I agree, there is no way that I would give out my mobile number. It is also a stupid idea because I am often in areas where I cannot use a mobile but have access to the internet via landline, but I would not be able to log in!!! I know that if this is made mandatory, gmail will be a part of my past like Hotmail...
Your crime when you deny that Holocaust happened is not ignorance, but an attempt at social engineering conditions favorable for another Holocaust.
No, it is an opinion. I think it is wrong to say that a person cannot believe that the holocaust did not happen or that it happened differently to how history portrays it. It is not social engineering, it is just a minority opinion. There are countries where you can get into trouble for deciding that Mohammed was not a prophet or that Osama bin Ladin is an OK guy and fit to drive around town. As these are opinions I cannot see what the crime is. If you go into a synagogue and shout your opinion in a way that is guaranteed to cause offense then you are hurting people and I can see the crime but if you write a book for like minded people then that is just financial suicide.
This whole story is such a non event. Yes, as you say, no one has really said anything and nothing has really happened. No country would grant a residence permit to someone while they are under investigation. They cannot say anything as anything they do say could be taken out of context and may prejudice the case... it is all too obvious to be worth discussing. After the case has been dealt with, a decision will be made and then we can discuss whether it was the right decision.
why should 'Disagree'ing get a -1? I always thought that it was OK for people to have a different opinion and the appropriate counter was to voice the counter arguement...
I too think that the latest ATV is a severe disappointment. I think that the old ATV is a great home server that you can do what you want with. Stick in a 1TB drive and a few hacks and it is fantastic. I do not want to store everything on my laptop and the ATV saves me having to have a desktop for that purpose. All the movies and music etc. that I want to keep, I can keep without filling up my HD and I can access all that stuff on the TV. It is a great piece of kit.
The new ATV is just a tool for Apple to sell stuff from their store. Good for them but of no use to me.
I like all the off topic posts that make me realise that people are finally bored with the iPhone hype. It looks great but is a pile a poo that has you locked in... Why do all the sheeple have to own one?
Not so, most financial companies are able to see patterns. If you never travel abroad and then your credit card is used in Romania the credit card company sees a change in your pattern of use but as I travel around all the time they do not see a change in my use. I have 'TOLD' Paypal about my habits but they are unable to see my usage as not being unauthorised.
As for proxies, I guess you guys do not travel much. Paypal normally detects them and refuses to accept the login, which I respect, and they are blocked in most countries I go to. Try to use one next time you are on holiday in somewhere like Thailand. In some Arabic countries (like the UAE) that I go to, their use is actually illegal.
I find Paypal completely unusable as they freeze my account every time I use it. I am always traveling (currently in Kazakhstan) and each time I access the account they see my access as unauthorised because I am in a different country and they freeze my account until I re-authorise it by jumping through a series of hoops. I have spoken to people and complained but they are unable to see my moving around as normal for me. One time, whilst in Azerbaijan, I transferred some money from my bank account to pay for something and they froze the account with my money trapped in the Paypal account and I had to wait until I returned home (several months later) to release the money as they wanted me to be able to check the amount of a couple of payments they make into my bank account. I felt like they had stolen from me. How many unauthorised users pay money into the account? I could not use my money to pay for what I wanted to buy and had to use an actual credit card. Now I just accept that they are rubbish and I have to use actual credit cards.
Japan was out of fuel and unable to continue fighting... The Japanese were no longer a threat to anyone but there was a worry that the Russians might have invaded if they were not taken out quickly. The time for a real test of the bomb was running out as once the war ended it would not be possible to test it on real people and future test would have to return to the desert. So a nice virgin target was bombed. Nothing to do with war, it was just science. Read Children of the Ashes to get an insight into the way the people were seen as guinea pigs. Hiroshima was uranium so the second bomb, plutonium, had to be rushed out and a new virgin target found, so it could be dropped before the surrender was agreed. 6 days was a real rush.
Oh great, so we get to bitch about it and still it is all the same. People can link all the sites they like, when I was in China the people were bitching about stuff just like here. It is no different. They even have links to cases where we have been stopped from bitching.
The only real difference between the east and the west is that in the west people do not realise that the press is propaganda and in the west people "think" they are free to say what they like.
Are you saying that you have never heard of.us???.com was supposed to be for global businesses etc. The whole thing got hijacked by selfish people and then, as usual, history was re-written to suit the new reality. No business, in the UK or anywhere, HAS to use it's country identifier. Anyone should be able to use the global identifier if the business is global. The trouble comes because the selfish think that it is theirs. Some even think that they 'invented' it.
At a time of crisis, the US will cut themselves off from the rest of the world (who will continue to use the internet whether the US likes it or not) and this makes sense??? It sounds more like a case of not wanting the people of the US to know what the rest of the world thinks. Just like when GB told everyone that Al Jazeera are terrorists because they want to know what the other side are thinking. What he really meant was he only wants us to know what he wants us to know. Just as, when the US closes down the internet the rest of the world will continue to use the internet freely (although they will be unable to visit disney.com) but you will not be able to read the news that the US government is not in control of.
This is what Russia and China used to be like toward their people...
1974 was a different error. The Thai politicians were nieve but now they have learnt a lot from the world and use 'disrespecting the King' as a way to do whatever they like in the same way that other leaders use 'to defeat terrorism'. Add the magic phrase and do whatever you like with no regard to human rights or rule of law.
There are very good alternatives. www.guardian.co.uk www.dailymail.co.uk and of course news.bbc.co.uk... why would anyone miss one option? I think he may do even worse than you suggest... I certainly agree that he has no chance of retaining 10% of his current visitors.
The shipping container is going to be too damn hot to sit in,
No problem, if you set this up in somewhere like the sahara, as the article says, people will not walk to it until after dark when it is cooler. This is the same as in most third world hot countries. In the middle of the raod countries people are working in the fields etc. until after dark so they will not mind either...... I do see another problem with this though...
???? I was under the impression that Myth had provided a NoCD crack and as the Steam version would be a download the CD check security would stop a download (without a CD) from working...
"warrants" ??? you are sanctimonious. I do not have a DSL internet connection and most of the time I do not have any connection at all. Although it is hard for most people living in first world cities to imagine, the majority of computer users in the world are like me. Therefore, there is no point in me buying the retail version even though I have bought every other version since Civ II. If I want to play this one I have to buy a cracked version and I am going to play it.
They can smile with the sanctimonious idiots if they like but if they want to sell more they should think about this. I would happily pay for a good product and Civ has always been the best but I will not pay for a useless product and that is what this has just become.
Piracy has existed since Elizabethan days and now the Indian Ocean is full of pirates. There are still a lot around Malaysia and Indonesia as well but I do not know what all this has to do with Avatar.
DRM is the best advert that P2P ever had. I would not want the agravation of this even though I never trust the quality on P2P, I would be likely to think twice.
Why would you not have your cellular phone with you?
Because I am not attached to it or in love with it to the degree that I cannot live without it. Why should I have to have it with me?
More importantly, why are all these sheeple seriously considering giving their mobile number to Google? ARE YOU ALL CRAZY????
I agree, there is no way that I would give out my mobile number. It is also a stupid idea because I am often in areas where I cannot use a mobile but have access to the internet via landline, but I would not be able to log in!!! This has been done before on a much larger scale...

There is ethnic cleansing in Palestine which is far more ironic...

I am not paranoid, I just learnt to drive in the middle east....
A radar gun attached to a machine gun instead of a camera. Shame about the unfortunate pedestrians nearby but they are just collateral damage...
