    I was recently in the states, so I disallowed fbcdn.net in NoScript (just to see), and there were no complains about my Javascript setting until I returned north of the border. I have this problem in Ohio.

    but once it starts swinging in the opposite direction its practically impossible to tell if the deflection is from an opposing wind or merely the pendulum swinging. Because the motion of a simple pendulum is one of the last great unsolved problems in physics?

    One of the main differences between weather systems on Jupiter and weather systems on Earth is that Earth's systems are largely fueled by a seasonal temperature differential. The energy in Jupiter's system is centralized; almost all the energy received by its rings, moons, and atmosphere is from Jupiter itself, and is a fairly even spherical distribution.

    I always had the opposite impression of geek. While nerds and dorks may be socially out, it's because their interests lie in the "uncool" areas of the world, but if forced into a corner, they can cope.

    A geek has no hope socially, no matter what they may be into. They're just a few notches up from a spaz.
