Programmers who make a big deal out of fixing bugs get more recognition that the ones who take care of the bugs the first time around. So that's probably why they don't feel an incentive to do their work on a reasonable time frame.

Uh...oh....Good-Bye Microsoft Application Cruel World of Impossibly Long and Boring Names for Every Little Thing!
No it doesn't it needs borgs. Because if that forum gets going which I know it won't, they are going to have tons of email about all their stupid bugs in all the programs they make and the idiotic limitations built in to some of their stupid programs.
This forum is going to go the way of BOB. (If anyone actually remembers that...)
I wouldn't train them incorrectly you don't even have to do that. If you get a pointy haired boss who thinks you can train, say a new Perl programmer (from someone who just knows Windows), in a week, then fine. Train them....bwaaahahahaah! If they can learn it in a week, then more power to them, but most likely they won't. The new hire will see how their boss treated you, and have a low moral and be job hunting anyway.
I had a boss who complained that after one of their top programmers quit that noone could "figure out" what he had done. Although I noticed that they failed to hire anyone who knew how to program. Silly bosses!
Besides if your boss wants to get rid of you they can and will, and it's a losing proposition to really fight this. If they are going to get rid o f you they are, and refusing to help them train a new person just creates bad will. Although I would say in some higher level jobs it would be perfectly acceptable to say, "fuhged-aboudit". Or as a contractor you can say, "Sorry I don't do that".
Personally I usually just try to train the new person who is invariably not as educated (and that's why they are cheaper) and can't learn it anywho, because they don't have the background I have.
When all the baby boomers retire the US should have a lot more job openings. That is, if President Bush doesn't open the doors and let all the Indians move to the US....
One of my ex-bosses tried to pull this on me and I simply refused. I just said I wasn't going to train them on anything because they had a bad attitude. Which was true. I never heard anymore about it after then, and my so called replacement did a really amazingly bad job and ended up leaving before I did.
Maybe to get more interested in technology you techie guys should work out more? Oh...and if you forget to get haircuts for years on end you should really own a brush.
As if...didn't anyone ever tell the RIAA about the pirate bulletin boards? We don't need the Internet even to file share music or programs. If they had half a brain they would know that.
I tried to distort the results in Google but it just made my monitor look funny so I reset it back to the way it was before. So I don't think I would bother doing that with any other search engines.
I don't know why but I have a feeling that Yahoo's is going to suck. Just something about that stupid name, Inktomi. That name just pisses me off for some reason.
Oh I know why, because they don't take free submissions.
Google is the best, the best, the best, the best,
Not like all the rest - because it is the best...YEAH GOOGLE!
I bet if they saw me walking down the street with my C++ book they wouldn't bother to offer me any drugs. Nor would they offer to sell me girlie magazines because I am a woman.
At first the penis enlargement things were kind of funny...haha...just what I need.
But now they are taking over. Kind of like when you get guppies and they take over the whole aquarium and then they all start dying in there. And you get to where you just don't care and you try to get rid of the whole aquarium by giving it to someone else. That's how my email box is these days, like an aquarium with too many dead fish and I don't even wanna look at it unless I have to.
Okay so lets find all the spammers and pay them some welfare if they promise not to spam again. Surely they can't be making very much. How many bottles of viagra can be sold?
This would be sort of like paying farmers not to grow certain crops. We can just pay them not to spam. And if they do spam, then we get to put them in jail in Singapore.
Oh my, that is what ICANN was supposed to enforce too, but hmmm.... they never did! Imagine that! Oh wait, first we have to have the intellectual capacity to understand what a domain name is before we can understand what the f*** is going on in domainland don't we?
That's the most ridiculous story I ever heard. Some people think a phone number or a domain name will "make" their business. What really makes a business is a lot of hard work. He should have kept the Russian bride and had her work for him.
Well I just wish the dumb a** companies who get phone numbers would figure out that we don't want to type 1-800-BIZSCKS. I'm sick and tired of pecking out stupid letters on the phone. How about 1800-777-7777 much better than this stupid letter thing.
I think they should shut it down too. For example: after 7 years of paying for a domain name with company checks (and the bills mailed directly to the company in question) Network Solutions maintains that the domain name belongs to the unethical webmaster who signed up using his own name instead of his clients.
They seem to have no "idea" that the domain belongs to anyone other than the jerk who put his name in as administrative contact. Now he's trying to sell the domain to the competing company.
That's totally nuts. But Network Solutions doesn't think so, and as far as I know ICANN wouldn't either. What a great job they are doing of keeping the Internet stable.
I think the main people who complain about rm commands are those who don't type well. I've been doing sys admin work off and on for over 8 yrs and have never inadvertently deleted anything.
Although I did once accidently control-alt-delete the freenet when I was a newbie. I didn't realize I was doing my email on the same machine that ran the entire freenet.
And what about the bogus bills? After you transfer your domain they keep sending out bills to you anyway. The unknowing pay them.
Once they did steal one of my domains and then sold it back to me for $1,200 under another company name that was owned by Verisign.
Verisign does what they want to do and have been doing it for way too long and getting away with murder.
Verisign deserved that one. I've had to scream bloody murder way too many times when that company attempted to steal domain names.

Yeah what's with that idiotic robot lego toy guy in the corner? LOL

Just a thought.

I hear that ebay outsources to those same monkeys too.

(Sorry about that, I feel better now.)
I don't know why anyone in their right mind would take a drug made by some low life weirdo making drugs out of sinus pills.
And I'm going to be really pissed off if they outlaw the sinus pills because of a bunch of morons who like to make them into drugs.

Plam pilots just another rip off on Ebay...just what we need, right?
No wonder I never can find anything on Ebay. But how can you predict how people are going to misspell something? Might as well go back to old English.
