What is that crap with iptables, that is patently unfair. Let me choose what I want, don't ship or make your own seperately available security software.
I set this up for my brother last weekend with the RC version of 10.0. I had to download the ATI driver for him and do the setup but I had the desktop stretched over both screens. Of course the work I had to put in it was exactly why I don't find Linux ready for the masses.
I know people keep talking about your documents being stored far away on some server but I don't think the single home consumer is the target. If you work for a company in an office it is most likely all you do there is owned by them. If you take away the hard drive and cd-rom drive and only run the apps you need off the server you cut your hardware costs. I see large organizations liking this, but the general purpose HOME computer isn't going away.
...don't use it. Seems like a pretty simple solution unless I'm missing something where software licensed under V1 or V2 has to automatically accept the terms of V3.
I'm sorry if you don't pick the best tool for the best job. MySQL is thinking about their customers, they aren't going to abandon them because they run an SCO product. That will make me realize the support their customers.
I wonder how many people here run businesses or work in big businesses? MySQL AB is doing well with their relatively new subscription support model. It is quite possible they have customers using SCO's products that need support. The only knee jerk reactions are probably going to be from zealots without much financial say anyway. I don't see this effecting them at all.
Going to the movies is supposed to be a sight and sound experience. Far too many movies don't justify the price for the experience because you get just as much enjoyment at home as you do in the theatre. Examples of movies that justify the experience in my opinion are LOTR series, Bram Stoker's Dracula and other movies that saturate your sight and sound. Maybe if Hollywood realized all movies don't justify the same price and changed their pricing structures accordingly they'd see better returns from their investments. If the ticket price was the same as the rental price for a lot of b grade movies, I'd probably see more movies in the theatre. Now some studio suit can read my writing and take credit for the idea when it works.
When I was in my teens I attached my Timex/Sinclair 1000 16k ram expansion to my C64's RS-232C port. I flipped the switch on the power supply and the fuse popped. The ram pack worked fine afterwards but The Commodore 64 couldn't access any disk drives after that, but otherwise worked fine. I went to replace the chip that was damaged a year later in a high school electronics class. A friend that was helping pushed too hard on the solder sucker and proceeded to cut several traces on the mother board when he slipped. I bought his C64/1541 combo at a discount as a result.
A long time ago, in a land far, far away I was restoring a users directory on a Solaris box. In one of those, I don't know what I was thinking moments, I ran a chown command with.* as the file... wanted to get those dot files you know! Well when the prompt didn't return after one second I knew I f***ed up. I hit ctrl-C and went about figuring out what got changed and set to fixing things. Well I was in a hurry and not very thorough and the next day the group manager asked why his and his bosses account where owned by somebody else.
That wasn't nearly as bad as when a co-worker didn't pay attention to the xterm he was typing in and did and rm -rf * in the/usr/bin directory of a heavily used machine(literally 100+ users on it at the time).
Seems odd but here is why. The ocean currents carry water from the Polar regions to the Tropics. The reason Northern latitudes are able to sustain large populations is because of the moderating affect of the ocean. If the Polar latitudes warm up suffciently all the ice melts and the process that was sending heavy dense water down to the tropics is disrupted and the Polar regions get really cold and and Ice Age comes along. I don't think there is rational person that doesn't believe we are modifying the environment but this process has happened over and over through history. The Sun is in a very active state and has been pumping out a lot of heat at the same time so I think the chance of this happening isn't so remote. In the 1600-1800s there was a pronounced cooling in Northern Europe and it may be on the way again once the Planet heats up enough to start the cycle all over again. The Earth is very dynamic and climate change is inevitable. Evidence of vineyards in England has been found but you won't be growing any grapes there today!
I know what it means when I eat an animal that has been force fed, or injected with lots of hormones and steroids... I'm not a vegitarian, goes against my internal instincts. I don't want the animals I eat to be mistreated or to live horrible lives in the name of my getting a convenient meal. If we can do things better we should. Are you a scared rancher or owner in the stock of a pesticide or pharmaceutical company that manufacturers products for ranchers? Do you work for a company that makes its living off of the ranching industry. I have a buddy who has family that raise chickens, they use hormones and steroids. Their children of course get to eat lots of fresh chicken and really like the kidneys and livers, I'm not making this up. All of his children are the larget kids in each of their respective grades. Frankly I don't want to ingest hormones or steroids meant for a chicken or cow.
Do you have a job where you work with a lot of people? I'm sure they have many different forms to work with and all are based on Word Templates. Do you really think they are just using their word processor to type up letters to mom?
Cancer is just mutated cells. I agree with you though, wanting to put an emotion with the name. In one week it will be 8 years since somebody close to me succumbed to it.

I'm not arguing any sort of country superiority. Redhat does sell in Europe take http://www.redhat.de/ and http://www.redhat.fr/ for instance.
OS/2 did better in Europe than America as well. Your statements in no way invalidate Szulik's statements.
They took DNA evidence which seems to be gettng glossed over.

Shutting your corporate website down for 2 weeks?

You're a big boy now Minister...
Given that we went to the moon in less than a decade in the 60s.... why so long to plan and execute in the 2000's?
I've been taking care of an Win2k3/IIS6 combo and to be honest, I've been quite happy with it.
We'll mine other planets later.

Water freezes at the poles, leaving a much heavier "brine" that sinks and causes a heavy churn. For a better understanding read this ->e anography_currents_1.html

Sorry, it isn't all fluid mechanics and the earth's rotation. Don't be so ignorant.

No, no trend, just advertising. Get back in your hole churchy.
Maybe you think that nobody knows what you are downloading with BitTorrent but Jesus knows...
I guess the engineers at NASA know better than I but I'd be a little wigged out if I was able to pull something from between the heat tiles by hand.
Which have been available just as long on Windows via a third party http://www.stardock.com/
