how about stopping the instant whining when some company is releasing something for linux? it's really annoying. here is the 2.6.23 patch btw: http://pluto.blackbone-ev.de/atipatch.php
but getting to that link implies READING THE ARTICLE and using a mouse. yeah i know... this is slashdot...
this is even more funny. mediadefender signed exe's anyone?

This is the certificate, please be careful with this file. The file you need is the mediadefender2006.spc, the other is the private key that you might need to encode a file.
very nice, compiled just fine, but cant test due no display atm
heh, guess that native binary runs faster than the official linux one under emulation "RELEASE_CFLAGS=$(BASE_CFLAGS) -DNDEBUG -O6 -ffast-math -funroll-loops -fomit-frame-pointer -fexpensive-optimizations"
firebird is a remarkable product. period. hats off to the developers!
i've been developing commercial software since 93 with borland delphi. delphi is a fine ide with awesome db powers. it came a long way with that crappy paradox/bde thing with a bunch of drawbacks, but interbase is a professional and very powerfull dbs with its sql dialect.
the firebird project forked back in 2000 as interbase became opensource. as it is licensed under a gpl incompatible license there will always be flaimbaits. especially here on/.
sure, it got alot of attention due to the name conflict, but software developers that rely on a powerfull and stable db engine surely know about it for a long time.
Clues to the source code's origin lie in a "core dump" file, which is left by the Linux operating system to record the memory a program is using when it crashes. Further investigation by BetaNews revealed the machine was likely used by Mainsoft's Director of Technology, Eyal Alaluf.
right, betanews revealed it.. damnit. they could've at least credited me;) bastards
its in the wild and no one can do anything about it. most ppl are downloading it to have something to brag about. others are just peeking at it for the fun of it, like me. just a few grep's showed some interesting things...
the file actually is the zip to the spreading files.txt
whats a little bit weird is a linux coredump at private/security/msv_sspi/core
it appears someone named eyala from mainsoft used vim (VIM - Vi IMproved 5.6 (2000 Jan 16, compiled Mar 7 2000 12:18:07)) on a redhat x86 box under xfree86/kde on a w2k sp1 sourcefile, well until the box ran out of memory...
Creates the file Sync-src-1.00.tbz (28,569 bytes) and copies this file to the %Windir%, %System%, %Temp%, and %UserProfile% folders, as well as to the root folder of all the fixed and remote drives. This file is a tar archive, which contains the source code of W32.Mydoom.A@mm
there're chances that this lil' cutie of oss will get "ported", since everyone got the source already;)

overall, you're right, but s15e09 (FABF04) was a great one. its the one with snowball... havent seen that kind of humor for a while in the simpsons.
for the ones that missed it, get it here as vcd or avi
one could use Packet filter state synchronization to another public unknown box combined with authpf to use additional ports, rather than using "port knocking clients", which itself sounds kind of needless
i saw rotk and finding nemo... everyone loves those two and they were just awesome, no doubt.
21 grams is just a different movie. do yourself a favour and watch this one, you wont regret it.
everyone makes the experience in his life to loose someone very close and you will see the world with different eyes, will start thinking about things you never had. the movie tells a sad story with such a view, and i must admit its been told beautifully.
this movie really has a meaning, watch it and maybe you will see what i saw.
* The RealTek 8139 PCI NIC redefines the meaning of 'low end.' This is
* probably the worst PCI ethernet controller ever made, with the possible
* exception of the FEAST chip made by SMC. The 8139 supports bus-master
* DMA, but it has a terrible interface that nullifies any performance
* gains that bus-master DMA usually offers.

bitlbee ftw!
if you're on irc 24/7 and using irssi within screen, bitlbee is just unbeatable

thx for the port!
seriously, everytime a db discussion comes up here ppl are referring to mysql and postgres. how come firebird almost never gets any credits?

acid is the first feature that gets mentioned on their factsheet http://firebird.sourceforge.net/guide/FBFactsheet

common typo for you emacs weirdos, ':wq' would have been the correct answer.
according to the specs music is played back using RealOne Player, so no thank you!
remember 98lite? i used the micro option on some party p75-mp3-box to get w98 under 50mb (!)
the company now offers 2000/xplite
just look at the page what can be stripped out, looks pretty amazing.
blah blah, i'm an ircaddict too, so have a look at bitlbee.
and to cheer you up, just click on the aol link (quicktime movie) in the article, some funny stuff in there...

i second that, i was blown away by crouching tiger hidden dragon and hulk wasnt as good as it could be, but it surely wasnt as bad as ppl are yelling.
same goes for the matices, ppl are expecting something different, but the 3 movies as a whole were damn good
