Ah, wouldn't this be considered enforced by law? Who is revoking the license- a monkey? The only difference it seems is that the US has a national standard while the UK has a committee/local/regional standard, and according to some other posters (who I don't know if they are correct or not) letting a 12 year old into a 15 rated movie has legal ramifications. National law, local "standards", same affect. In the US, a kid can get into any movie under an X or NC-17 (all 3 of them) rating as long as their parents are with them.

Current radio stations that pay the various fees to broadcast over the air would then have to pay additional fees to just to stream the audio of the Internet, in an effort "to curb piracy" or some shit. Basically, double pay for all audio unless it's original content such as talk radio (unless it is a syndicated show, then you still have to pay.)

During dot boom, our company got hit moderately, and management let go those people who were not profitable (we work on a billability basis). Sure, it sucked for them, and I was sweating it our for a few months, but things got better. I even got a 5% raise in December. Glad a work in the defense industry nowadays.

They lost thousands in WW2, the coal business crashed in the 50's, and they never recovered. All of the kids (starting with my parent's generation in the late 60's- yes they are from there) have left, leaving very few youngsters, besides Wilkes College. This is not a place where IT folks flock to, and any that are there most likely get paid at least 1/2 of any of you do. The people there are good people, but they couldn't tell a Mac from an IBM mainframe.
So don't go and call them bozos. Call the idiots who work in the IT divisions bozos if you must, but the average person in Wilkes-Barre wouldn't know what the hell the article right-up means, besides the word taxes.

I have to agree- even if the person is not as knowledgable as you, they generally try pretty hard. Remember, these are not telemarketers. If you are nice to them, they tend to give a crap and will even get off the phone for a minute to go talk with a co-worker who may be an expert in the area. One exception- Microsoft's tech support. I had to spend a good 10 minutes just proving I legally owned Visio 2002 just 30 minutes after I bought it because of an install issue. Credit card reciept, license #, actually CD straight from the box- no shit.
If you are one of the profs I had that cared and wanted his/her students to learn- rock on. If you were one of those that let his/her student assistants pretty much teach the class- I hope you fall down a very deep hole.

I kinda doubt we will have "Star Trek on Earth" in 50 years. But even going on that premise, sleeping is still needed besides fatigue poisons. Our brains still need down time just to dump the 90% of crap we encounter every day.
There was a study done where the subjects were woken as soon as they went into REM sleep. Kept doing that for about a week or so. Not only did the subjects suffer serious waking mental degradation, they fell into REM quicker and quicker. REM sleep has nothing to do with the chemical cleansing of sleep (though that is also neccesary), so sleep is still psiologically (sp?) needed.
