The "^W" control character deletes the preceding word, not character. This distinguishes from "^H", which deletes only the preceding character, thus they aren't interchangable.
If you notice, I quoted you with the four words preceding "^W^W^W^W" deleted, as if the "^W"s had actually had an effect on the sentence. That made your sentence incomplete, and therefore nonsense.
Therefore "Huh?".
Granted, it wasn't worthy of Mark Twain, but it was meant to be humorous.
Stealing - To take (the property of another) without right or permission.
Take -
To capture physically; seize: take an enemy fortress.
To seize with authority; confiscate.
I don't really have an opinion on this one way or another, but your semantics bothered me. You turned ideas into things by labelling them property, and then tried to validate the word theft in this context by using a definition that included stealing. The definition of stealing includes property, which your previously defined ideas as, and the term rights, which neatly relate it to copyrights. Steal is still not a valid word however, because it implies taking. Take has to act on a tangible thing, and very obviously implies that you hold it into your possession, while depriving others of retaining it in their possession. This is not the case with copying.
I don't know enough about extrasolar systems to know if they've found that the "ecliptic" arrangement is the norm, but I imagine it is
It would be the norm. It's a consequence of the conservation of angular momentum. It is the same reason most of the moons rotate in the same way as their planet, and most of the planets rotate the same way as the sun. The planets and their moons generally orbit in the same direction as each other, and it the same orientation that they rotate. Almost all of these bodies tend to stay near the same plane. It's the reason why regular galaxies tend to be flattened disks.
As far as planets, their orbits and rotations are set when a cloud of dust and gas starts to accrete. The cloud rotates as it collapses, and the star forms at the center, and the collapsing rotating debris around it becomes planets of all sizes, already rotating and orbiting.
And how do they know what an illegal copy looks like?
Maybe this is phase I, and it's calling home with hashes and whether or not the parent or employer deemed the file legal or illegal. Perhaps in phase II, it will make recommendations based on popular responses. They do say it doesn't report to any anti-piracy group, but that could just as well mean it reports to another entity that is training a filter.
G4 had been losing to TechTV, so when the companies merged, so did the channels. From there, G4-TT just kept devolving back into G4 until it was crap again. Then they changed their name to G4. It's like the entire process was just an attempt to kill TT and take their audience.
People who use analogies for everything must be stopped. It's like if people went around handing out pamphlets with completely unrelated stories but claimed that they illustrated the truth of some subject. It's silly and shouldn't happen.
Honestly, the problem is at the protocol level. His computer says "Hey, router, can you give me a connection?" and the router says "Sure, I'll pu tyou through!"
The better analogy is if you had a really dumb doorman who authorized anyone that happened by to come in an use your house.
If someone who isn't supposed to be there gets in, is it his fault for being allowed in, is it the doorman's fault for letting him in, or is it your fault for failing to provide clear guidelines?
Hmm..

3 million is 10% of 285 million? Or is that supposed to be 10% of the 12%?

Lake spotted on Titan?

Well, besides beings merely interesting, it's nice to see what were previously thought to be Earth-unique features on other bodies. Lakes and rivers aren't really found anywhere else, maybe at one point Mars, and maybe longer ago on Venus. To find a lake and a full water cycle, even if it's really methane, is significant because that brings our counter of objects which have lakes and rain up to 2. The more often we see simliar features and objects on other bodies, the more we can expect to find a useful combination of those same features out there sometime in the distant future. For some, it's comforting to know that you're not a fluke.
Additionally, if the allies had to send in infantry, it would have likely been the russians who made the first move. We had a strong incentive to not let this happen, because we believed that if russia took it, it would likely have tried to keep it.
Shouldn't Earth gravity be balanced by detectable acceleration along the tangents to those circular motions?
It is, that's why we haven't flung off into the void, or been dragged into the Sun.
Also, we really can't judge what it's semimajor axis is unless we know how massive the star is, but if we know that, then we also have the velocity.
(6.67e-11)*M=(v^2)(r)
where M is the mass of the star.
Also, the centripetal force has a magnitude of v^2/r.
Anakin then kills Sideous (sacrificing himself) instead of allowing Sideous to kill Luke, and completes the fulfillment of the prophesy.
I had wondered since the first movie, if he doesn't restore balance to the force by becoming a Sith Lord. After all, there is nothing but Jedi for such a long time that when they see a Sith, they don't even know what it is. Too much light side for too long, and then a whole lot of dark side for a couple decades sounds balanced to me.
I see it as a way of collecting the common protests of one of the most vocal group in opposition to them. Then they run it through the spin machine and come up with pleasantly worded counterarguments that preempt any rational discussion in public forums.
I believe the term is Implied Warranty of Merchantibility.
Shouldn't you say "Don't cheat on your broad?" :)

That is really one of the more bizarre examples I've seen on /., considering you're completely serious and making a valid point to boot.
VCR is dead, netcraft confirms it!
Those would be star forming regions. They are typically dark bands peppered with fresh blue and white stars.

Just a thought.
WWFSMD?
What Would the Federated States of Micronesia Do?
They would probably use their noodly appendages to export more black pepper.
I had assumed that Starter Edition is the equivalent of the stripped down XP that they have to offer in the EU to avoid antitrust problems.

Well yes, but besides that what has the U.S. ever done?

Wow, you must have excellent memory! I can only remember back to when I was seven-eighths.

But, I think the Rockstar programmers did a great job!
