But what I need for work and personal stuff is a memory stick ethernet adapter or modem I'm not gonna be picky about it just something that was ultimately the reason i switched was the lack of expandability for it and even with 16 megs built in memory (mine had much less) and a 8 meg memory stick (which are freekin expensive compaq flash is cheap)
I think that the handheld market needs a few things before it moves further first. If your going to have the ability to play MP3's on your handheld device have the ability to store more than 3 songs 2 CD's worth's would be nice and not have to clear out all my programs to do so is a plus if you cant do this and i have to change memory stick (or what ever type of external mem that is being used) every 2 songs don't bother putting that feature in because you will save more money in the long run on product price
And keep it small and light (Sony has done a wonderful job at this and most palm devices winCE are a bit larger) if it is as heavy as my laptop in a different form factor and gets as hot (granted none of the handhelds today do this but I could see a iPaq7835 having cooling fans) and give it a vibrate function because I'll be damned if any one ever hears that pizo speaker beeping in your pocket or case
Well I'm getting of track and forgetting why I was pissed to begin with so that about wraps this up
well to start the majority of programs to you goto start --> programs so you START processes from the start menu shutdown is a process just like everything else
Actually I am downloading it right now (I am at work) to test out on a development box I use to try out 'new' things and see how they work against current releases if it offers a major improvement than I know that when it gets to a stable version I can/should use it and since I have used the development kernels up to that point i have fairly good understanding of it
turn your computer around that way all your connectors are in the front now you have a mess of wires in front of your computer... happy? didnt think so their in the back to get them out of the way most people dont want anything confusing a power and reset button are almost too confusing for alot of users i know
"When the day comes that we can grow new eyes (Livers, Hearts, Lungs, etc...) for humans, you can kiss alot of today's medical problems good-bye"
The problems would still be their we would just be able to give people a replacement. This seems at first like a great thing but what is to stop some one from getting an overhaul every 30 -40 years replace every organ in their body (we've all seen the sci-fi movie where the bad guy takes organs from people he has killed to keep him self alive) but is living forever... or at least until the brain wears out a good thing? Heck why stop their if we could just use some advanced MRI scanner you could image the brain and load it in a computer and interface the computer to the body (or robotic body) and live forever but when in all that mess do i stop being me once i have replaced all my body parts and have an electronic brain (that could be copied for backup incase anything happens to me) is it still me? And what if I copy myself are both of them me? They would think so... I would just point out that starting to replacing bodily organs can/will open up a whole new source of problems
the problem is that they would not be able to see colors they would see like a snake and that would lead to a social outcast (not knowing what color you clothes are socks that mismatch ties that pokadotted) it wouldn't be fair to a child to do that to and we don't have any where near the technology to take out a perfectly normal adults eye and put in a modified eye with out a lot of rejection not to mention connecting the optic nerve back to the eye.
You could probably grow the eye but the wiring is not their in some one you would need 4 data streams to the brain the normal person is hardwired at birth for 3 so unless you want to run cabling from the optic nerve to the brain and make sure you don't cross any wires it would be possible, but than you would have to be trained to use it since you have been using 3 colored vision you entire life who's to say your brain isn't stubborn and decides to ignore the extra color
I was jut wondering actually how the nerves attach to the new 'rods & cones' its not like you can use a soldering iron the way it sounds is that you just put it their and hope that it aligns up right (chances tare that it will due to the density and size) but how you make sure that it doesn't float away in the eye
But when am i... going to get a hard drive that can keep up or ram that can run at the clock speed i'd much rather MRAM (Magnetic RAM) that a Processor that will idle most of time except the most extreme calculations
get a clue I'm 21 and have a good 13+ years of experence on conputers as far back as I can think I have been using computers and I around have 6 years of IT/admin exp.
