The list of new shows on tonight is what i missed the most as well.
What's wierd is I can't even really put my finger on it, but everything about TV Tome fit my needs and worked well, and none of the other sites seems to serve the same purpose TV Tome did.
I now use a combination of Epguides.com for history and tv.zap2it.com for whats on tonight (Their "Tonight's Best Bet" section).

I call it the Pokemon Phenomenon (or effect)... it's the same mentality that makes you want to "catch 'em all".
It's a nice feeling when you have a "complete" set. Like hockey cards, coins, stamps, TV episodes (back when you had to try to record reruns to get em all). Or even reconciling your credit card bill with receipts and having everything match up...
I have to disagree. Linux and other open source software aren't targetted, not because of the quality of the code, but because less people use it. Also, those who do are less likely to unintentionally "aid" the spread of the virus. Thus, the main reason linux isn't targetted more by viruses is because it's not as worth it to right a virus for linux. If linux had 50% of the install base of desktops, you can bet your bottom dollar it'll be seeing a lot more viruses... maybe not 50%, but definitely a whole lot more than it's seeing now.
This probably won't unleash some sudden barrage of viruses targetting windows 2000, but more than likely it will help virus writers or such miscreants from causing the trouble they look to cause.
True, but to actually have the odds on your side by counting cards, you have no margin to change your betting strategies to avoid detection by a computer.
IIRC, even with perfect card counting with some of the best counting methods, and adjusting your bets accordingly, your odds are still only something like 50.5 to 49.5.
Amazing enough that you have better odds than the house, but it doesn't give you much room to "back off a bit".
I don't know about you... but alladvantage worked out pretty well for me... At my peak I was getting $300 dollar cheques every month... before they changed the model to the "lottery" style.
The GameCube is an excellent design, in my opinion, with digital hub aspirations of its own.
Yes, the Gamecube is an excellent design, but it does not have any "digital hub" aspirations. Nintendo has made it very clear that the gamecube is a video game console, and nothing more. It's not trying to be a DVD player, etc, like the other consoles.
Hmm... I seem to recall the same thing said about Yahoo, Netscape, or even Pointcast Network.... I mean.. just 5 years ago people would ask me if I had Netscape... not the internet... Considering how "Young" the internet is in the grand scheme of things, the fact that people use google as a verb doesn't mean it's gonna be "the best there is, the best there was, or the best there ever will be".
Plus... we all know there are ways microsoft can "overcome" someone elses popularity.
When the games don't work, most people blow and pray... and shove the game in as hard and far back as possible...
I've found that the easiest ways to get games to load good as new is to just not push it in all the way...
Push it just so that you can feel the game has "made contact" inside the system and everything should be good to go.. (this is cause most of the time the part worn out is the "root" of the connector inside)
It'll be like brand new... or atleast for another 5 years until you wear out the tips of the connector...)
and I'm sure some of you are... but I find it interesting how everyone likes to go on about the legalities of this lawsuit as if it's a really idiotic move...
Like I said, I'm not a lawyer... but I'm pretty sure the good folks at Sharman Networks aren't idiots either... and I'm sure this lawsuit was well thought out...
Perhaps their motives dig deeper than most of us are looking?
Just a thought...
(either way, it'll be interesting to see how this plays out)
What'd be cool is if there was an agreement between the major ROM copyright holders to allow some company to put all the old ROMs on one CD and sell, then split an amount between them.
Ummm... Why doesn't the copyright holder just sell the cd's themselves, and that way they wouldn't have to split the cost to "some company".
Futureshop / Best Buys will have them in on the 20th. (Or atleast that's what the sales rep said).

C'mon, we all know that the correct way to say this statement is:
"now that's getting borken"
"borken" eh?
Dude,
Just go to the middle of a room, then go:
up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, select, start... It always works!
Is there really a need for the title of the article to include "Windows users" when the audience to his website are infact, windows users?
if it's any consolation... I'm from burnaby too.
I don't know about you... but alladvantage worked out pretty well for me... At my peak I was getting $300 dollar cheques every month... before they changed the model to the "lottery" style.
All it took was around 10 direct referals...
Dude, Don't you know? Type R stickers automatically adds 10HP to any car!
Here's the proof

I think the collecting this is exactly it.
It's something I've experience and I've named it the pokemon phenomenon...
"gotta catch'em all"
Not that it really effects me with Music and Mp3's...
But I record TV shows compulsively doing what I can to have "complete" collections of certain series I like...
I'm one of those freaks that has every single MAME rom, NES rom, etc...
It's the passion to collect...
I'd equate it to collecting coins or stamps or even rocks.
You just want to have that "complete" feeling... it has nothing to do with you desiring each individual "rock"...

Hmm...
No Seriously, the anonymous coward has a semi-good point...
What is the point of IRC without the "l337" file sharing?
Hasn't its chatting capabilities been made obsolete by Instant Messengers and chat rooms such as Yahoo! chat?

"5 Kazaa's will pop up" 5 more Kazaa's don't have to pop up... we'll just be stuck with Kazaa 2.0.2

Doesn't matter how good the products are, if people want to pirate them, they will.
Now, if the packaging is sweetass, that's a different issue.
How exactly these "keys" work?
I hear about them all the time, but I've yet to understand how exactly they work.
With Kazaa...
So join the cause and use Kazaa =)
Dude, Did you finish reading your own quote?
Why sell it now?
Same with my university... I'll die using the schools new webmail system before I give in and use Mutt...
Plus, What the hell are you doing reading a site thats has News for Nerds when you don't know what a GBA is?
