"People who can't afford to do so, don't buy a cube."
If someone can't afford to drop a couple hundred on a console and games they shouldn't be wasting money on a console and games. They should, oh I don't know, buying food and clothing for their family maybe?
"This is how they stay in business despite not being number one"
Uhhh...they stay in business because they make a ton of money. Contrary to common belief Nintendo isn't going anywhere. They aren't currently number 1 because Sony had the drop on MS and Nintendo and their lead is just too large. Also Nintendo's game library is very small compared to Sony. This has nothing to do with being able to steal their games. Sony and MS would probably make more money if their games weren't so easy to sell. Everyone likes video games and people are generally willing to pay for them. The people who steal them is such a small number compared to all the little kids who get mom and dad to buy them.
"GameBoy is for 10-year-olds. If you're 20 or 25 years old, it's probably not a good idea to draw a GameBoy out of your pocket on a Friday night in a public place."
And pulling your small phone out of your pocket to play a game on while you are out on a Friday night is somehow more 'adult'???
Yes you are exactly right. But I think the point was would you rather shop at a place that lets YOU choose which one to buy or a place that only gives you 1 option when there are several actually available?
Its all about selection. Netflix has a better selection, and unless Walmart changes its ways Netflix will always have a better selection.
Walmart the store does not carry the unrated versions of R rated movies that sometimes come out on dvd. Netflix does. So that would lead you to believe that the walmart rental won't carry them either.
Do you really need the internet on your phone in the first place? I haven't found a need for it yet. I never use SMS or email to the phone (incoming our outgoing). i don't want to go to web pages on the phone. Ring tones are so damn annoying I refuse to use them. The games you download are cheesy, I don't want to sit there staring at a double sized postage stamp screen playing a lame game.
If I'm away from my computer I don't want to see any email! If people want me they call me and I decide if I want to talk to them or not based on caller ID. If I don't answer then either I don't want to talk to them or I'm in a situation where answering would be rude, but its up to the caller to guess which one is correct. If they email the phone they know that I got it unless it bounces back. I don't want that.
A few of the replies point to "how others in the company that are not part of the quitting group might react".
This is not the persons problem. In the end its just business. Its not personal at all. If someone else has a personal problem about an employee or group of employees leaving then its that individuals problem to sort out.
I picked up a silver one 2 weeks ago along with a bunch of games and it absolutely rocks. I never played my old gameboy as much as I have been playing this new SP one.
I am in awe at how good the screen is now with the light. You can turn the light off if you want but I don't see how people played the old GBA without a light, its impossible. I was hoping to wait for a black one but got tired of waiting when nothing was announced at E3, oh well.
I found mine at Best Buy, they had a bunch in stock. If you really want one go to someplace like ebgames.com. Amazon doesn't have any and you can't order it online from best buy, circuit city or comp-usa.
Why do magazines insist on doing previews but showing screen shots of outside views which are basically just replays. You never see those fews when you play the actual game because you are too busy behind the wheel. You don't see the pretty scenary fly by and you rarely have time to see the other cars. Show screen shots behind the wheel, not majestic shots showing courses.
Every time the RIAA does this they lose hundreds of customers and sales. I hope they keep it up cause at the rate their going they'll be gone in a few years and we'll all sit back and laugh over a beer at their stupidity. They'll be taught in business classes as an example of how not to treat your customers and how not to do business. Its only a matter of time.
I think the kernel developers are getting tired of working for postcards and are tired of not getting a cut of the action. So everytime they do something for free and some "big mean old company" takes their free code, incorporates it into something they make and then charges money because it goes along with their product the kernel developers have a hissy fit and cry foul.
Why do they constantly wonder why linux will be nothing more than a niche product? Because the way they've structured it there is no money in it. Oh sure, companies can use it, small gov'ts will use it. The ubber-nerd will use it, but in the end they all go back to their windows boxes because that's where all the software is, that's where all the money is, and that's where all the jobs are.
Free stuff is nice, but if the world is made up of nothing but free stuff there would be a whole lot more unemployed people.
If you don't want companies taking your code, modifying it and selling it then turn around and make it harder for them to do so. But to do that you must destroy the free-ish way you do business.
Its probably because linksys doesn't want all you kiddies out there that don't know what their doing screwing with the source code and messing up their routers then complaining to linksys that it doesn't work.
Well if you are truely a Bungie employee I see that the MS purchase of you guys truely has turned you all into assholes like all your fans thought it would. Way to be sellouts, you should be so proud.
Oh well scuuuuuuuuse me. The point of the post wasn't to get your panties in a bunch but to show it was not originally a PC title as the thread said. Which I am correct about.
And what makes you think it wasn't originally for the macs and going to be ported to the PC to be released at the same time? I would think thats how it was since it was never shown running on PC hardware until very recently.
"Using the analog control is probably worse than using a mouse for aiming, but for actually moving around, the analog stick beats the hell out of a keyboard."
Oh yeah the whole, "push the stick to one side and wait while I rotate around" sure is superior to flick the mouse to the side to turn around in a fraction of a second.
Face it, the analog control sticks on ALL consoles are not fast enough and don't give enough precision when compared to a mouse/keyboard combo.
It was originally a Mac title, not a PC title. It was Mac first, then PC. Then bought out by MS to because a XBOX only title. Now its back to a XBox and PC/Mac game.
The reason you can't find it to download is because there are only a few dvd copies out there and they all belong to the people that were the main participants. There are some video tape copies given to friends and family but I doubt you'll see it online soon. I think there is too much respect for these people and what they did to spread it for free. But you never know, it may pop up eventually.
You know, if it breaks it'll be a major moral defeat for the communist China. It will also happen to kill millions of current and potential soldiers that we might have to fight some day.
I noticed that also. There are some other really good quotes in the interview that make him sound like a real jerk of a person.

Lets see, use aolim, msn, yahoo for free or have to pay for a client that puts them all together. I'll stick with free.

It must be you. I can drop a dvd in the mail monday morning and get the next one by thursday.

So whats the point?

You really have to look out for yourself.
You need to buy a $5 headphone adaptor cable that nintendo sells. Yeah it sucks they removed it, but oh well.

And it sucked batteries faster than anything known to man. They got the design and features right, but there is more to it than that.

Its really up to them to decide.

The Xbox players would be at a huge disadvantage playing against PC users just because of the control of the game.

Saw it Sunday afternoon. Was a ton of fun. The QA session afterwards was really interesting.
So basically Futuremark has said, in not so many words, that our benchmarking software doesn't really mean much in the real world.
Well gee...I could have told them that weeks ago.
You know, if it breaks it'll be a major moral defeat for the communist China. It will also happen to kill millions of current and potential soldiers that we might have to fight some day.
Ok, fine, straight to hell I go...
