    Says the AC that has never built an aircraft.

    1) It is called "ground effect", not "ground air cushion".

    2) My first flight was a hop in ground effect down the runway. It provided valuable lessons in the handling characteristics at the moment the wheels left the ground. Extensive taxi runs had already allowed to get used to the ground handling.

    3) The short hop gave me an idea of the control authority (and that I HAD control authority), while I was in a situation to just pull power and land straight ahead.

    4) The hop was followed by a trip straight back to the hangar to verify that everything was still mechanically sound. There is no difference of the stress on the wings from a hop in ground effect and straight-n-level flight. A hop allowed me to apply those stresses and then confirm that nothing mechanical went awry. (I didn't expect anything to go awry, but better to check.)

    They run the marginal tax rate up to ridiculous levels. Billionare calls up his friendly Congress critters and says, "Heh. Remember how much fun we had at my estate that you flew on my private jet to? Shouldn't my 2,000 acre estate be considered a "farm"? And shouldn't the government support "family farms" with tax deductions? Thank you."

    Billionare somehow gets money back in April, instead of paying 9 of the 10 million he made that year in income taxes. This is the way socialism works. Has always worked. Will always work. The connected get breaks. You can't wish away human nature.

    Another way is for reader to not trust reviews. I'll often spend significant time reading reviews to determine the truth. It turns out that the fake reviews are generally very easy to spot, as they lack detail or are not consistent with the other reviews.

    I on the other hand spent a year trying to get Intel out of my life. It seemed like website were using servers that ran on that processor, or there was a government bureaucrat using a computer with an Intel Inside logo. It was really made more difficult, because I was working for Intel at the time.

    Snark aside, why exactly is she concerned that the proprietors of a website she is visiting chose to use the services of Amazon?

    The people who would have been responsible for the "planning" are the same people that decided where to put the school. Whatever they consider "sensible" got implemented, and we see the results.

    Why is there an assumption that people get smart if they land a government position?

    If you had a single clue, you might hurt yourself with it.

    Fuel injection requires a complex, failure-prone system, that is not called for in a system that almost exclusive uses three power settings. Carbs are much lighter and simpler.

    Ever had to carry a 20 ft ladder over rough terrain? Border security requested a fence instead of a wall. The main reason for that was so that they could see the people carrying the 20 ft ladder over rough terrain, and could concentrate their efforts there.

    Also, one ladder wouldn't help, unless they're willing to toss their young children off a 20 ft wall. I wouln't necessarily put that past them. They are willing to drag them across a desert, after all. They'll need to carry two ladders over rough terrain.

    The politicians can't agree on an actual budget like the constitution requires, so they agree to just keep throwing the same amount of money they've been throwing at a particular department.

    The point of the wall is to force the people you're trying to block to find other ways. Those ways will be less convenient, which will reduce the number of people to block. Maybe the people against a wall should admit that they have not clue what universe they're living in.

    Every judge does a "criminal risk assessment" before they will assign bail. And, yes, they use statistical groups. It has been an honored part of Western Justice since bail has existed.

    The question implied, but not asked would be, "If allowed to walk away unsupervised, would the young, minority joint owner ever be heard from again?" You walked, and apparently that worked, because you answered the phone each month. So, exactly what are you claiming is broken with the system?

    Would they prefer HUMANIZED risk assessment, or will they also call that racial profiling? The point they don't get is that the word "stereotype" is not a dirty word until you put "mindless" in front of it.
