I've been using Mysql for many years, through several companies, small and large. Never once has mysql support ever been requested / needed -- it's rock solid. What does support conist of anyway, help with sql syntax?
If your in any of the border states, chances are, other places in Canada have a lesser winter. Victoria BC, were I am now has a very mild winter (no show).
I use the Aircard 555 with telus wireless in Canada. Sierra has an "UNSUPPORTED" driver for the AirCard that took me only a few minutes to get going. The coverage and speeds telus claims are another story (only really good in major centers), but otherwise no problems.
Oracle outfits companies around the globe. They advertise themselves as a global company. If they open local office, it's hardly outsourcing.
If my company in New Zealand, or Canada, or wherever, made a billion dollars in the states, and decided it was time to open up a US office, would be out sourcing? Don't be so fucking greedy.
I don't know about you, but when I first got into computers, I was more interested in hacking my machine to bits than making excel spreadsheets and stroking the MS paper clip. Any 15 year old hit who has half a brain will eventually realize the limitations of Windows and upgrade to Linux.
Well I doubt they're going to come out with a stable one for win32.

If you can't figure out how to run a batch file, you probably shouldn't be running photoshop or gimp.
Have you been to the Philippines? I spent 4 hours in traffic getting from the central city to the airport -- a drive that would have normally taken 30 minutes.
I'm not sure I agree (I have great results with 5.0), but even so, how is that related to support?

I doubt most Debian users will care.
What is this crap. Sounds more like a pre-teen blog post than anything news worthy.
I did up a bit on switching from Fedora / Susu to Ubuntu, and why I thought it was a good idea.

Though I had a problem booting my Winders partition on FC2 test 1, final worked a treat.
What a waste of time. A pretend version of Unix running on pretend version of Mac?
What not just install Linux?
So sitting on the back of our office T1 and getting 79 bytes a second.

" Obscurity, but an astonishing number of Slashdot posters confuse that with security."
Hrm. Yes. I wonder how obscure slashdot would be if it was run on McWindows.
obscurity or security?
