I believe The Matrix: Reloades is a special case. Of all the people online I know of several people who paid to see the movie and then downloaded. Yet, I know not a single person who has simply downloaded without seeing it in a theatre. I realize this is only anecdotal evidence and prooves nothing, I am comepelled to believe that wide spread piracy without paying is not nearly as bad as the MPAA would like everyone to believe.
I've paid about $30 so far to watch The Matrix: Reloaded. Reloaded has provoked many philosophical debates. Is Neo a genuine Jesus-like messiah? Is there a Matrix within a Matrix? Then there is speculation on what will happen next. Is it so wrong, after paying $30 total to see it in theatres, to download a low quality telesync just to double check your facts for arguements sake?
This isn't limited to left handed people either. I'm right handed and I have the same problem. The average hand is big enough to smere the lines above it. It doesn't help that I use ink and insist on using nice dark wet ink.
s/Canadians/British/ There was no country of Canada during the War of 1812 let alone a Canada with a military. America fought the British Empire over a British colony. Oh, and the capitol burning was in retaliation to TRULY burning Toronto to the ground. The British forces only burned down government buildings in DC.
MIT? Get Slashdotted? Pardon me while I die of laughter. These guys have more bandwith than Jesus. Of course Jesus never owned a computer but if he did you could betcha he would have some pretty heavy fiber.

No. This isn't a fault of WineX. It is a fault of the Linux sound drivers. The OSS and ALSA guys have a thing against implementing propertiary 3d sound engines.

It is a Star Wars fan cartoon called Falling Into Darkness. Yours truly plays the voice of Grand Admiral Thrawn. On a side note the Alliance mentioned on hidden Jedi haven has nothing to do with the goings on in the regular StarWars universe. They are a force local only to that planet.
"The actual real pop3 address practically nobody gets, except my parents, and a few technie friends. All of these people know better than to abuse an e-mail address."
Are your parents willing to adopt or would you consider a trade?
These are the darker days I'm refering to:) And you are right, they weren't fundamentaly different than other seperatists. Though they had the advantage of having some really sharp and well spoken guys. The Federalist papers are nothing but pure pleasure to read.
"I don't know about you, but I've left USA because I don't want to wear the "cockrach" stamp all my life and listen "our fathers have been dying to free this country". Well, "to free" from whom?"
The revolution wasn't quite fought to be "free". The good side is they fought for their rights as Englishmen. Back home they were seen as "Colonists" an entirely different beast that had no voice. There were also issues of religious toleration. There was also a desire to get out of European politics and detach from England, one of the most powerful countries in Europe at the time. The powers had a habit of endlessly fighting each other.
Now the bad side. Many colonists owed debts to people back in England. Colonial involvement in the French & Indian/Seven Years War started with George Washington taking some guys out to Western Pennsylvania to defend his investment in the Ohio Land Company again the French at Ft. Duquense. In the beginning the fledgling country was rather tolerant towards the natives. The general consesus was to leave them alone or have peaceful diplomatic/trade relationships with them when possible. First strikes were NOT encouraged. The extermination came later as the United States moved towards its darker days.
It is quite simply. Most people don't know how. Those who do sometimes find it wiser to keep it on such as myself before I got DSL. I could tell by the noise whether I was connecting 28.8Kb or something in the v.90 range. Or I could tell if I was actually connecting or not. That helps in the headless router situation.
Wrong, small wars are good for the economy. Weapons need to be made. That means General Electric gets a nice check for a few bombs. People will be hired to transport these weapons. People will be hired to obtain the raw materials. People will be hired to design new weapons. Contractors are hired to do all sorts of things for the economy. More soldiers means more people taken out of the civilian job market. Dead soldiers are taken out of it permanently. We are doing imperialism the smart way here. We conquer without conquering. We get the benefits of controlling say, Afghanistan, while the local government takes care of the day to day details. It's markets and natural resources are ours for the taking. War and imperialism may not be ethical but as long as it doesn't force us into a so-called "war time economy" and we come out victorious, it is good for the economy.
Freedom of speech is great isn't it? Don't you love being able to talk about the former German national socialist party in a positive light without fear of persecution or censorship? Oh what's that you say? I can't anymore? *packs his bags and moves to Sweden*
I have to agree on the subject of education majors. The future GOOD teachers usually study in the field they plan to teach. What's the point of learning to "educate" if you are going to teach a history class but don't know the Byzantines from the Romans?
The problem with some of these faith based programs (the ones where you are forced to live on-site) is they REQUIRE you to partake in religious activities more often then not. Say you are an athiest and you are alcoholic. Then let's say you got arrested for drunken & disorderly. The judge orders you to rehab. Wouldn't you be a little irked if a court inadvertently ordered you practice a religion you want no part of?
You mean pens, my sun glasses, and wallet can cause problems? Will it help if I move them out from between my monitor and keyboard?

That's North Korea. This article talks about South Korea. There is extreme economic disparity between the two.

I hope that answered your question.

Pardon not realizing it's to comply with French and German law. I haven't had my coffee this morning.

Where's Ragnar Danneskjöld when you need him?
Yep, it's out on DVD. John Carpenter is god.
To my knowledge, no.
