Who said that mandrake is not stable? I have never had a problem, I started with 5.1 just to not have to rebuild kde. I think that alot of newbies using mdk have given it a bad rap. The fact is they just don't know how to fix the little problems that do come up now and then. Linux is Linux, I roll my own kernels and if I don't like a config I vi it tell I do.
Look at.net, it's thin client all over again. The desk top is already a lost cause for MSFT. their biggest problem, it the own OS's from the WIN9X line and NT/2K. It will be a hard road to hoe to XP. Linux just keeps getting better and better, we have faith in linux can you say the same thing about MS. No, Linux on the desktop is doing very well and will continue to make in roads. These people are just trying to make nosie, dont listen. Go about your work.
Then it is our job to make the world safe for our
children. I hate to say it but you grandmums time it past. Just because the uninformed don't
see the problems here, does not make it ok. This is a REPUBLIC not a DEMOCRACY. We live by the rule of LAW. And the LAW is what MSFT has broken and must be held accountable for.
There is no per seat fee with HPUX they are all unlimited now. HPUX is a POS, The only reason it is still around in the installed base, If you could get Linux on most HP9000's with support, people would switch in droves. And yes UPUX LVM is very good, but service guard is what keeps most people on HPSUX.
What a bunch of crap. This man is NOT a US Citizen. The law does not apply to him at all. He did not do anything wrong while he was here,
also you can plead any way you want. I would not plead guilty to anything, if I did it or not. If you do, then you know nothing about the LAW.
OK lets shut down infected boxes -
on
Code Red III

· Score: 1, Redundant
Why can't we use the open cmd.exe to shutdown the IIS service on the infected boxes. I would like to know how to take control of an infected box and do just that. I don't know if it would be legal but, clogging up my connection will crap and not patching your server is just as bad. What is stopping us? Someone post how to do it please, I will shutdown all the boxes attacking me and if enuff people do it, we might just stop this bitch.
That sounds fine, but it won't work. I hate to say it, but most people are really stupid. Have you ever talked to a layman about the problems with XP, and watched their eyes glaze over. No, people will buy PCs with XP and not know any better. They will all sign up on passport and that will be that. I fear that a law protecting the common public is in order here.
We as the Tech savy should take it up and inform as many people as we can about XP and the evil that it is. But again, the public at large will eat it up. And the Linux freaks might just make matters worse. Remember most people still don't understand what the DOJ case is about.
Who says they cant take it back? Did you ever hear of a product recall? It would cost MSFT millions to do, but who cares. They should know better by now.
The FOF was never in question. The MSFT just tried to spin the last battle. It was a bad day for MSFT and they are just getting what they deserve.
Now, open the API's and file formats, put them on the same diet as IBM. And fine the hell out of them. No more preloading only MSFT products on PCs and Servers. Give the consumers choice, and make the OEM's buy back unused Licenses like the EULA states or declare it null and void.
Yea but, when that Author looks around and nobody is listening, watching , or reading the work he is protecting. Then what? This is a bunch of crap. Bite the hand that feeds you, piss off the fans. They will turn away in time and markets will fall. If there is no demand... ahh now you see. People who respect that Author will pay for his works, let the others have their fun.
I would like to see that. As they are a US based company. Then they could revolk their charter. It would make it a good day for every but their share holders.
I listen to him on the way home. I think they have found something more intresting off the cost of Cuba. This is what I would like to see. I hope his back gets better.
They already did, It was in the news a few years back. I don't recall the company that bought them, but if was from a few states, FL and others. I think it was for a credit card id check system. Who knows where they have be sold to now?

I run programs as root all the time on Linux. I have never had a Linux program bring down the whole OS. I have had X corrupt my TDFX module and leave my consol un/semiun usable, but the system stays up.

Direct access to hardware. Whos fault is that? Mine? If I recall DOS did the same thing. I never had DOS crash on me half as much as WIN9X. Win9X is crap, a shell for playing games.
They call Linux a toy! Toys have ways of hurting people who do not respect them.
I found the problem just the other day. I did rebuild tdfx.o from the CVS too, so it is still
broken. X 4.0.3 does the same thing to me. I just want to get KDE 2.1.1. I have KDE 2.1 and X 4.0.2 now, on a hacked up MDK7.2 with glib2.2. On well I will just wait, or get a new card. BTW
what is the best 3D card for Linux right now?
No I hate that too. I also find that the wheel mouse in linux is way to klunky, if rolls down to much. While I am bitch about it, I wish it would import my Netscape mail filters too. BTW I am posting with 9.1 right now:)
Trust me. The list of reasons is too long to post.
I have yet to see anyway around the problems with
the current tech or public sentiment. For every
reason they ANYONE gives me that it is a good idea
and will work, I can give you 2-5 why it wont.
Give the people a reason to do it. Most people on the web still have modems. Does your new spiffy code speed up downloads and cut cruft? If you want people to upgrade because you need them to wait longer for your new java applet to load, you are crazy. Man I tell you that friggin Internet is outta control, we can't force people to do what we want. Give me a break. ISP's can try to spead the word but they can't force a person to do anyting. I think the wide range of clients out there keeps thing honest really, don't like it tuff titty.
I watch my...uh...Multimedia Presentations with aviplay. It does asf as well. ;)

Anyone who has quake3 needs to try the Urban Terror TC mod. This thing rocks better then the
real game, if you ask me. See you in the streets.
Yea A non-lethal lead bag projectile would do the trick
It is only War if it was declared, I don't recall the USA being at War with anyone at the time of the attacks.

They will lose it and then you will not exist. :)
I thought it was all the cows and pigs farting.

We have more guns then people in the USA. No own would dare come a shore here. We would just open up huntin season. Get my drift.
