    The current crop of 'entry' level video is not good enough.

    It wont be till 2003, till every cheaps ass machine has gf4mx default or gf5mx or something, but then 20m other people would have updated their crappy tnt2s or voodoos to gf4/5mx too.

    I often see GOOD linux related stories or techy news, that totally gets missed by $loshDOT, often its new for IT workers thats perhaps not boring and sensationlistic.

    Only 25% of the stories are 'stuff that matters'

    Each story needs a VOTE/POLL to ask

    "Does this story matter??? yes/no" to guage if it was useless.

    Oh the editors, so many mistakes/miss quotes/spelling mistakes.

    What are they doing? posting at 3am after 12 beers?

    He has trouble getting into USA, see this is the precise thing why usa is so fuggered up!

    Surely an intelligent/risk assesment will see that big deal, a guy used a tourist visa for business purposes, whoooppdi dooo! what a disaster to security.... this aint Nazi germany. He is not going to do anything. America is full of millions of criminals any way, any 'tourists' at least spend money. If X person is a threat inside USA, then why not arrest them in their home country, if they are a 100% good citizen in the home country being in EU or AU, then thats good enough.

    Typical usa , letting in bad-ass people faking their way in, but honest good people with silly mistakes and BANG, KLINED/BANNED from entry.

    What are the challenges ahead for Linux?
    We need to get ordinary people used to using Linux. It isn't that it's so hard to use, it's just different. People say Linux is hard to install, but if you gave somebody Windows and had them install it, not everybody would be able to do that.

    Not true, windows is easy to install and has fail safes and no dead locks, linux has BAD interfaces regarding PARTITIONING and bad help/feedback/error detection. THere are some badass interface errors there (redhat).

    Sure its a lot easier than it used to be, but it still needs refinement, and give the user more confidence and not assume they know all terminologies, but windows isnt harder.

    With linux I always think to my self, "god i hope it works", with windows its, "allright hurry up, get it completed" - im more confident it wont stuff up in Windows (latest,xp)

    God damn ,why waste pumping out more expensive $800 CPUs at 1.2ghz (not that apple can)

    Why not just make the default TOWERS ALL dual cpu (since the OS can do it) and make them all 2x 900mhz at least.

    Surely 2 x $200 CPUs are better than 1 ultra expensive one.

    WHy are we stuck in this old 80s idealism of single cpus when we have prooved making dual cpu setups isnt expensive.

    Unless sony gets off their ass and releases the full APIS to PS2 for windows as a directx wrapper.

    It would make porting their ps2 titles to windows easier (im sure they have it internally)

    Imagine if that $3000 billion got spent on new research, warp drives, super engines, and new materials etc.. etc..

    Why build 2500 stealth fighters , when you could build 100 modern dynamic shuttles that can go to the moon and beyond.

    Build/send GPS like systems to the moon/mars.

    Build/send 'dynamic design once' space probes with *ALL* features with 50 years battery lifes that can be sent to ALL the planets for research instead of once of designs.

    Who has the arse now? At least russias markets are UNDER developed and have huge growth potentional where USA is maxed out, and will just go down hill because of so many people over 64yo that will grow old, get sick, wont spend and die and be a burden on society and welfare.

    Well, only if in return all tax payers (and only tax payers) get a 50% discount in all phone servics then yeah, bail em out.

    If you pay no taxes, stiff bickies, pay full price.

    The more taxes you pay, the cheaper your cable/adsl/phone services.

    (at least for the first couple of years)

    Of all plane disasters, they all crash and burn into 500000 pieces. Of 1000 crashes, how many used the crappy blowup shoots or air breathers. 1 or 2.

    All safetey measures in airplanes are useless because all crashes are HARD and BAD.

    The best safetey device is a 1000 foot parachute for the plane.

    one thing i hate about macosx desktop is that it lets you resize ALL ICON sizes, but not Finder FONT SIZEs, which is retarted, coz you can have giant icons with small fonts in 1600x res screens, or big text, blocky icons in 640x.

    It sucks that font size is fixed.
