    I'd say that number is more than 85%, in varying
    intensities, not because some web site/paper says
    so, because I have met a lot of them.

    As for treatment, I dont think there is, because you dont want to or can't be a consumer you're ill? There is no place for non-consumers in this society, so what can you do?

    A reason for the lack of motivation can come from not wanting to be in society. The easiest way to get out of it is to drop out, and since it doesnt seem easy to get to or live anywhere else, you stay dropped out.

    I really do.
    But every time I think of all of the possibilities of an open hand held computing platform, I almost cry when I actually look
    at whats being done right now, and in the
    near future.

    Another proprietary portable operating system ...
    How long have they been getting to where this stuff is actually usable for more than one or two special applications? Then they release something that does video ... WOW ... when it should have been possible years ago ...

    Whatever ... Move on ...

    it" they demand facts, figures, and spreadsheets
    for proof--and if anything goes wrong it's your

    Sure, and the same facts and figures that they
    followed initially came from people with vested
    interests, and it was called "marketing". Just
    take the idea and wrap it in something shiney,
    put twenty inch rims on it, and they will all
    dive for it.. its called PHB food.

    Yea, I wouldnt expect the true nature of reality
    to be all that simple, at least to humans, so
    how is this guy qualified to judge how much
    ""information"" is in the sequal? Of course, I
    dont see information on how he viewed the first
    Matrix ..

    Anyway, I also noted that the three matrix release
    dates, including the planned Revolutions date,
    all coincide with full moons or a couple days off.. sounds pretty unusual. Im sure they planned
    it .. buy why?

    I dont know nothin either, all I know is if a program is running on my computer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, I'd really like to have some insight as to what its doing.

    yea we got to watch it on imax at the chabot observatory, and from the beggining there would be these slight glitches and pops with the sound stopping for a bit. but after about a half an hour, the sound totally stopped, and several minutes later (i really wonder what they were doing) the screen flashes and you see a 60 foot picture of windows nt with wintv running . . .

    so he had to close the program and run it again. program works fine for a while . . . then the distortion comes back, eventually he had to restart it again (but thankfully, for them, not the computer).

    looks like wintv has a memory leak somewhere. or maybe windows. who knows . . .

    the funny part though is that someone from the back yelled several times 'use a mac!'. the unfortunate part is that i didnt know that freebsd 5.0 had been released, or i would have shouted him out with joy . . .

    I wouldnt call a Celeron based system "crappy" ...

    I've run all types of servers off of lesser machines for small networks.

    And as far as applications go, If X11 works then anything that runs on your other machines can run there ...

    If the value of open source is the fact that you
    can see the code and know what its doing, will
    anyone who audits the windows code actually want
    to use it, knowing that (most likely) full compatibility and better coding (based on windows system behavior) is offered in free software?
