Does anyone know if this guy was one of the people who tried to get the Lego Master Builder job awhile back? If not, then he probably missed out on a good chance. I looked at a bunch of the stuff they made during the "interview" for the master builder job, and they were quite amazing. So perhaps Eric wouldn't have blown away the competition, but he at least stands a shot.

I, however, will stick to building little houses and cars just like the directions indicate. :-)

So what's to stop someone from doing essentially the same thing with the laptop? Just tell it "you're still in the building" and you'd be all good. I think this is a pretty cheesy idea for security, you can always figure out a way to lie to a machine, regardless of what lie you're telling. This is less secure than a well-encrypted password if you ask me, or course I assume that the machine would still have the password as added security, so I guess that argument shouldn't carry any weight.

    2. Well, in the scheme of things it isn't a huge fee. But on the other hand, when I go to a movie I pay the money. When I buy a DVD I pay the money. Whereas with WoW, even if I don't play at all in a given month (and let's face it we have all been that busy at work/school) then I still pay for the month no matter what. It's the same with EQ, and the reason I will never in my life play an MMoRPG. What if I want to take a month off and play something else? Here at work (granted we get about 20% discount from the local computer shop) we get all intel machines, about 3Ghz, decent vid card, and at least 512 RAM all for about $800. This machine runs all but the mighteiest games with no problem. Now add a 17 inch flat panel on slickdeals for about $200 and we're back to the $1000 price point. And this is a high quality all Intel machine. Now I know that doesn't mean it is better hardware than the Mac, but it is a good solid machine that will do most everything that an owner would want, and for much cheaper than the Mac.

Unless you just don't like Windows (which I can understand for a lot of people) there is no real reason to pay the extra for the Mac other than their admittedly great style.
