You're talking shit, innocent people have been mugged and stripped naked during these riots. You can't even deny it, the photos and videos are all over the net, as is footage of reporters, photographers, etc being threatened.
Wait wait, I just responded to your previous post where you complained about these scientists not saving peoples lives, now you're complaining about overpopulation?
So your solution to these problems is trying to 'stop people dying' and thus ensuring an ever increasing human population, then you go on to moan about lack of resources!
You do realise the space race has led to many, many discoveries that have helped mankind?
How about this (true story). I live in Blackpool, a seaside town on the North West of England, the last place you'd expect to find a ring tailed lemur considering they're supposed to be confined to Madagascar (with the obvious exception of Zoo's, etc).
A few years ago my friend came home for his dinner, on arrival his mum said "There's a monkey in the back garden". He just looked at her like she had gone insane and says "yeah, of course there is", she replies "no, really, there is. There's a monkey in the garden. I've seen it!". So he looks out and there's nothing there, looks back at his mum and just rolls his eyes at her. So he gets his dinner and tells her "I'm going to go eat this in the conservatory and watch the giraffes and the elephants in the garden". 10 minutes or so pass and he's eating his food, and he looks up to see a lemur sat on the grass looking at him through the window.
They eventually managed to trap it in the shed and called someone from the zoo or RSPA to come and get it. They figure it was smuggled into the country and either someone had enough of it or it escaped.
So in answer to your question, I'd say there's a healthy black market in lemurs
I actually contacted Lessig recently over a dispute between Disney and Great Ormond Street Hospital, according to Lessig Peter Pan copyright in the US wasn't extended, even with the Copyright Extension Act, therefore Disney are free to rape the Peter Pan franchise without paying any more royalties to GOSH
Either way I feel they lose. Either they push that there was no copyright and risk losing their rights to Mickey. Or they admit it's in copyright and pay the royalties.
But on top of that, they couldn't have faced a worse opponent. A children's hospital, and a famous one at that. The irony is unbelievable. Here we have a billion dollar company, who are supposed to be "all about the children"... and they're denying a children's hospital their right to royalties.
The bad press they could face if they don't offer the Hospital it's royalties would be immense.
I submitted it to Slashdot yesterday but it was rejected, which is unfortunate. I hope it's only because someone else submitted first.
It's ironic Disney should face being sued over the copyrights to Peter Pan. They claim that it's out of copyright in the US but Great Ormond Street hospital say it would have expired in 2007 but now expires in 2023 thanks to the Extended Copyright Act.... something Disney keeps pushing for.
Why is it that P2P networks get all the coverage, yet I never see any mention of Usenet. It must be the largest and biggest source of warez on the face of the planet.
Not only can you find pretty much anything you're looking for, it's also pretty quick for releases, coming just under Topsites and FXP groups. So why has Usenet managed to continue so hassle free?
I'm assuming it may have something to do with the best servers being 'pay monthly' and the slight complexity of it all (multiple rars, pars, par2's, etc)?
Does anyone find this figure stupidly ridiculous? 2.5Tb of storage wouldn't be difficult in most of today's PC's but 2.5Tb of illicit material stored on a (or multiple) PC's? Please, who would even bother with that? It would be a nightmare to maintain that much data just for the sole purpose of sharing. Think about how much 2.5Tb of 'media' would involve.
If your average mp3 is around 6Mb, then that would be 436906 songs.
Even if he was storing DVD ISO's on there, that's still 543 films.
2.5Tb between the 12 of them poerhaps, but one person? I doubt that for a second.
This is a joke, it's nothing more than a money grab. Charging people for *how* they access their mail? That's ridiculous. If they were really that bothered about spam they could simply limit the Outlook access to receive only and block sending. Like how an ISP will let you receive your POP3 mail but won't allow you to send if you're connected through a different ISP.
How accurate a representation of the universe is Celestia? I'm currently looking at the Earth and our own Moon and I'm a little shocked to see the distance between the two. I obviously knew it was far but had no idea it was *that* far. Is this correct?
I heard from a credible source (he was showing images, ie Hayden Christensen as the end of RotJ, from the DVD release months and months ago) that ILM have just signed an NDA for Eps 7,8 and 9. God help us all if it's true.
I don't see the big deal about Skype, to me it just appears to be like any other Instant Messaging service, no? I can do exactly the same thing with MSN, although according to the site they say MSN's audio quality is lower.
However, as I said, it seems nothing more than another IM client, and you can bet your ass MS will go right ahead and implement a similar thing into Messenger.
Something is wrong with your setup. I have an XP2100, Lian Li Case, did have the SLK800 but is now an SLK900 (not a lot of difference) and I have a controlled 80mm fan. Idle temp is about 40c, hits about 50c full load and that's when the fan and SLK are gunked up with dust. If it's clean then it rarely goes to 50, averaging out around 47-48c. Oh, and it's overclocked to 2.3GHz, so yeah, you have a problem somewhere. It's not loud either, I have 4 19db papst fans, the loudest thing in the case is now the GF-FX 5900u.
So let me get this straight, they won't repair Hubble because they're worried about risk? They're worried they might lose lives? Um, okay, yet on the otherhand it's okay to send people to Iraq? All of a sudden risk isn't relevant? We've lost more people in Iraq then any Shuttle failure has brought us, but hey, all for a good cause right?
I can't believe this has gone totally overlooked. 2 Weeks before the supposed HL2 release date, Gabe Newell announces Valve's benchmark results, showing ATi superior to Nvidia's top of the range offering. This caused huge uproar, Nvidia owners were being ridiculed and laughed at and Nvidia's cards took a huge blow. In the meantime ATi and Valve secure a nice little business partnership where HL2 is bundled with certain ATi cards. Remember, these benchmarks were released TWO WEEKS before HL2's 'supposed' release date. How many people will have rushed out to upgrade their GFX card in anticipation of HL2? And, thanks to Gabe's results, how many of those people will have bought an ATi card?
So now we're told it'll be released this summer. The benchmark results released last September will be irrelevant, Nvidia and ATi will no doubt have newer hardware available which will run HL2 with ease and by that time, I expect people will be upgrading again.
Gabe, Doug, Valve, whoever, they're all responsible. They insisted on a September 30th release and failed to deliver. The only people to benefit from Valve's lies are ATi, who incidently are partnered with Valve.
Erm, it did, I'm pretty sure Suge Knight screwed Tupac exactly like this.
Ironically, who do you think JD Sports biggest customer base is most likely to be? That's right, the very people robbing them blind!

Erm, Sutherland was born in London

bastards... I was using the forums until you fuckers arrived
So...erm... why isn't Zach Braff not listed? I know he updates his blog on the Garden State website quite regularly. Not worthy of even the C list?
As someone who purchased a Samsung 193P a month ago and found two dead pixels I have to say this is really annoying.

It would be nice if they kept a copy of what you submit too (unless I'm overlooking it?). I wrote up a nice little piece :(
On the subject of IP, I found this rather amusing;
Disney may be sued

Thanks. I really didn't think it was that far, perhaps half that distance. It certainly seems closer when looking at it on a clear night.

The magazine was actually Super Play
