The license plate on my 330ci convertible reads SOLARIS - I am a die-hard Stanislav Lem's fan.

And it's even on-topic, since the book is about planetary exploration. More or less. One of the weirdest books I've ever read.

Other than that, you are right ofcourse. For continous contact I think the orbiter would have to be in a stable pole to pole orbit, and I don't have a clue if that was possible with the Apollo missions :)

It's been a year (you say, I really don't know) since it was on. Since that day, in almost every story / . posts that has something to do with moons or planets at least 1 comment mentions it. I guess in the eyes of the executives this makes it not good, but excellent TV... "There's no such thing as bad publicity".

I've stumbled across NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day site, and I've become addicted to it. Not a day goes by without me browsing back and back through the archive. Lots of wonderful images there, with explanations by a professional astronomer, in language that even I understand. And ofcourse links for people with more understanding of the stuff they are talking about.

Anyway, it's an amazing site, really worth adding to your daily-visit bookmark group. And yes, black holes in or near "our" galaxy are featured there as well.

All database files on unixware. core.db, core.bi, and so forth. Unixware names its coredumps core.xxxx, where x is number.
