Ever remember rummaging through your parents/grandparents collection of records/albums/books? How much would it mean to you to discover their tastes in music/literature, perhaps when they're no longer there? How much would it mean to you to be able share the same with your children? You couldn't legally do that with digital content.

I know we hate them and all, but why can't we take just a little bit of sympathy?

Umm... I would think an exact replica of yourself would probably object to sharing your earnings with someone who didn't do any of the work.

You'd think they'd make a big deal of providing a lossless format. But from the quick look I've take nowhere does it mention the FLAC format is used.

OK. I've decided that I'm no longer buying anymore music which will provide revenue for RIAA. Here's the catch: how does one tell if music you buy will eventually contribute to the RIAA's funds?

The US Government doesn't seem to give a toss about what the rest of the world thinks. As long as those campaign contributions keep pouring in nothing else matters. (Don't you just love democracy.)
