No one optimizes for P3, coz the benefits more MOST applications arent there, only specific things like mp3 encoding or divx encoding or DV, or real aggressive mpeg2 encoding needs optimizations. (games too)

No amount of P3 opts will speed up gcc though, what we need are string functions in the CPU, we have had enough matrix/mmx/3d shit added to the cpu, how about some real optimized memory type funcs()s

They will schedule release for about 20-30 games a month until xmas, then it will tripple in titles.

You already have games that run on ps2/xbox/GCube.

MS dont care too much on sales for the first 12m onths, its a 'ramp up time'

Besides im sure they can spend another $50m n redesigning the MB to use less components and be a lot cheaper.

Put it this way, if 50,000,000 people download music and save themselves say, $5000/year in CD purchases, then thats $5000 more for BEER + TOYS + PC + LAPTOP + HOLIDAYS.

If everyone paid for their music then the rest of the economy would suffer the loss.

No one would suspect anything, execept, "wtf is that 10foot baloon floating there doing"

If its shot and popped, then the falling can be detected by the computer and 'release all VX/nerve gas' any way.
