    If you translate Piquepaille, French to English, as "Pique paille" you get "Prick straw". If I remember my French, it could also be "Bite straw".
    I always wondered if it was a spoof in some way, and the name meant something...

    The British government had nothing to do with this.

    The FBI asked a US company to hand over some hardware, the US company acquiesced. The location of the hardware would have nothing to do with it, unless Rackspace refused.

    The article says he used GCC to compile the C++ versions, but GCC produces code that isn't nearly as good as the Intel compiler for example. (Here, but no good if you don't subscribe)
    A lot of the test results are close, and I think a different compiler would change the outcome.

    That's odd, because I live in the UK and _I_ don't remember a radio tax.

    You need a licence to operate a radio station, same as everywhere else in the world.

    You need one TV licence per household to operate a TV. I know this sounds odd to the USians out there, but imagine the two channels with the best programming, _without_a_single_advert_!

    Worth a few quid in my book...
