How many HTML coderz do we need on the market. There are plenty of people who can pick up Frontpage and do that. When I think of web development, I think of companies that demand dynamic, database, multi-tiered sites. Think of how much money is lost by not working full time? Think of the career advancement I could accomplish in 4 years? Think of the relevant technologies I could be diving into if I could use the time I spend on school on them?

Granted, I will get a degree out of this. But it jsut seems like you could kill two birds with one stone - give me the bachelor's degree and give me something I can use at the same time.

Another question might be - why does society value a Liberal Arts education so much? If it didn't, I don't think you'd need a degree to get an entry level job.

I agree. Now clueless business owners who heard that "Linux is free" will hire Linux+ people to try it in their business. After all, he/she is certified and knows what he/she is doing, right?

The first time the shit hits the fan, the business decides Linux is too immature and difficult to maintain for his/her business. This may be true for his/her business, but you can't necessarily expect a Linux+ certified person be able to administer Linux effectively.

However, I think it is good in showing that you have an open mind and are willing to "do what it takes" to learn other technologies as needed, rather than relying on your University education that taught you VB and Windows is all you ever need...
