You're a jackass who either doesn't have kids or was such an obnoxious dipshit about having them that the other parents hated you.
Toddlers want to use the same things mommy and daddy have. They know the difference between a toy and the real thing. My son had several toy remotes before I finally bought a spare TiVo remote and gave it to him without batteries. He now leaves the remote alone, because he has one also.
This won't be an electronic babysitter - the guy wants something to distract the little brat. If you knew what you were talking about, you'd understand that it need to be durable because kids are FAST, not because he'll be left alone with it for extended periods of time. Hell, I wouldn't trust mine with a Toughbook.
I know the rest of the world seems simple from your mom's basement, but you really should shut the fuck up.
Come on, don't hold back.....tell us how you REALLY feel...:|
While my stepson was stationed over at Camp Taji, Iraq, we would video chat with him over Yahoo Messenger. It works pretty good as long as you have a decent broadband connection.....the quality of his connection would go up and down while we would talk, which would make the video quality do the same.....even then, the voice quality was great.....
Was nice to see his face every once in a while using Yahoo.....He's making his way home now and is out of harms way, Thank God!:)
I've often wondered about that myself. It seems absurd to have so many little AC to DC PSU's in a data center. Why not just have 1, directly integrated into a backup power supply?
More than likely a U.S. thing. On your employment application, they typically ask you "have you ever been convicted of a felony, etc, etc". If you answer 'yes', you won't get the job. If you answer 'no', they typically run a background check on you (especially if it is a government job or a bank for instance). If they discover you lied on your application, you are fired on the spot.....
You better have a good way to cool that Beowulf cluster! We have several racks of the 460c blades and they crank out the heat! Got 4 Lieberts install to keep up with the heat output, plus the remainder of the hardware in the room!
In the first case, he should be removed from his position by the shareholders ASAP, as he is damaging his companies profits. In the second case, he should be removed ASAP and charged with racketeering as well.
Mr. Whitacre retired from AT&T several months ago, so the removal argument is moot....
I always thought that mainframes were meant to shine on BATCH processing (i.e payroll, inventory, etc), and not interactive software....at least that is what I have always heard.....
No problem....set it up in an LPAR and off you go! Our shop just went live with our shiny new Z Series back in the spring. Just doubled the DASD on it last weekend. This was after we used to rent our mainframe from an outfit in our state capitol. Was cheaper for us to own our own.
Interesting technology....I wonder if it will tell older drivers to get the f*ck out of the left hand lane if they are not passing a car on the right?:/
The video posted by CNN showed him going thru a very rocky shutdown after deploying his chute. The chute could have very easily fouled. He got thrown in a few directions before everything calmed down and he scrubbed off some speed...
Fortunately I have not, but have heard plenty of stories..... I think this device would not be generally accepted as normal transportation, but would be popular in the experimental ranks...
You're joking, right? These couriers probably visit over 100 different businesses each day loading up with boxes of tapes and printouts for storage and/or destruction. You can't possible think that the courier's driver, being paid a little over minimum wage; is going to take the time to sort out tapes and put them in different bins. They grab the boxes, throw them in the back of the van and move on to their next stop.
The customer of said courier needs to make sure that sufficient encryption is in place on their tapes in case of loss or theft.

Alright, let's keep the Star Wars and Star Trek jokes straight.... ;P
ABSOLUTELY! That is the moral of this story and others like it... mod parent up!
His kind of attitude will ultimately seal his fate when he backs out in front of a large truck....
Interesting technology....I wonder if it will tell older drivers to get the f*ck out of the left hand lane if they are not passing a car on the right? :/
Or let Agent Smith squeeze his head until he dies....his operator may have to pull his plug so he won't give the codes!
That's only in Texas...
Or in case of a funny Slashdot post. You blow a bunch of Mountain Dew thru your nose onto the keyboard, and time for another keyboard!!
Make it run Vista with Microsoft BOB as the desktop interface!! Ouch!!
Interesting you should mention that....when I clicked on the CIO article, I GOT A FULL SCREEN DELL SERVER AD!! How ironic... ;)

CNN has posted the video as well on their homepage...
Who cares about transportation? It would be FUN!!
