In other news more Americans are discovering that it is possible to actually talk to your family and find out that there lives are more interesting than soap operas.
Charging points in Britain require that you have the right card for that charging point and there are several different cards. Each card has a membership fee and given that you would normally charge at home and only use a charging point in an out of normal situation you have no way of knowing in advance which card to get. This is a serious problem.
"That would violate the "real name" policies of services like Facebook and Quora [quora.com] — you can lose that "important" account if you do that..."
If you think that a Facebook account is "important" you have your priorities wrong in life. I would rather lose an account than publish personal information publicly.
Far better to have a cutsie account in your real name with only polite BS and a 2nd account in a different name where you can be honest. No politics or opinion on your real name and open an incognito browser before logging in to the real account where you say what you really think. A cut down account is far too dangerous as it would still be the person that the junta in Thailand are looking for for criticising the way they arrest, murder people or sell Rohinghya into slavery. It is not just the US who want to read your Facebook page. Better still, leave Facebook and meet your family.
We are talking about a nation of people who think it is somehow wrong not put your real name on Facebook and publish all your details where everyone can easily find them. If the thief cannot find enough there they can look you up on LinkdIn. Why would anyone go anywhere else to steal someone's identity?
Get rid of Facebook. You do not need to see what your friends ate for breakfast. It is better to use a false name if you do need to use Facebook but do not use an obviously false name like Kingof Theworld as they will kick you. If you use John Gris your friends will get used to it. It is extremely dangerous, not just at the US border, to use your real name on Facebook. Many other countries will literally arrest you for things you do not even think of as wrong. A guy was arrested in Thailand for posting a BBC article about the junta on his Facebook page. He did not even comment, just linked to the BBC and got 5 years in prison. I am in south east Asia and I have stopped using Facebook altogether. I feel liberated.
The Nokia 515 is just as good at making calls but that is all it does. Nokia are about the rerelease the 3310. You do not need to have any data on it but you do want to be able to call people and be called by people so you get a phone number. The cheap laptop can be wiped and you can store all your important data remotely so that you can access it after you arrive. Sit in a decent cafe and download all the date you need via your VPN while relaxing over a latte or in your hotel.
Wow, who stole your teddy bear? Most objective people have genuine reasons to criticise the US but that does not in any way imply a hatred of all things American (we are only talking about the US anyway). He did say that he preferred Canada so he obviously likes America. The US is a beautiful country with arguably the worst government on earth. All countries are full of normal people but run by insane governments and the US is the worst case of that. Visit Iran, lovely country with beautiful places to visit and the most friendly people you could hope to meet but run by a crazy government. I would not return to the US. That does not mean that I hate Harleys or want to stop seeing my son, just that I am not prepared to put up with the BS involved in actually entering that insane theatre. Last time I entered the US my friends practically dragged me out of the customs area because I objected to the totally racist attitude of the customs officers.
No, anti-Zionist is a political opinion whereas anti-Jewish is religious bigotry. Many Jews are democratically minded and agree with the basic human right that religion and state should be separate. There is nothing that makes Jews ignorant to the views of others whereas Zionism is blind. There is no justification for any state to be based on religion as that, by definition, means that it cannot be democratic or free.
To gain an idea of the truth, it lies between the lies that the two sides tell. You need to read the lies of both sides and think about what lies in between. RT is no worse than CNN it is just the other pole. Al Jazeera used to be good at providing the opinions of both sides until the US government started firing cruise missiles at them and throwing their reporters in Guantanamo. Now even they only tell the US lies. Russia Today is also worth following as is Press TV (Iranian). The problem I have is that I have travelled, lived in many other countries. When they talk about places like Iran I think of my Iranian friends and know that the media lies. The world is full of wonderful people and really corrupt governments. The media encourages us to think of our people and their governments. If you reverse that you end up feeling awful.
The problem is not using such technology but relying on such technology. Too often it is believed above common sense. We have DNA databases that have now outgrown the probability of a match so if you enter data you get more than one match. If facial recognition says that a person is a suspect that does not mean that the person is a suspect and does not mean that there is a reason to arrest or detain said person. It does justify watching said person but not harming them in any way including harming them by detaining them.
This discussion is like talking about socialism or religion. Logic has no place in the discussion. Yes, those that have done it know that Linux is far more stable and reliable for the average user but those that shout the loudest will convince people that they cannot live without Windows. Why? Just like you ask the average person about socialism and they will shout about Stalin and not let you discuss Scandinavia or Germany or explain that the best economies in the world are socialist. Try and talk about Muslims and people will focus on the 0.05% that are a problem and ignore the fact that that does not represent the truth.
I have set up Linux workstations for people that need reliability and they work for years without attention. That is the main thing that most people want. When I was not around, one client was talked into returning to Windows but after 6 months ended up switching to Apple because having got used to Linux, Windows is terrible. I cannot stay around to support people but I have not had anyone who spends long enough to actually get used to Linux choose to return to Windows.
Court of Appeals will "again send a powerful signal that stealing isn't right."
steal (v). take (another person's property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it.
I do not think that there was any intention to permanently deprive Apple of anything so there was no theft. I would expect the Court of Appeals to understand the legal definition and not pander to the latest propaganda.
Solar panels in Nevada? A Heliostat would work as well and would not require such an unecological production process. Solar panels may be better than old tech power production but the chemicals used are pollutants. They are not as green as claimed but heliostat towers are far more green and in a area like Nevada. Why does a country like Morocco end up leading the world?

As long as this keeps them in the market of making great dumbphones, I am happy. I prefer to have a good phone with fantastic battery life in my pocket and a tablet in my bag. I used to use a smartphone but if kept letting me down when I really needed it. One time, after a long trip, I arrived in Pakse, in southern Laos, no one spoke English, my phone battery was flat, I could not remember the name of my hotel (it was on my phone) and I could not phone anyone to find out where to go... I decided to give up on smartphones. Nokia make the best phones, maybe they should stick to what they are best at.
Always hated the colours with Fuji and only really loved Kodachrome. I am not going to rush out and buy an OM1 until they bring back Kodachrome:D So many years spent taking photos and yes, I have City and Guilds as well:P in computer graphics:P (yes they did have computers in the 80s) so I should really be cheering for the other side but I know that graphics on a web page and photography are two different subjects.
Do not worry, you will still be able to use your phone to take your selfies but serious photographers will be very happy to hear this and will be shouting for Kodachrome. Digital cannot provide the quality of film even with massive file sizes. Digital is brilliant for family snaps and taking shots of your dinner to post on Facebook but for real art it cannot do the job.
The main difference it that an amateur who has no idea what they are doing can take a shot with their phone and then spend hours on photoshop trying out the effects whereas an artist knows what they want to produce and how to get the effect. Which is why the demand for Kodachrome will now ring out loud. You will not be held back in any way from taking shots of your cat to post on Facebook so do not worry.
He did say "like" which to an intelligent reader would mean that he is not even giving the impression of using accurate data. You have argued something that was not said and failed to respond to the what he did say which was not worthy of a reply. You are trolling and idiot.
Defending the free world? When? The world has not been free since the US started invading countries at random and terrorising it. 40 countries have been invaded since WWII when the US funded and helped the Nazis until Germany declared war on the US in 1941 and forced the US to get its finger out of its arse and take part. Clinton has been personally involved in lot of this and is more entwined with Saudi (and Syria) than is reasonable. Why is no one complaining about how the Saudis tried to influence the US election and that the Russian effort may have saved the US from being beholden to a far worse regime.
Noteworthy technology? What noteworthy technology has the US created? They seem to prefer to take credit for other people's creations like the internet which was developed in Switzerland by a British guy. Even nuclear tech was stolen from the Germans when Hitler was too nice a guy to use it unlike the US. The US is far more famous for funding and training terrorists and overthrowing other people's countries. So it does sound pathetic when they cry about a theory that someone may have influenced their election. They still have not given any reason to believe that this is true, it is still just an opinion.
If the Democrat Party in the US were hacked, it is unlikely that it was the Russians but even if it was, it is not something that the US would not have done to Russia if they were able. The point is, the focus should not be on who hacked the DNC but on why is the security so bad on their system? The claim is that some malware was planted on the system. An old version of malware. First, that suggests that the morons are running Windows and second, it also suggests they do not have a virus scanner running. This is not someone else's fault, it is total incompetence within the DNC. There are things that other people can do to your system but hacking should not be one of them. I run several web sites and mail servers. I upset Anonymous once but they could not get into my system. All they managed was a massive DDoS attack which did stop access to my sites for a day at expense to them but they did not gain access to my sites. The US should focus on fixing the problem rather than looking for someone else to blame.
Most of the so called hacks that do take place are due to complete incompetence on the behalf of the computer staff. There was a big fuss about the British hacker Gary McKinnon who was accused of hacking into 97 United States military and NASA computers over a 13-month period between February 2001 and March 2002. All the computers he accessed still had the default password active from their installation. That is not hacking, it is complete incompetence by the IT staff. If a Russian IT guy was that stupid he would be shot.

When most of the world has to put up with crap connection speeds once they get out of the city.

...and we will let you off all profit on which tax has been paid. All profit that has not had tax paid on it is due.
The US is nothing like North Korea. The North Korean leader has better hair.

Californian law applies in California, most malware is from Asia or Eastern Europe. I do not see how this law will affect anything.
