Its more then passed time. Google "fair tax act 2003" we need to get this bill passed. Lets get rid of all of this tax everything bs and the IRS right along with it. This is a huge bill and would change everyones life for the better. You would for the first time in your life get your whole paycheck. Company's would flock back to the US and we would have a hard time filling all the positions. Read about it and then tell people. It's our country, lets take it back, get involved, get informed and let's make it happen.
You can represent youself.... and when the case is thrown out of court for the BS that it is. You can assess your fee at 500 dollars an hour then counter sue for lost wages etc. There is nothing mistical about the law.... And if you lose you can plead ineffective cousel on appeal. You can keep them tied up in court for years yourself with very little effort.
not to metion.... most music files on p2p networks are mp3. That is not loss less. You can bitch about it all you want but music off the CD and music from an mp3 are not the same. The meat world laws deal with duplicate CD's not CD's full of mp3 files. The 2 are not the same.
Amen... it adds another layer of bs on top of all the other bs. What is the benefit to the consumer?
There are places that could use that level of protection I am sure. But lem them choose for themselves!
DRM is nothing more vender lockin on a grand scale. Be it software or a distribution channel.
All this talk of DRM and IP are giving me heart burn. I remember when people in the "computer biz" and "software game" wanted to be better then then the common 1900's businessman. Well in that we have failed... we have take unethical to a new level. God help us all.
If you are bent on an DX9 card wait untill the FX5600ultra version 2 (NV31 is what you want NV34 is slower strange but true) is out in number. There are only 2 OEM's out with ultra cards and they are version 1. Also the FX5800ultra and FX5800 should bring prices down. I just researched up on cards for my own use. Me... I got a G4 Ti4200, and another 512 sick for my system. I only run Linux.
* rocks * hands * brains... after all this is where the plan and conception of such devices came from.

Right on... I have a dlink 614+ with the new firmware. I get x2 with the x4 enabled. Plus I have a Zaurus with cf-WiFi. The cf bus is not fast enough for the "old" 802.11G and I already knew about the mixed speed drop. So I went to the TI chips. I think I made the right choice.

This is the funnest thing I have read in a very long time. I always thought that it would be a good project for someone with too much time to turn that "whizzing output" in to some type of ansi animation as a program builds in gcc.
Right on the money. Gray Davis shoud go down in history as the wost Govenor in American history. Any anyone with half a brain left should get the hell out of that State.
Wussie... I had to have boot disks and striped down config.sys and autoexec.bat files. Not to mention pharlab extender. And who can forget our friend the ixp driver and mscdex.exe and eveyone's favorite, set blaster statement.
All that and, as I recall the stores were chock full of games for DOS.
- Fair Tax Act -
We lose 20-30% of our buying power due to taxes.
This is the only bill I have seen in 10 years that can fix all of this.
Write your rep a real letter and ask them to co-sign it. Lets get it on the floor. Its time to for a change.

We have shown remarkable restraint with the rest of the world. Considering what happened on our own soil.
I got a fever baby! The only cure is more cowbell!
If SCO ever attempts somthing like this. I would insist that SCO be brought up on Fedral charges.

It is called a lure, you fish with it! Computer people should get out more!
Now move alone folks nothing new here.
This reminds me of the current trend to re-write every law on the books to deal with computers systems. We don't need it, just use your heads folks.

It's called a Hedge. People do it all the time in the stock market. You don't get rich quick but you wont lose all your money either.

I have a working 486DX-50 in my closet. My first system... and I can't part with it. Its an EISA bus too. Was a smoker in its day.

Then they could really say their code is art.
Right, and did Bill go to the UN for any of it? Hell no. He just bombed away.

But if MSFT had WMD's they would get the pointy stick. That is for sure.
"I would have thought the lawyers would at least do a little proofreading and fact checking."
Fact checking costs money. SCO does not have any money.
Hey this is great. It should take out all those morons that still have code-red banging on my webserver.
Please..... That remark is not very nice to Dan Marino.
I could have done just as well in those cases with no training. Where as I could not have done as well as Dan Marino even in a game the Dolphins lost.
In the court room there is no second prize.
