I have to agree, I set up cups on my router box where the printer is connected, enabled the broadcast mode of cups and haven't _touched_ cups on any other machine here, the printers automagically appear all ready to print. The box that gave me the biggest headache was the Windows 2000 one. *shrug*
Yet it appears the only way to get this version is with the turbo linux distribution. Not one mention of it on cyberlink's site at all. Yet another stealth port.
If by 'B of A' you're referring to Bank Of America, it works fine for me with mozilla 1.xx and various nightlies (no I'm not spoofing the browser ident either). And I _do_ use the online bill pay stuff.
How are you sure of this? Microchannel architecture RS/6000s (don't laugh, there's THOUSANDS of them still in production) don't run Linux, and even if you can (or someone has) - the hardware is so outdated as to be pointless. I'm not familiar with the hardware from other Unix vendors, but I'll bet you'll find a lot of legacy hardware out there still in production that won't run Linux.
Actually, linux does support the MCA bus.. So I don't think it would be that big a stretch getting it working on the rs/6000.
And if you look at http://oss.software.ibm.com/developer/opensource/l inux/projects/ppc/
Same here, I paid for a 1 year subscription, got like 3 magazines delievered for the 1 year subscription then never got anymore. The response I got was 'Well, we had some problems with our fufillmat house, but we changed to another supplier, would you like to subscribe for another year?' Um... no thanks, you didn't deliever on you promise once already... Thanks but no thanks, I wish you all the success in the world I however won't be participating.

Can u give me a URL for full accelerated driver for my Geforce 2 card? how about some fast 3D graphics please? good XvMC support? umm, perhaps XFT-2 support please?
No you can sell the application as normal, you must make the source available. Furthermore you can't tell the person you just sold it to he can't give it to his friends.
I'm sorry, but a mission critical system I _will_ have physical access to, given physical access to a system and if you can't get in or otherwise restore the system to a working state then something is really wrong. The problem with backdoors is no matter how well hidden/protected they _will_ be found. Once found they _will_ be exploited.
Ah.. so if I legally own a gun, some smuck steals it your saying I'm responsible for that? No I don't think so. Thats about as bad as trying to make the manufacturer of the gun responsible.
This reminds me of a quote from a police officer..
"I have never had arrested an indvidual with a legal gun and permit." Of course I could go off and start spewing statsistics and such but there is little point in that. What really shows is that making it harder for the average law abiding citizen to obtain a gun is doing little if anything to curb violent crime. Criminals will get guns no matter what you do. Criminals will commit crimes. Personally I would like the chance to even the score if someone were breaking into my house. It has also been said no matter what language the thief speaks he will understand a shotgun being cocked.
Hmm... Well I keep my machines upto date but I very rarely re-boot them. They get rebooted for the following reasons:
1. Kernel upgrade.
2. Hardware Change.
3. Power outage.
At work we have a few machines that are approaching 500 days of uptime so it just goes to show you, set up a machine for a specific task and if it works don't break (ie fool with it)
Yes the TNT drivers suck, utterly, I made the mistake of buying a TNT card.. Never again.. If I could find somewhere that _sells_ the Matrox cards I would have bought them. Alas all stores around here don't carry matrox anything.

They'll toss the ever present EULA up and say, oops sorry we aren't responsible. Software was provided 'AS-IS'... too bad so sad.

You'll see IBM is working on such a thing..
RedHat is targeting a different market, mainly the businesses, they don't want the home/desktop market.

Oh it works just fine.. Its rather well done there are a few glitches here and there but they are more then tolerable.
If you poke around in the mozilla source tree you _will_ see some p3p stuff contributed by, of all people, IBM...
So yes its in the works.
Baaad Monty, feeding the trolls... You should be spanked (though some people enjoy that ;) )
Well the refusing to divulge the key would, IMHO, fall under the fourth amendment in the US. In that you are not required to incrinate yourself.
A stretch? Probably. A good lawyer could probably do a convincing enough argument.

ok, so they might all be in bed together, but can they really 'anticipate' what they're going to say in so much detail?
;)
Um... If you hand em a script to memorize, sure you can 'anticipate' what they are gonna say as you wrote it
They cover this in the first part of the license... They are not _selling_ you anything, they are licensing it to you.
