Spectre* is much harder to exploit than Meltdown, Meltdown essentially allow any user process to read any memory in a unpatched OS without needing to know anything specific about the system while the other attacks (Spectre) require knowledge of a certain system specific vulnerability and can then read some limited information. The net neutrality problem is something completely different - that of Internet providers throttling traffic that they don't get extra money for (from the content provider). This is people "paying" Internet providers so they will not charge users any money for some sponsored content.

No they give you the chance to read their content either by showing ads or by allowing them to use some processing resources. A choice in other words, a choice many sites wouldn't give in the first place.

But that ignores the fact it wasn't just a copy and paste but an integration of those previous systems into a new one, one that was released to customers in 1988.
And Windows NT have evolved as much as any other operating system. Don't expose your ignorance like that if you want to be taken seriously.
Windows NT is a design that was to be object based, was to support many operating systems personalities and was to be based on a modular design close to a microkernel (but not a pure one). Now compare that to VMS. Then continue comparing goals and implementation of those goals until you feel compelled to post an apology for claiming something that ignorant.
I think that illustrates well the point that Unicode is a badly designed mess of a standard. It isn't a replacement for ASCII or other character encoding but something that is so complex to fully support that there are very little software that do.
A better design would IMO be something that divides characters and (necessarily) complexity in 2 or 3 layers so that simple software can handle basic rendering and software that support more complex scripts use the other layers to properly fuse/split text according to the language selected. And the language is important as there are languages that use the same type of characters but handle them differently - something Unicode can't handle without even more complication.
Instead we get those freaking emojis which aren't well defined in the first place... Insane.
