This; if allowed to proceed, would chase everyone over to DSL which to date does not have this intention, and for those that do not have access to DSL, they would be forced out of capability to work at home.

Most likely, Comcrap and their friends Roadrunning, Timewardoff and the like will ultimately say that if you are using a VPN, you must purchase a business account at most likely $200 per month or more not including cable TV. This will place internet out of the reach of many who cannot afford the costs associated with a price per gig system.

  12. This story is both enlightening and strange. on Vinyl Gets Its Groove Back · · Score: 1

A 15 year old??? Obviously this youth has become disenchanted with todays choices of so-called "music" for people his age, and so like my own kids; he is going to see what his parents listened to and probably liked it a lot. There is little or no "hip-hop" and "rap crap" that I know of produced on vinyl--at least nothing here in Minneapolis area. There are those few artists that decided to also market vinyl but it was a marketing experiment more than anything else. The CD's still outsold them by far. All new music going back to the mid 90's that I can find is all end-user produced on CD anymore with vinyl just not available. Even our local favorite; "Cheapo" who used to advertise they carried vinyl, now only has CD's and some tapes because nobody buys vinyl.

So this also begs the question how true is this article? I listen to MP3's on my Apple iPod; but all my MP3's are ripped from the CD's in high quality modes usually stereo 2 track (not joint) with 256 or 320 bit sizing. There is an audible difference with 128 and the others that use this as default, and even Apple's own 128 bit native format in iTunes is not that hot.

I do have a portable Sony EQ that I used to use with my old Sony Walkman (TPS-L2) way back when...; but almost never anymore since going titanium on the phones--they have a hugely hot bottom end!

So; I don't get it. Under my titanium headphones which are of exceptional audio quality, and my iPod; I only hear problems with MP3 at the 128 bit rate, but not higher rates. And; I'm a working musician with studio experience. I like and still own a lot of vinyl myself but prefer putting them in digital format. What gives??

In the meantime, since you are a minor, you legally have not a foot to stand on and must rely on your parents. Thats the law here in the US. Those students are captured in a photo with beer bottles and all kinds of other paraphernalia on the table and the photo alone implies breach of agreement. Period. By sheer association--guilty.

If you are an adult with a student in the schools, and they want to play sports, better think long and hard about that agreement that must be signed. If you don't sign, you don't play. Period. It's right, just, and fair for everyone involved directly or indirectly. It's expected outcome is your youth will graduate and go on to bigger and better things. If you don't like it, there's always "Private School"! You of course could petition Congress for change of law to give minors more legal protections and rights, however I, and most other parenting adults would similarly petition Congress to leave our parental rights alone.

Man you people need to get a life and understand that the news media has tipped your bias pointer off-scale; and learn that not everyone in the world is a sexual deviant.

I live here in MN, and well familiar with Eden Prairie high school.

I am in agreement that there should be repercussions to these students by the school because it demonstrates a larger social issue with regard to how the school is teaching these students. But on the same tone, it demonstrates very well what happens when; over time, you slowly erode morals and ethics in society and in particular, the public school system, and the outcome with these kids as they grow up with that environment.

I have successfully gotten one of my 3 kids out the door as a young adult, and did not have to worry about teenage pregnancy, drinking and all the drug problems that many of these kids have. I fully expect to have my other two out the door in much the same fashion. Unfortunately there are a lot of households where this is not the case and these problems will continue to abound.

I'm not going to say that I'm better than anyone on here but lets face it, some folks do need to think a short while before you hit the reply link. Lets not assume the worst about everyone on the planet. Get some facts first.

There really are a lot of good people in the world.

And; there is something to be said about the first person who responds to this comment, and balks at all that I have said here! And that would demonstrate why these problems are here in the first place.

If you need to keep yourself hidden from the world with your kiddie porn, then you should remove it from your computer prior to taking it in for service.

But that also has a two-edge sword with it. I run disk and file system checks and repairs routinely on any computer I service and if I happen to uncover deleted kiddie porn files mysteriously, then the customer is in deep do-do. When you take a computer in for repair you should expect that the tech will be seeing your files. They are morally and ethically bound to not copy it and to protect it as best as possible. They are also morally and ethically responsible to uphold the law.

Also; most people, including judges know the difference between a picture found in the browser cache versus one found in your My Pictures folder or some other "hidden" folder on your drive. Thats a real poor defense anymore too because if you had these in the browser cache, you were visiting sites promoting this stuff and that is still illegal even though the servers are not on US soil.

If you don't want someone looking at or fooling with your kiddie porn on your computer, take it to a back-alley repair person and stay out of commercial businesses.

I can safely and assuredly say that I HAVE NO PORN OF ANY KIND on my computer because I actually have a life and don't visit those kinds of pages even on accident.
