Indeed. I still prefer Firefox, but Opera is a fantastic browser, stable, secure, blindingly fast, with a great interface, and probably a better option than Firefox for slower computers. Between the two, it's mostly a matter of preference.
Even though it's a pretty good comparison of the relative seriousness of Firefox and IE vulnerabilities? Does PR work have to be done by slick marketing liars who are simply unable to state things as they are?
Internet Explorer may be a security joke now, but if Mozilla ever gains any popularity, it'll be an even bigger joke than Internet Explorer. It's a disaster waiting to happen.
You are mistaken. The N64 (including its controller) was announced much earlier, however, it was delayed several times, and Sega (and Sony) were able to launch new analog controllers first.
I think this guy is the new Ed Wood. Makes movies cheaply, and they are all hated or ignored while he's alive. But a couple of decades after he dies, one of his movies will "win" a Worst Movie of All Time award, and sudennly Uwe Boll is a cult director, his movies will be re-released and make a lot of money, and Tim Burton's grandson will do a movie about his life.
My advice: don't bother. I tend to be like that as well, but I've learned that you simply can't "save the world" by yourself. And people have to learn to take responsibility for their actions. If they choose stupidity, they should suffer the consequences.
One important thing: tell them that you WON'T help them with spyware and viruses if they insist on using IE. And, later, keep your word and don't do it. Maybe they'll learn then, maybe they'll remain stubborn, but, trust me, preventing them from suffering the consequences of their stupidity is NOT helping them. Much the opposite.
Actually, if you're anti-establishment, anti-government, anti-christian or anti-republican, you are branded "unpatriotic" and someone who is "helping the terrorists".
I agree about Alpha Centauri (best Civ-like game ever, much better than Civ 3) and Torment (best western-style RPG ever). Missing them is unforgivable, though I think the list isn't otherwise bad.
I also think Resident Evil 4 should be higher, the game is fantastic, and reason enough to buy a Cube.
Have you any idea (you may have, if you RTFA) how many people "10%" are?
Besides, 10% is, to many PHBs, the "magic number" - you can no longer create IE-only sites "to save time", because that means refusing 10% of your potential customers outright.
Firebird? I've just checked my statistics, and I have, for this month, 4 hits from "Phoenix"! :)
Lots of Netscape 4.x versions, and Firefox 0.8, 0.9, 0.10 and others, as well.

Bzzzt. Wrong.
Remember to tell them that there's still a Netscape around, but it's not the same guys, so don't use it (it's Firefox + adware).
What do you have, a horoscope site? :)
... reminds me of the "Conservatives Against Nearly Everything", in Leisure Suit Larry 5.

I only hope it doesn't happen again this time...
Awwwww... fluffy sheepies!
(sorry, been reading too many things by Jeff Minter)

Or something.
Wrong. That's like saying some doctor is better because he says you're healthy even though you are sick.
Bad code should be fixed, and the browser should help in doing that, not hide errors.

That's what they were doing. But it's about time they stop.
No browser should pretend it's another by default.
I believe it's time for IE to lose the "Mozilla 4.0" too, BTW.
Twilight Princess.
:)
Let's see who wins this Christmas, shall we?
I also predict a lot of people will buy the Game Boy Micro when it arrives. And there's still Nintendogs for the DS.
Actually, parents make decisions based on what Junior asks them to buy. Whatever it takes to shut him up.
Planetside.
The more different browsers have a significant market share, the more likely the internet will look good for me in Lynx.
:)
I love that sentence!
Then don't use it. Or do you believe that your refusal to pay entitles you to stea... I mean, use it for free?
This may be useful to you, then. :)

Ah, the "all software is of the same quality" myth.
Right, because ALL software is of exactly the same quality... oh wait.
