    A better virtual desktop manager for Windows is made by nvidia. I can't remember if it's free to download or if it only comes on the cd with the gfx card, but it's good.

    Nvidia also has a little app called "nview" that adds "roll up" controls to windows, adds an "always on top" option for windows, can make any window alpha-blended etc.

    This is why I have all my CDs stored as .flac, so I can be laughing in the distant future when everyone has crappy mp3s just because they wanted to save some space decades ago when 700 meg was a lot.

    I use python to write 1337 5cr1p75 for Xchat.

    If you already know other languages I wouldn't say you really have to do much learning, mainly it's just the few classic moments of exclaiming:

    "What do you mean, whitespace is significant?!"

    "Where's the case statement?"

    etc.

    The Japanese sound on the Pioneer DVD really sucks. The English one is high quality and the Japanese one is very low quality, unfortunately.

    There was only one German dub as far as I know.

    Never claim anything is hack-proof if you don't want to get hacked.

    Especially do not claim that safety-critical systems are hack-proof, since even people who wouldn't normally try to hack them will try.

    It's like security through obscurity- in this case more like security through non-boasting. The same thing applies- it doesn't really make you more secure, but it stops a lot of people from trying.

    I thought I would update everyone after having done some SPAM research.

    The UK SPAM site is here. They don't have as much merchandise available as the US site, but it's easier to get if you're in the UK.

    They have a fanclub! I signed up for it with my real address so that I could get SPAM spam! Is that cool or what?

    Another thing I found on there is that in the 1940s there was an advert in the US with a song:

    "SPAM®, SPAM®, SPAM®, SPAM®;
    Hormel's new miracle meat in a can;
    Taste fine, saves time;
    If you want something grand; ask for SPAM®."

    Could this be the inspiration for the Monty Python sketch????

    I actually stopped halfway through reading all these posts and went to my local shop and bought a tin of spam. It was really expensive: £1.32, but that's local shops vs. supermarkets for you.

    I think I'm going to have spamburgers and chips for tea.
