I'm not entirely sure that @Home is relevant.

Let me begin by saying that my cable co is Rogers and I live in Ontario, Canada.

Long before @Home came along, I had cable internet through Rogers. Back then it was called Rogers Wave. IIRC there was also Shaw Wave and so on. Once @Home came along our service was changed to Rogers@Home. What the exact arrangement between the two companies is, I can't say, but I imagine Rogers is buying a service from @Home in this case.

Regardless, if the day arrives that @Home dies I fully expect that my service will go back to being good old Rogers Wave or something else.

I never wanted an "online service" anyway. I much prefer a simple ISP.

The lower the boiling point, the higher pressure required to keep it in a liquid state at room temperature.

Propane boils at about -40 degrees (C or F)

That'll give ya a rough idea of how much harder hydrogen is to deal with.

    No kidding.
People seem to be ignoring the real possibility of a heatsink and fan coming off.
Chips run so hot these days (especially Athlons) that motherboards are quite literally bending under the strain of heatsink retaining clips.

I hope AMD does help establish a performance rating system that isn't determined by AMD alone.
It would be far too easy for AMD to say "We need this chip to do well, so play it up a bit."
AMD is a company above all else and they're here to make money.

    1 "PR Connector"

and of course, a little TV

We formatted 512k as a RAMdisk and loaded all the menus into that for faster loading.
We ran that for about a year, then referred our callers to a friend's board.

A few years later I was back into the BBS scene on a 286. I have friends on my ICQ list I met through BBS's. I even dated a girl I met on one for a while.

The Tualatin does perform very well right now, but it doesn't have much of a future.
It still uses the aging FPU of the PIII. It will likely never be capable of reaching clock speeds as high as the P4.
Tualatin may hold its own against the current P4, but soon the P4 will also get a die shrink. Once the P4 reaches a high enough clock speed it *should* stop suffering from its own long pipeline.
I actually don't like the current P4, but I think it's a bit too early to write its epitaph.

Tualatin is a great chip, but it wouldn't make sense to call it P5.

I don't believe these people had any idea that the plane they were on was to be used as a terrorist weapon and that the plan was that they were all to die anyway.
When a plane is hijacked, the assumption (based on history) is that it will be landed somewhere and that the people on it will be held until such time as their government negotiates for their release. Keeping that in mind, the passengers will be inclined (and rightly so) to cooperate with the hijackers and wait for the negotiations.

I don't think it's unreasonable to believe that 60 unarmed passengers can overwhelm 3 to 5 terrorists armed with knives.
I would hope that if these people knew they were going to die anyway that they would band together and try to overpower the terrorists and at least try to minimize the casualties to the unfortunate passengers on the plane by crashing it into an unpopulated area.
Perhaps this is what happened in Pennsylvania.
Having never been in such a situation I can't honestly say, but I'd like to think it's what I would do.
