Here's the kicker. Most predators are scavengers. It requires less energy to scavenge than to hunt and kill. T Rex was very capable of killing. Nature wouldn't have made those tools (powerful legs and huge sharp teeth) if it didn't intend for him to use them.
Actually, I read or saw something last year that said the best way to get rid of warts to put duct tape over them. Worked better than all the OTC medicines.
The only thing duct tape seems to have a problem sticking to is duct work in my attic.
Some people just aren't happy. This is the type of business they wanted, and now they are upset because they don't have a reputation like Apple? Wa, wa. Just admit you build them as cheap as you can and as fast as you can. You make a lot of money and we'll continue to call them crap. Fair enough?
Woz, was and is a brilliant engineer. But there are hundreds like him. But there aren't many like Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs IS Apple. Look what they did without him. 12 years of absolutely nothing. Steve Jobs launched the Macintosh. Then he started NeXT which was a decade ahead of its time. Then he brought Apple back from near extinction. Can you think of another corporation that can yield such influence over an industry while having less than 10% market share? Oh, and somewhere in his spare time, he bought a little animation studio and turned it into a force.
This leads to a reason why we need a new definition of what open standards mean. AAC is an open standard, because it was agreed upon by a committee and its specs were submitted. But its not free. A license for the encoder will set you back about $15K. Not open by my definition. To me, an open standard should be free of patents and licensing fees in addition to having documented specs.
Microsoft is trying to get their.doc format certified through ISO. But will it be truly open after that? Or are there patents on it that will prevent open source projects from utilizing it?
You're an idiot. The viruses are not targeted at Intel hardware. They are targeted at Microsoft Windows software. Ever heard of a virus on Linux? No. It runs on Intel. What makes you think that OS X will be more prone to viruses no that it runs Intel?
I'm totally with you on this. I can't wait for VMware to announce a native OS X version. I'll buy just as soon as its out. I have no interest in dual booting. I did that back when I was first learning Linux and still needed Windows for my wife. I'm currently setting up Windows 2000 on Q, but it seems to be very slow, at least the configuring of drivers. It had been going for well over an hour when I left the house this morning.
I'm totally with you on this one. Booting XP on a Mac is great, but I see a much better benefit in being able to run Windows inside of OS X. And I would prefer to spend my money on VMware than Microsoft's Virtual PC.
Bob. And we all know how that turned out.
You're right. The one thing they did come up with on their own, they dismissed because they didn't know what to do with it.

They unleashed a monster. Could have nipped it in the bud back in the 50's.
And what does Windows Media Center have to do in comparison with iTunes/iMovie/iDVD. Maybe iTunes, but iMovie and iDVD are for creating stuff.
Enough with the overpriced BS. Prove it to me. You show me any PC that can match every spec on an iMac or MacBook Pro that costs 60% less.

I've never understood why Wal-Mart carries only "clean" versions of CD's yet has no problem selling R-rated DVD's.

Smoke that!
He was majority stockholder. He initiated the buy from George Lucas. Not a fanboi, just informed.

Good god! PostgreSQL 7.x was out 5 years ago! 6.x was out almost 10 years ago. A lot has happened since then.

There's a problem when you have to write more lines of XML code than source code.

Only one problem. The cost of XP Pro is just about the cost of a low end PC.
Sick of iPod-killer stories. Not gonna happen.
They are going after IBM yet their real competition is Google in web services, Linux on servers, and Apple on the desktop and multimedia.
Could this just be a $500M ploy to make people think they aren't paying attention?
Well, it doesn't have a toolbar mode, but it does have a mini player in the advanced menu.

But they won't listen.
Change the "Buy it now" to "Buy it in 5 minutes"
These patents are just so f'ing stupid.
