EasyJet is not as cheap an airline as it is cracked up to be. All other companies in the UK advertise an inclusive price so the comparison is ruined when you compare prices with EasyJet's exclusive price. He also runs a car hire business along the same lines. I do not use either as I prefer to know where I stand and get given an inclusive price that is not going to have loads of additions later. There are many low cost options here so it is not hard to find alternatives.
I already wonder how the cinema will work... buy a ticket and then get charged for your seat? Double cost sweets and drinks? (no, they all do that) A curtain tax?
Convicted pedophiles/sex offenders could also be tracked

Autocompletion is all over the place, typing a url to text messaging on a mobile. This is so similar to all the others that I think it is about time to start charging fines for the waste of time that these applicants inflict on the gov and therefore the US tax system.
yet even if he does prove that does it make any difference. Surely (IANAL), that would only show that he had a reason to want that domain, not that it was his by any right. Unless, of course, he can show that the name was being used to pretend to be his business...
i.e. There is a sports company called "Wilsons" and my name is Wilson. If I register wilsons.com for my family's use (I know that it is not available) I would not be contravening the sports company's trademark unless I try to imply that I am them.
I realise that I do not understand US law but I cannot understand how this is a good settlement for the students. In most countries the courts would not impose such an unrealistic penalty so they would have been far better off going to court.
That is if the courts in any other country would be daft enough to even listen to the case. In UK law the ??AA would have to show their loss and ask for reparation. Their is no loss that they can show so they would not get much at all. If they want to claim for loss of their revenue they would have to show that these people had intended to buy these CDs before they started on this course of action. I do not think that this can be shown. I think that people download because they can and often it is stuff that would be hard to obtain through normal means (i.e. local record store only has pop crap that I am not interested in).
A cheaper alternative is to have your desk against an internal wall with the PC in the next room the other side of the wall. A small hole for the cables and a SCSI or USB DVD/CD drive means that you can have that on your desk with the PC configured to turn on by pressing the space bar and turn off in the usual way. No noise and no added expense:) The people trying to sleep/watch TV in the next room might complain but that noise can be resolved with a hand gun. My desk is against the kitchen wall so I intend to put my PC in a kitchen cupboard.
Democracy is about letting the people decide who they want and letting everyone have a say. I realise that this is a difficult concept as it is so long since the US has had democracy that it is hard to imagine. If the people truly want an Iranian type gov. then they will eventually get it just like they did in Iran. It does not matter how long we try to stop them from having what they want, they will have it. If we really wanted them to have democracy then we would let them have Saddam in the line up as well and he would get a lot of votes now. Most of the people now think they were better off with him than they are now.
None of this is about democacy as that is just as much idiological crap as communism. The guys in power stay in power and you only get to chose between the guys they want you choose between. It is all smoke and mirrors just like saying the people run the country in China.
As for terrorism... There are more terrorist organisations with there headquarters in the US than there were in Iraq. The US gov still cannot get round to calling the IRA terrorists and even though the Cambodian Freedom Fighters are actively blowing up buildings in Phnom Pehn they are still allowed to have their HQ in NY. Israel is one of the few countries that is actually run by real terrorists (read about the creation of the Jewish state and the bombing of the British embassy in Palestine if you do not believe me) and they are the US's main ally in the region, and they are still blowing up arabs. I think we all know that the US has many times more weapons of mass destruction as well. So it is all bull.
So face reality, the Iraqi people are still being shafted and they will still do all they can to kill those that shaft them. Now they WILL want to kill Americans and British. Before they were one of the few that wanted to be allies.
We have very few chances of winning this war. We just won a battle but the real war is just starting and things are starting to look very bad. We need to get the fsck out quick and send in some neutral peacekeepers. If we let the Iraqi people really decide for themselves, instead of trying to write a legal system for them that will have absolutely no authority because we have no right to tell them how to behave, there is a chance that they may end up actually seeing us as liberators instead of invaders. If we do that (I know we won't) they may not start blowing up our families in retaliation. If we stick around as invaders they will do just as you or I would do if the Russians had invaded, they will start the guerilla warfare and no one can win that stuff.
Biodiesel is not illegal in the UK. You can buy Biodiesel at some places in the UK although not many. As it is used a lot more on the continent a lot of foriegn oil companies will sell it in the UK without telling the customer (ELF for example).
Where do you get 150 years from??? Shell has the longest estimate of all the oil companies and they only give the oil reserves 17 years of viable life. After that the oil no longer comes out of the ground and it becomes much more expensive to extract it. Some of the other companies only estimate 10 years. Iraq will only give us an extra 4 years.
Every one hear wants to joke about biodiesel but it is a way forward. I would rather that we did not rely on the arabs for our fuel. The previous post is wrong to think we could not be more self sufficient. It would take a lot of change but I think it would be worth the change. It would only be specialist fuels that would require arab oil if we grew our own fuel.

??? I have switched to Linux and only use ported games so I know he is not alone. I agree completely with his arguement and think that my support for the ports will help us to move on into a brighter future. I also think your analogy is dumb and that you are simply trying to provoke heated arguement.
In a different context, how do you feel about someone like Nelson Mandella? A convicted terrorist who has shown that he can work for peace... Nelson Mandella was arrested while attempting to blow up a railway station, his organisation, the ANC, went on to kill hundreds of people. Yet now he is someone that works tirelessly for peace. He has a far greater understanding of the problems faced than a numbty like GW who just lives for war and seems no better than the terrorists.
It was ICQ that I switched to and found it to be so superior that I never looked back. Now I have sunk back down to YahooIM but more because of the simple fact that the people I chat with are on Yahoo. I have tried the multi-company clients but I find that the Yahoo one works best for what I do now... I found that AIM became such a bad experience from many angles (harrassment from kiddies etc.) that I never wanted to go back to it and the only one I ever reload occassionally is ICQ, when I need to chat with someone that only has an ICQ address.
Is this a plot by AOL to get people to use their service rather than another? I do have an AIM screenname from 6 years ago but I cannot be bothered to load AIM up to find out if it is still working just to try this out and see what it does...
I don't have that one yet and it is the only MadPrimaDona track I want, what do I have to search for?

we will send an email to all potential spammers to inform them of the new laws...

Who cares how you pronounce Sussie as long as she goes :)
The act of infringement is complete when the file is offered because the right that is infringed is the right to distribute the work.
...
offered != distribute
distribution has not completed until the file is on the receipients machine.

Did that crap actually make sense to you or did you just write it and press submit without thinking ?

The parrallels are very clear to me.
Does that mean that Hotmail accounts are now illegal in Michigan?
