It's all out in the open. Ross didn't fuck up only once he did it once and then again and then again...
Then he got caught with his notebook computer (used in a public space!) open with and logged in as administrator. Stupid.
And then he was given the chance, even encouraged, to take ownership of the server in order to argue for its exclusion as evidence. This wouldn't be a disadvantage in the real trial either - as explained by the court and his lawyers. Stupid. Potentially lifetime before freedom stupid.
He also documented his crimes in a diary and had fantasies of books being written about him. Extremely stupid.
No he got caught because he is an arrogant bastard and being a complete idiot. FFS he even was the first to promote the site and this in a way that could be directly linked to himself!
Anybody with any clue would realize that your ass is doing the talking. Spectre* is much harder to exploit than Meltdown, Meltdown essentially allow any user process to read any memory in a unpatched OS without needing to know anything specific about the system while the other attacks (Spectre) require knowledge of a certain system specific vulnerability and can then read some limited information. Big difference.
(* which technically includes Meltdown - which AMD isn't affected by)
"AMD processors are not subject to the types of attacks that the kernel page table isolation feature protects against. The AMD microarchitecture does not allow memory references, including speculative references, that access higher privileged data when running in a lesser privileged mode when that access would result in a page fault."
That's technical enough. No matter how the timing is tweaked AMD isn't vulnerable.
Sometimes I get afraid that people thinks science is magic. It isn't. That people think there are wast conspiracies everywhere. There aren't.
You say you want a vaccine. That indicates you have no idea what a vaccine is. And you want it for something we still don't know how it works _but_ we know is a spectra of different symptoms that require a spectra of drugs to be chosen for a certain individual/patient. You don't realize how medical science works instead claiming things that
This is beyond stupid. You are requesting something that wouldn't work (vaccine) for something we still don't know enough about (depression) to do something magical (become real) and the fact magic doesn't work is an indication of a major conspiracy.
I don't think you need antidepressants, your condition requires another kind of medication.
Yes tricyclics in general have many potential side effects. They are more poisonous than most more modern drugs and so should not be used for people that willingly or otherwise are likely to overdose.
You don't think drug companies try to improve the state of the art?
But even if you don't I like to point out that amitriptylin is an old tricyclic drug and as such have many associated problems. Patents aren't one of those.
Isn't it great how you decide what is fun and what's not? You are one person in a world of billions. You don't speak for everyone else.
I absolutely hate some kind of "fun" movies with crap story, crap actors, crap "jokes" that is more suitable for immature kids. But that's my opinion and while I can post my opinion (just did) I don't think that is some universal truth - there are obviously a lot of grown up people liking those kind of jokes.
The net neutrality problem is something completely different - that of Internet providers throttling traffic that they don't get extra money for (from the content provider). This is people "paying" Internet providers so they will not charge users any money for some sponsored content.
The first thing fucks up the Internet - the other gives some people that wouldn't have any access the Internet at all access to some part of it.
No they give you the chance to read their content either by showing ads or by allowing them to use some processing resources. A choice in other words, a choice many sites wouldn't give in the first place.
But you don't need to go to their website and read content that _they_ pay money to produce and serve. You can choose not to.
There were enough excellent one liners why it wasn't acceptable. If you can't understand that I pity you but will not spend any effort to help you understand it - from experience people like that will never change (with a few exceptions).
If you don't like that some writes *hug*... How about my pet peeve, people that (_text_) sign their posts/emails/messages when their identity is already stated in the headers often cryptographically signed?
I think if one shouldn't write*hug* then one shouldn't do something as idiotic as that - it's insulting and bandwidth wasting with no reason!
No. The original use of the word describes equal rights for women. By using it to describe anything else you allow two groups to control your thoughts: the man hating movement and the women hating movement. Don't let them do that.
Can't you read? Mac OS previously known as Mac OS X is derived from Nextstep (NeXTSTEP) that was first delivered with the first NeXT workstation in 1988.
But yeah, I could (somewhat dishonestly) point out that Nextstep was based on a combination of BSD (part of the original UNIX lineage) and the MACH microkernel (well "micro"kernel at least). But that ignores the fact it wasn't just a copy and paste but an integration of those previous systems into a new one, one that was released to customers in 1988.
And Windows NT have evolved as much as any other operating system. Don't expose your ignorance like that if you want to be taken seriously.
Windows NT is a design that was to be object based, was to support many operating systems personalities and was to be based on a modular design close to a microkernel (but not a pure one). Now compare that to VMS. Then continue comparing goals and implementation of those goals until you feel compelled to post an apology for claiming something that ignorant.
I think that illustrates well the point that Unicode is a badly designed mess of a standard. It isn't a replacement for ASCII or other character encoding but something that is so complex to fully support that there are very little software that do.
A better design would IMO be something that divides characters and (necessarily) complexity in 2 or 3 layers so that simple software can handle basic rendering and software that support more complex scripts use the other layers to properly fuse/split text according to the language selected. And the language is important as there are languages that use the same type of characters but handle them differently - something Unicode can't handle without even more complication.
Instead we get those freaking emojis which aren't well defined in the first place... Insane.
You are :(
I'm impressed that you obviously don't understand motor technology and still think your whining is relevant - your have a very impressive ego.
In my opinion this goes against what they usually claim NRA stands for. It's not funny - it's crazy.
Perhaps this will have the positive effect that the NRA is split into reasonable people and the absolutely crazies. Probably not.

That's harassment!
Intel propaganda have tried to make people think Spectre == Meltdown and so all processor manufacturers are equally affected.
That is of course not true. But Intel have succeeded in planting that even into technical people.

But they are still used and for good reasons.
Show me on this doll where science touched you.
The drug cartels that want to promote their new generation drugs that are under patent protection?
Then why is an old generic drug shown to be the most efficient?
You don't think drug companies try to improve the state of the art?
But even if you don't I like to point out that amitriptylin is an old tricyclic drug and as such have many associated problems. Patents aren't one of those.
Don't know why people think this is informative - because it's wrong. If the device was properly shielded it wouldn't cause interference.
Isn't it great how you decide what is fun and what's not?

Don't see why this is worthy to be posted here.
Why?
The net neutrality problem is something completely different - that of Internet providers throttling traffic that they don't get extra money for (from the content provider).
This is people "paying" Internet providers so they will not charge users any money for some sponsored content.

It's not the same thing at all.

So make your choice and stop whining.

I have a much shorter code of conduct:
Don't be an asshole. If you are behaving as an asshole you are given one chance of behaving like a mature adult, if you don't you can leave.
No. The original use of the word describes equal rights for women. By using it to describe anything else you allow two groups to control your thoughts: the man hating movement and the women hating movement. Don't let them do that.

Sorry for ranting.
