No. They were ordinary men. Do not ever paint some people as *EVIL*, because you paint yourself as a saint and above reproch.
Umm...are you kidding me? That is one of the most illogical statement ever.
Everybody thinks he is Righteous no matter what they do.
No.. some just don't care. I know I am not a saint. I try to do right, but I don't always.
The US may not have gassed people at Guantanamo but most of the world consider the treatment torture.
Did you mean Abu Ghraib? I am not trying to be sarcastic but a lot of people are confusing the two places. Most of the "torture" I hear about from Guantanamo is forcing prisoners to eat pork and drink alcohol, along with subjecting male prisoners to the horrible torture of having women rub their breasts on them. Oh and apparently some were subjected to nights of 4 hours of sleep. So pretty much that describes my life as a college student minus women rubbing their breasts on my back. I think they are stretching the definition of torture. Of course, there are those in the world that think that having women ruling over men is torture in and of itself.
And the supposed democracy of American turned it's cheek and said "We are good and righteous and justified and they probably deserved it anyway, besides we wouldn't do anything really wrong since we are good and the evil are always someone other than us"
We are not perfect, no and we are not a democracy we are a constitutional republic.
That's what they said in Germany so long ago. Humans are Humans, and we all have the potential for being evil in us - if you deny that, you are closer to the fall than those who recognize it as the truth.
I fail to recognize that. I will recognize people will do horrible things if pressured to do so or if you get evil people that are like minded together.
A friend just said, after reading it, "wow... how come I feel that i was just glared at by the SS?"
I am guessing your friend feels like that because he is an idiot. No I am serious, this is not flamebait, why not see what the SS did
The MPAA is full of retards, but the SS were truly sadistic, evil men and as such comparisons should be used with great deliberance... not as an off the cuff remark.
Salesman: Well, do you need a paperweight? 'Cause if you buy that machine, that's all you're going to have, an expensive paperweight.
Homer: Well, a paperweight would be nice, but what I really need is a computer. How about that one? [points to a second machine]
Salesman: That technology is three months old. Only suckers buy out-of-date machines. You're not a sucker, are you sir?
Homer: Heavens no!
Salesman: Oh good, because if you were, I'd have to ask you to leave the store.
Homer: I just need something to receive email.
Salesman: [whistles] You'll need a top-of-the-line machine for that. [shows Homer a top-of-the-budget machine] That's the same computer astronauts use to do their taxes.

Because one would assume the price of bottled water would go up. At some point, it no longer becomes worth it to some to have bottled water. They then drink tap water. So the price is not determined by competitors but by what one is willing to pay before they decide that the quality difference is not that great.
If they merge, I hope they can bring back some of the old XM stations that are currently online only like On the Rocks, Special X etc.
being American means ignoring facts that you don't like
You must be (western) European because only they are that arrogant. The grandparent was stating something very relevant to Americans. We get our energy through buring fossil fuels. Nuclear and green options consitute a small part of our power consumption. It doesn't have to though. Nuke juice would be plenty fine by me, and believe me when I say it is not the conservatives that object to this method of cranking out the 120 (or 220 in your case?)
Please do not take this to be sarcastic in any way what so ever, but, and I am seriously curious, why does Jesus getting tortured save allow everyone else to go to heaven?
I am a Christian in the sense that I believe that Jesus was probably God in flesh, but I don't have any religious training. It never made much sense to me, and tonight being a significant night, I was curious.
I would put American Beer up against any other nation's. German beer, the much hyped stuff does not stack up against our best stuff (though Ayinger's line is excellent). Our best stuff is not from the big three of course, they are from little breweries you probably have never heard of. Not only that, they are pushing the envelope of beer. The innovation is here, while the rest of Europe farts around strangled by the Reinheitsgebot (or however you spell that)
Why is that bad? I often eat chocolate with coffee (like a Chocolate Chip Cookie). I would think some good Italian Chocolate (which is kind of funny, a country that no one thinks of for their chocolate has some really great stuff) could be a winner.
Totally disagree, I think the Cafe Verona is a decent coffee:)
Of course most lattes add milk syrup foam cream whipped cream etc so you could add it to water and it would probably still taste okay.
Einstein's Bagels, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks all have better coffee than most work places. I was lucky that mine that a cappucino maker downstairs that made the sub part coffee (though still better than most places) better.
Oh. My. God. Please tell me you're kidding. If you think that the weight of the astronauts and the food make up even a tiny fraction of an appreciable percentage of the weight of the station as a whole, you need to do a little reading. Their weight loss wouldn't throw the station's orbit off if they jumped out the airlock, much less lost a few love handles.
Virg
I believe you mean that they make up a small percentage of the station's mass as a whole
Ah ha, but on an Intel processor 0.99999999999 is one! Actually so is.89 I believe;)

That would be me. Of course, I live in a European country where we the people have decided to put in safeguards to stop capital owners, whom we will gladly work with, from working us to the bone. In practical terms, that means 36.25 hours per week.
What is the unemployment like in your country?
Can you work more hours a week if you want to? I am in school right now, but when I was working over the summer, I almost always worked 8-9 hours a day because there was a need to do so. There were days when I got off early too which was cool but it was strictly a gift from my boss.
What I want to know is what makes you think it is your right to dictate the terms of your employment to your boss. If you don't like the offer, work for someone else.
Just what we needed. They will probably use these "mopisodes" to push more right wing crap down our throats.
I know right! God, everytime I put on Faux news I get revolted. It is so biased, so right wing, it just drives me nuts.
I watch it everyday and it gets me to the point of mental and physical exhaustion. If only, oh dead god please, there was just another way to get information other than watching fox.
If some people in the networks know, why shouldn't all of us?
Because others won't vote? If you decide whether or not to participate in our democracy by what other people have done, then you shouldn't be voting in the first place.
You sure can make an amp with one transitor. In fact it can also rectify the signal for you (no diode for dectecting) just take your coil (100uh is good and common) and a variable cap 180-380pF connect them in parallel couple that combo to a voltage divider biased Common Emitter amplifier. Make the collector resistor a pot, and wala...a cheap sleazy radio with a volume control. Now make sure your headset is high impedance (which you connect to the collector (ac coupled) and ground the otherside) because an 8ohm speaker will mess with your operating point.
As an interesting note, a friend of mine built a Crystal Radio from scratch. When I say from scratch, I mean from scratch (built the speaker, the coil, the cap, the antenna, he even doped his own diode...jk) anyway he kept picking up 970wfla our strongest signal in Tampa, well my radio (described above) was only to tune to 970 so I set up my coil and cap in series put that in parallel with his tuner and suddently our overbearing signal disappeared. He said, something I made actually worked! I replied thanks, and said "I guess I found my... notch";)
this is BS, i am sorry but they are well documented as being bullies to push down prices of their suppliers with "do it or we will drop you" mantra.
Walmart is a scary company they are HUGE and our out of control. Couple that with horrible business practices and you have one nasty business machine
So you are telling me that retailers NEVER talk to suppliers and say, I know someone who will sell my product x 20% cheaper than you are. You are my supplier, but I will switch if you don't match?
That happens ALL the time! I don't think they are a monopoly by any stretch of the imagination. The only time I go to walmart or target is to buy DVDs or CDs when I am not near a Circuit City or Best Buy. They are just a monster of an organization and people will play ball to get there products sold. Eventually Walmart will start raising prices because they will be a bonafide monopoly but we are 10 years or so away from that scenario.
Oh wait, you're right. W, Karl Rove, and Dick Cheney are "people from the 60's". Ken Lay, Andy Fastow and Jeff Skilling were a bunch of freakin hippies.
Yeah because of there is group of people that are dependable and hardworking it is the hippies...
