follows "rules". War is War. A country will go to any length to prepare/protect itself, regardless of what special "laws" you think exist.
Ai, or, just basic random number generation? Theres probably alot more under the hood. But, unless we can see how the code is written, it just looks like a random number based world generator to me.
Oats 38.0% + Wheat 18.6% + Barley 12.8% + Rice 5.5% + Maize 2.6% = Cereal Grains 77.5% Here I thought us Yanks were supposed to be worse at arithmetic than the Brits.
Nope, i just think the Yanks are more used to misleading ingredients listings.
Is this the norm in the USA?: - 99% water - 50% milk - 1% sugar
'We were able to do this with original Cheerios because the main ingredients are oats,"
Taken from a UK packet 800g, today: - Cereal Grains = 77.5% - Oats = 38.0% - Wheat = 18.6% - Barley = 12.8% - Rice = 5.5% - Maize = 2.6%
And yes, the above is over 100%. Work that one out. If they cant even get the ingredients list right on a packet, theres no hope. For all we know, we could be eating dog shit.
(1) If you don't want to pay for an anti-virus program, dont install a free one. Learn from your mistakes of clicking random shit, it makes you a better user in the end.
(2) Save files to a NETWORKED SERVER. Or USB HDD/Stick if you care about your privacy.
(3) If you have friends, they will most likely rather use their own phone than your laptop.
(4) Be aware of your computer's System Restore option as a way of ignoring your own failures.
Please take notice, this is how to support GPU hardware correctly.
Considering Nvidia are the leaders in Linux performance drivers. You should send that letter to AMD instead. AMD couldn't be bothered to consider Linux as a "profitable return" in the past. Hence it took them so bloody long to add simple GPU acceleration to its driver. Nvidia was always the leader in Linux GPU performance and support, way before AMD.
Yes, i'd love to see Nvidia release their source code. But to be honest, i'd rather AMD released theirs first, it needs alot more work to bring it upto Nvidia's quality.

The dinosaurs were in a similar situation a while back. At first, they had a few of these things falling from the sky, posting them on youtube, twittering them etc. Not really thinking much of it.
Little did they know, it was the only pre-warning to their extinction. Also destroying Youtube and Twitter in the process.
Or, we can just continue to call it "Dual Booting" instead? Since, thats been around probably longer than the marketing guy, and, technically means something (cough cloud).
I use 1280x720 on my desktop for everything (even coding in VS). But thats mainly due to my eyes taking 20 years of tube monitor abuse, and, i like things to focus for me:P
No thanks. I'd rather emulate an emulator using javascript whilst emulating windows, just to be on your level. I love the youth of today for taking priceless optimized stuff and waving your "i'am a lazy fuck, who pisses on hard work" in its face. Nice job.
These SSD's are the paper and pen of the future, yet, paper and pen is still more reliable.
We live in this high tech world. Yet, to cut corners and save money, devices are not being improved for stability. Instead, they are being designed to maximize marketing opportunities at the cost of the users data, and, short lifespan of the device.
I'am all for backups, but the backup shouldnt be the all, and end all, failsafe for a substandard replacement to Pen and Paper.
These SSD manufactures need to get their asses in gear. Realise what a SSD actually stores (valuable data) and build a device which actually does that job, for the sake of the user and the SSD reputation.
This is absurd. Yes, Vista was a disaster, but Windows 7 was a huge upgrade from XP.
Whats more absurd is that you believe: - 6x memory footprint - 2x number of processes on boot - 4x number of handles and threads - 3x number background services - Kernel filled with over the top security checks, instead of being optimized for the end user. - 5x + Increase in explorer delay (hello DWM.exe)
Is a huge upgrade? If your working for a bank, maybe, but as a home user, its not an upgrade. Its a downgrade in every respect from XP, that is, if you care about the performance of your hardware.
I honestly challenge you to run a program like Prime32 on a clean XP and Windows7 system on the same hardware. Let me know how it goes. Still feel it was an upgrade?
Me and misses did the monthly LTS trim of our immediate bush gardens. Performance hasnt really improved, and, stability cums and goes. This is a known issues when running a bloated OS like Ubuntu on critical hardware systems.
We recently made a switch to a pure Debian based bush garden, the performance is superb. Too bad its over within a second or two.
If they know the current: - Previous Orientation of vehicle - Current Orientation of vehicle - Previous speed - Current Speed
Simple Method = Use the previous speed against current speed. Predict what the new thottle level will need to be to reach their target (how cruise control should work)
But theres some hills = They can simply make an additional function to increase/decrease throttle based on a angle prediction using the previous and current orientations.
This is simple logic, i just dont understand their need to overcomplicate this for sake of mentioning the "cloud".
Considering most 3D modelling programs and their users have unique user interface settings, and requirments. If you cant be bothered to customise blender to your style, theres nothing the foundation can do for you.
I hated Blenders interface and default settings, comming from using Silo, it was so backwards. Once i changed all the blender settings to match Silo, i've never looked back. Been using Blender for over 2 years.
Since when is 2160p 4k? Who decided to use the number on the left, round it up even more and hope noone with half a brain notices. Ah thats right, the marketing twats. Probably the same ones who throw "cloud" down everyones throat.
Either way, i'd rather have 1080p at 60fps. Give it a year for compression/codecs and streaming services to catch up. Then upgrade the resolution to 2k (its not 4k). 60fps just feels more natural. 24fps feels like slideshow. Upping the resolution of a slideshow does nothing for me.
But since the marketing has already started for 2k, and, the TV manufactures failed with 3D sales. No doubt we will have this crap rammed down our throats, and , sucked up by the masses.
Stability + Performance = All that the end user will care about.
Doesnt matter who made it, or what their background is. As long as the program runs stable, and, with respectable performance, the end user wont think twice about who made it.

Uh, yeah, what you said..........except that password recovery hasn't worked that way for a long, long time, if ever.
I tried it today, and, still asking me for a password to recover my account....................

"Flamebait", fucking hilarious.
If windows 7/8 wasn't a downgrade from XP in every respect, this discussion wouldnt be here.
Tip: make good software = customers buy. Make software which does nothing but negatives for the previous owners = no buy.
If DX11 wasnt forced on me, i would still be using XP. Suppose thats one way they got us to upgrade, April 2014 will be the last straw.

Honestly, we force our kids to live in a world of bubble wrap.
Then, when things don't work, we blame everyone else.
Your the parent, do your job.
The world wont change overnight, you need to teach your kids whats right and whats wrong.
Stop relying on tech to be the parent you cant be bothered to be.
