    Jeepers, just sell the peckerwood several large rolls of window screen wire and hang it up over his garlic. Basically put the garden inside a faraday cage. Stuff would still get light and water. Problem solved!

    No...lawyers will...by forcing those who do not sign the agreements into bankruptcy due to overwhelming legal fees defending copyright infringement suits brought against them because they have not been given the RIGHT to play the music by signing the aforementioned agreements....

    Yes, I was in Bentonville area just last year doing work (not IT). There are a lot of cities and towns in that region all within easy commuting distance from each other. It's not a black hole with a single employer and no escape freeways. There are plenty of other places in the US that better match that description. Perhaps CIO.com seems to think that everything has to be crammed into a huge city to be a good place to work, or they don't realize that you can cross city borders on your commute.

    I live down in the River Valley in the Fort Smith area and totally agree with you. Walmart is not the only game in town. The Fayetteville/Springdale/Bentonville area is blowing the Fort Smith area totally out of the water as far as growth is concerned. Lots of things to see and do. Wouldn't mind living up there myself if I could find a job that pays better than what I am currently doing. Rush hour traffic does suck up there, though.

    I noticed that too about the person who was cleaning the fridge (couldn't smell), so that ruled out possible chlorine gas (possibly mixing bleach & ammonia cleaner)....must have been NASTY!!

    Most printers can be attached to a HP Jetdirect or network print server device (newer printers can have built in Ethernet ports or Wireless NIC) that is then connected to the LAN. Configure access for authenticated users only. Problem solved...

    The nice thing about this exploit requiring physical access is that you may have a fairly decent chance to catching the perp and applying a size 13 (my shoe size) patch upside their head or backside. Then make them pay for a new systemboard after they trashed your current one with this nasty bit of code....

    Fluid dynamics basically says that at very close distances to a surface, it doesn't matter how fast the fluid is flowing, the wind speed at the surface is very low, and approaches zero. So maybe he made it!

    Until he got about halfway to orbit and then suffocated due to lack of oxygen, anyway....

    If you are mainly a Microsoft shop, SharePoint works will for posting procedures and related docs. Works pretty good for us. Is a pain to use when trying to rearrange items later, though....

    Agreed...haven't seen hardly any Kindle book over $10 and that is for the new books. The older they are, the cheaper they are. Been getting some romance novels for the missus for less than $1. For some reason, Whispernet is not available in our area, so I have to download them onto my computer, and then transfer the books to the memory card....

    You can install a mini-SD card in the back and expand the storage....got a 2GB card in my wifey's Kindle 1. Each book is less than 1 Mb in size....can hold a TON of books! She loves hers, only gripe is the page turning buttons are way too easy to hit.....

    Oh, BTW you can also put music on the device. It plays as background music while you read. You have little control over how it's played. You just turn it off or on...

    If you want games, get a Sony PSP.....

    You can't control the rover in real time. The control signals take several minutes to reach Mars from Earth. The mission people have to plan and map the course of the rover a small piece at a time carefully. You don't just throw it into reverse instantly when you run into a large rock or get stuck in the sand....

    If nothing else (assuming you don't have USB fobs, burnable DVDs, and external drives), at least copy the DB to another computer on the network as a backup that can be retrieved quickly. Only problem with that setup is if the building burns down or a disgruntled employee knows where the backup is kept and nukes both (as looks like this case may have been, possibly)....

    I help a friend of mine fill orders on his Hobby Shop Website yesterday, and couldn't complete any shipments on USPS "Click N' Ship" site. When you would submit new addresses, the apps would reject OUR return zip code, saying it was invalid (even though it had worked fine for months beforehand). Today, you would have to keep resubmitting information after the site would initially reject it, but then accept on second try. Or you would get no shipping options after submitting a new shipping address. You would go back and then forward and it would work... Very frustrating....

    Some people are already doing that as a way of revenge against the scripters.....a woman was selling pictures of her cat for $1 each by putting DOOR BUSTERS in the picture description.....sold quite a few according to one article.....nice.....
