    I disagree. If developers (and analysts, project mgr's etc..) do nothing to care about the market (read: at least make the product easy to change/adapt) then the best thing that could happen is a lot of money spent to match user/market requirements.

    I don't think that bandwidth sharing should be take into account. How may movies are you able to watch at the same time?
    Instead i would watch a movie or browse the web while I'm cooking in my kitchen, or having a bath.

    Let me address a few issues: Also Java is Open, estabilished, with "open" implementations, and not from Microsoft. Will this happen to be the second time the MS tryes to adapt (instead of adopt) a standard?

    I like Mac, I really love PowerBooks, but I simply can't understand why one should use a laptop computer (that I assume is not built to run 24/7) as a Server system. Yes, I understand that california blackouts can be part of the answer, but it's not enough.

    As I just mentioned the traffic (expecially when heavy) is regulated from the ground. So those interferences wouldn't have catastrophic effects.

    I saw a sort of flame in the forum section of an italian on-line gaming site ( http://www.gamelandia.it/ ). It seems they are facing users who change the score in the java applet they are playing with, with a simple memory debugger, and get those cheated scores posted and saved on the server. Since the site is giving valuable prizes (cdplayers, home mini hi-fi, car stereo etc.) they are having many troubles, and maybe are deciding to stop the game. Thi s is more than cheating, and the developer didn't provide any way to enable (and disable) this.
