  1. Artists on MPAA Developing Digital Fingerprinting Technology · · Score: 2, Informative

Musical Artists make most of their money from concert sales. Most of them have prohibitive contracts where all of the money ends up in the hands of others. If an artist is good, people go to their concert.

I could not agree more. Serious web designers should not rely on Dreamweaver. It never renders the page exactly as it appears in IE or Firefox. I use includes and requires in PHP whenever doing a large site. CSS handles any kind of templating I need to do which I can do in a text editor. I like ultra edit for editing my files.

Too true. My idea would require an upgrade to the email system to ensure the person who sent the email intended to send it and put an end to spoofing.

  12. There is one solution on CAN-SPAM Is A Bust · · Score: 1

It is a pain in the ass, but it will destroy all spam. Set all of your email accounts to only receive mail from people who are in your address book. You'll have to add new people when you want them to email you, but you won't ever get another spam. Of course this doesn't solve the problem of the server having to handle all the spam, but at least the end user won't be bothered by it. Hopefully, after receiving no responses from anyone, the spammers will be forced to give up. Wishful thinking I suppose.

Most users are pretty dim, but even if you get their incorrectly labeled mail in your catch all you are likely to have to deal with them in order to find out who they were looking for and to correct them from using the incorrect address over and over. You can only put up with forwarding their mail for so long. I would bypass the catch all address. The only actual benefit of NOT having the catch all is that the spammer's server will have to handle all the mail that is bounced back and possibly slow its output of spam. One can hope anyway...

...the theory that heat was a substance. I'm not a scientist but I pretend to be one on the internet. As far as I know Dark Matter was a BS theory made up to explain missing mass in the universe. There is absolutely no evidence of its existence. Every test they've done has been completely inconclusive. It is not a good thing to make up random shit to explain something you don't understand. It leads to people mistrusting science and drives them right to religion for explanations.

For years people believed that heat was a substance because it was the prevailing theory in the scientific community even though there was no evidence supporting it AND there was clear evidence refuting it. Obviously if heat was a substance something would gain mass as it heats up, but all measurements pointed to the contrary. I do not understand why idiots with PHDs or idiots trying to get PHDs persist in trying to prove this BS.

Every time you open your mouth you are expressing your opinion in some way and trying to influence others. Even simple statements like "I'm hungry" in some way influences others. You are taking what you consider human rights for granted. There are lots of people that don't believe in human rights. Many cultures don't even believe in a right to live. They will kill other members of their society to ensure the survival of the whole. In no way did he state that people want to be opressed. Nor is it a justification for it. In fact it is quite the opposite. We all have a survival instinct but people in some cultures are more willing to accept the doctrine of their society than we do. As we become more intelligent and knowledgeable we come to understand our world better and see lies for what they are. This is what differentiates the more advanced societies. If our concept of human rights isn't a statement that our culture is better, then there is no reason to go into other countries and help out the oppressed. Its called cultural relativism. You can not accept relativism because it is logically flawed. If there is no right and wrong, then there is nothing. There is no reason for me to not kill someone who pisses me off. There is no reason for me to not randomly punch people in the nose. You also completely contradicted yourself.
