Umm, >5 million dead in wars with Iran don't count? And don't blame the Americans for current deaths; almost all of the deaths now are the result of insurgents who are mostly from Saddam's ousted Bathists group.
The US was paying Iraq to fight that war after
we lost control of Iran during the revolution.
At the same time we where secerately selling
weapons to Iran to fight Iraq. The blood is still
clearly on the hands of America, we put Saddam
is power to do this, we are in it all the way.
The fact we put Saddam in power, provide training
and weapons to him is the only remotely justifible
reason for the US army to be in Iraq today.
I'm still trying to figure out if the uptick in aggressively negative response was because I switched it from the obvious URL to the "tinyurl.com" one or if people's patience is just wearing thin over this whole marketing thing.
I'm not sure about the URL, but this free-ipod
thing is annoying, when playing online games people are asking others to help them get ipods.
In some ways it worse than popups and flashy
banner ads, because it 'infects' a person who
then becomes the annoying advertisement themselves. And they'll "popup" and advertise
at any opertunity that they think they can get
a lead (it's all about lead generation anyway).
There is a next level, when people are using
false pretences to get the lead quota they
need for to qualify for an ipod. I think this
what the original person who commented about it
was taking to task.
I fear if successful, then we will see this a lot
more. It could be a big win for
the companies, the more people to try to get ipod, the less leads that they are to go around, meaning
many people won't fill their quota, meaning less
ipod the adverising company has to give out (but
they still get the same amount or more leads, with
the less cost!).
Mass of the combined CSM for actual lunar landing missions was 30,329 Kg. (Encyclopedia Aeronautica).
Don't send a year supply of He3 at once. That's
a LOT of energy to escape if something goes wrong
(and I don't mean, "what a pitty we lost our fuel",
I mean, "where the fuck did Texas go").
Writing article about Free iPod [tinyurl.com]. Please help out.
If you are seriously writing a article on free ipod
crap why don't you link to a page that explains
a bit about your project. Otherwise you're not different
from the 12 year old kids you are internet begging
for ipods (I'm assuming that your older than 12,
could be a bad assumption).
Will you give away the ipods you get, or will
you keep them? With Xmas coming up there are
a lot of poor childern out there who are going to
get any much else other than AOL and Live linux
CDs.....
And for the record... the article is not going to have favorable things to say about the free ipod experience.
Is you writting going to be bias from the start?
Or are you writting about how the free-ipod fad
is causing a lot of REALLY ANNOYING internet begging. "I want an ipod, please give up your
privacy so I can have an ipod". Please note that
"I want a free-ipod so I write bad things about
free-ipods, please give your privacy so I can an
ipod" is in no way any different.
Oh wait, I've seen a post where you accuse somebody of being home from highschool, you're
most likely 12 years old.
Apologies on my part. I'd missed the "has a"
in a key sentence and lost the context. My bad,
I'll try to avoid posting before my morning cup
of (inserted favorate perk you up drink here).
Are you actually suggesting that other countries have had comunication networks comparable to the ones in the US for longer than the US has even existed? Given that the telegraph wasn't even invented until decades after the US broke apart from GB, that's pretty impressive.
Yes communications networks existed long before
the US existed. The Roman empire had a communications network (~0000AD) similar to a
postal/message service. Egypt had a national
communications system (postal service type)
~2400BC. As for comparable, that's subjective,
but I would say yes (consider how important
paper has been over the last few 1000years).
I realize that the US is a very young country when compared to the rest of the world.
Sir, your previous post doesn't do your knowledge
justice.
But what does that have to do with wired communication networks?
I don't know, you said that the US was pretty
much the oldest country in world, this seemed
to be some sort of excuse for doing so poorly
compared to other countries, w.r.t. broadband.
A brief out line of communication over the years
(probably not in the correct order):
The US:
Smoke signals
pony express
rail road
postal service
telegraph
land line communication (metal)
land line communication (optic)
wireless communication
Others:
Runner
the great horn
Pigeons
Arrow
horses
cannal system
rail road
postal service
telegraph
land line communication (metal)
land line communication (optic)
wireless communication
So maybe, there are infact communications
methods that did exist before the US, but
I'm sure you already knew that (hint:
focus on my spelling and grammar for a quick
come back).
I don't think I've heard any real reasons
for the US being behind, so let me toss
one out. It's the corperations that still
believe there is profit to be made by selling
things that are slightly cooler than what
you have (as opposed to things that are
majorly cooler than what you have).
<Snipped> excuses why the US didn't do better than
the other countries listed </Snipped>
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but the US has a much larger, older, and more complicated communications network in place than just about any other country in the world. It takes time to roll over to new technologies without disturbing the existing infrastructure.
Wrong. Unless you are comparing the US to countries like Israel, Taiwan and Kuwait,
but you weren't, you where comparing the US
to just about any other country in the world.
The US is a very young country when compared
with just about every country in the world.
Come back in 500 to 1000 years, then we can
talk.
I find it interesting you say this since Bush has cut taxes. If he was prying out more money, then wouldn't taxes have actually had to go up?
Because he is going to raise the amount of money
that the US can get into debt. This is the same
as raising taxes, but old people will die before
we have to pay it off
Complaints aside, it's clear from the post what the problem is. You seem to be running Firefox with the Windows Operating System. In order to fix the problem, simply uninstall Windows, and install Linux or BSD, or, better yet, throw your windows machine out the nearest window and purchase a computer capable of running MacOS X. Then install Firefox and you will find your problems disappear.
Actually, no, I upgraded to 1.0 and it's noticable
worse. It crashes a bit, and just on certain websites. It also takes up a fair chunk of CPU time when it's doing nothing, I've gotta kill it
before playing video games, something I didn't have
to do on the PR and 0.x versions.
However, buggy software isn't really news......although this crashing and CPU crunching is
why I started using firefox in the first place...
There is a valid question of your results because they contradict scientific experiments. The triple point of CO2 is -57 C at 5 atm. For dry ice to form the temperature must be -80 C. By shaking it around you may have warmed it up, subliming some CO2 and increasing the pressure. Since 5 atm (absolute) is about 60 psi (gauge pressure), its unlikely that your bottle could have supported that much pressure. Your bottle probably could not support 20 psi (which would be equivalent to a force on the cap of about 15 lbs-
I'm not really been able to accurate identify
the vessel the original experiment claims to have
used. But I do know that a 1liter plastic
coke or soda bottle can be pressurized up to
over 100psi without any milkyness or crazing
of the plastic.
-You can test this, hold a bottle upside down, drill a hole in the cap and attach a 15 lb barbell. See if it holds). You most likely saw water condensation (from the air in the bottle) or melting (from water that was part of the dry ice).
This experiment doesn't demostrate anything to
do with internal pressure. The main factor of interest is whether a soda bottle could hold
over 60psi of internal pressure, your experiment
would be testing external pressure.
There are different forces and physics coming
into play with external verse internal pressure.
The vessel skin in under compressing force with
external pressure. With internal pressure it
is under a tension force.
So, assuming your figure of 60psi is correct,
I believe the original poster did in fact have
liquid CO2 in his bottle. If it is really 780psi
for liquification of C02, then it was most likely
water condensation.
Try coming to China sometime before spouting off with bullshit like this. Do you think there is some sort of goverment squad that goes around executing bosses of companies that have nothing to do with the goverment anyways? Get real.
Electronic Arts must have many Chinese bosses. They tend to brutalize their workers.
No, if they where Chinese I'm sure there would
have been a marked increase in ouput/productivity.
This is typical American bosses at work (oh do I
so wish it wasn't so), drag every ounce of work out
of the employee because it's getting your money's
worth (it doesn't matter about productivity -
I guess EA hasn't hired any managers who read
"the Mythical man month").
One other thing about Chinses bosses, they
get executed if productivity doesn't go up
(can somebody provide a link to that C.2000
story?).
Wait a minute, I know what's going on. It's all
about those chimps that we sent into space and
they came back super smart. I guess NASA would
like the same to happen to humans.
Btw, there was a plan to make one of those super
smart chimps president of united states of america,
but at the last minutes somebody switch the smart
chimp for a slightly dumper than average chimp.
Funny thing is the dump chimp still became president....
That is not the case. "Best" Buy wants customers that spend money in their stores and _never_ return an item. They want customers that do not compain, customers that are 100% happy with any crap "Best" Buy sells them.
I hope "Best" Buy goes down hard. They don't give one crap about their customers. "Best" Buy doesn't even come close to having the "Best" prices on items. Compare "Best" Buy with online-retailers, and you will see that "Best" Buy doesn't even come close in price.
Well, if you really want to see "Best" Buy
go down why don't put your money where your mouth
is (excuse the term, I don't mean to be offensive). You now have the exact
profile of the type of person who is bringing them
down. Hell, you can even make money while you
bring them down according to the FA.
When you are instantly rejected for a return
or just straight escorted out of every store
as soon as the bio-meteric face scan identifies
you, then you know that you've played your part.
Everything get from them after that is just
another nail in the coffin. Death to "Best" Buy!
At first I was worried I was in the big ticket
item buying catogory, but then I remembered that
everything big I've bought (dishwash, fridge,
toaster?,blender?), my wife has haggled with the
floor saleman, resulting in buying the floor
model for $$$$ off the sale price of another
model. Gotta love that...
But I really want to start buying things
in cash off the staff for a fraction of
the retail price, that's what will
really bring them crashing down
(only joking! heh).
Well I guess that about says it. Either you're against polution or against jobs. Take your pick.
Mean while the changes Kyoto has forced companies in other countries to make has actually saved them
money without having to lay anybody off. Less
pollution equals less waste, which means more product for the same amount of resouces.
This is all spin so Bush can't be forced to make
fuel efficiency something that has to happen.
Fuel efficiency means less energy needs, means less profits for the companies
selling energy....
Kyoto == waste less.
USA == waste more == job incease.
Do you remember another country that thought
it could create more jobs by doing things
very ineffeciently? Do you think it worked?
2) price lowest barebones case that comes *with* mobo, power supply, CPU
3) add hdd and one memory stick (as well as CD player if needed), do not add MS operating system, aftermarket software, video card, sound card, or other overpriced extras
4) pay between $120 and $150 with free shipping
I recently did a similar thing, but I bought a
VIA EDEN 533MHz c3 (built in, network, video,
sound) for $94 new. I've plently of 128MB
PC100 memory laying around do nothing and a
few older hard drives. So for a round a $100
you get a very quiet working computer (and you
get to recycle some older parts).
I recently upgraded to the VIA EDEN M10000 which
is the 1GHz version of the above. Slightly
more money ($140) but you get a built in 3D
video card and Fire-wire. Both work fine
under linux, I've not came across a feature
that I couldn't get working.

He3 fallout from a war a long time ago.
A He3 space tanker crashed into the moon a long time ago.

That fact you don't know leaves me thinking, you didn't RTFA... which is kind of funny since you act like you know "he has".
Please, don't bother, you're not helpful.
How much?
I'll bet you are wrong about most things.

Just wondering. {Toke} {Toke} *cough* {pass to the left}...
I'm all for the way China handle this type of thing: China to execute corrupt boss
I doubt China wouldn't execute EA execs (although maybe they should), but I'm sure Enron type bosses would get the, heh, chop.
