In the country I reside, copying of software / movies / other bullshit for personal & non commercial uses is acceptable, and not a crime. Good thing someone, somewhere has some intelligence.
Recently, I got a new laptop for work. A pretty decent upper end Toshiba. Neat little sticker on it saying "Windows Vista Certified" or some crap like that. OK, for the hell of it, I went to install a copy of Vista Ultimate on it. I definitley had more than the min requirements to run Aero & all that crap.
What happens? Well, going through the lame assed install, pukes at the end of it, with an "Undefined Error". Needless to say, the little "Vista" sticker is now afixed to the side of the office toilet, the copy of Vista went back to the retailer, and I'm quite happy with XP on it.

Well said. And I don't think there was a time Gene Simmons (or KISS in general) was ever relevant. Yes, I'm over 40 too, and thought they, and their music sucked some serious ass.
What we have, is the music industry aging gracefully like a dinosaur. It's inability to adapt to the change in market desires, will kill it ff as we know it. And the fact that the RIAA is suing everyone they can find that *might* be a P2P user, proves this fact once again.
Gene, take some more Geritol, and shut the fuck up. I don't mind, and you don't matter.:)
Well said. When did it become a law / requirement to have a compliant web site? Bullshit like this should have been thrown / laughed out of court the minute the suit was filed.
Frank is of the opinion that adults should police themselves for excessive gambling, and the government should stay out of their way. Wow, now there's a novel idea...
This kind of reminds me of another loozer company that tried this a few years back. Something about LZW compression in GIF files. Smells like another loozer company grabbing at straws.
I've been using Bayesian filtering for quite some time, and find it totally effective for spam filtering. I honestly believe, that there is no need for a DNS blackhole, other than just stopping the trivial waste of bandwidth.
how many versions of windows were released before they managed to build one that didn't suck
But the strategy - if they did build vacuum cleaners, it wouldn't work 1/2 the time, and when it did, you'd have to keep continually be buying parts for it to keep it running. And after that, it would crash the other 50% of the time.
They could also start screening all the outbound mail for spam content. Until I blocked ports 25 and 53 to that country, I was getting bombed with it.:)
Myself, I'd rather see an in-flight torrent tracker with plenty of seeds. ;)
Exactly :)

I left a year ago, and never looked back. :)

Get rid of daylight savings time too.

I suppose calling the police is not in company guidelines?

No drugs anymore? No terror anymore? What rock are you living under?

Nah, it was just another bad windows update ;)
Or they all have a very large crack pipe...
Have you ever been out of the town you were born in? Probably not.
Don't be too sure of that. Look at their track record...
Yup, and the RIAA is already trying this strategy... :)
It doesn't. Why is there a political section here to begin with?

RPN rocks. I will never go back to another tpe of calc, since getting my fist HP back in High School (25+ years ago).
:)
Great to see HP is still in the calc business. IMO, they're the best out there.
heh
hehehhe. I got something for Down's Syndrome when I went there...
This is what, Nimda part #5 now? Oh yeah...
