  1. Re:My experience, my family on Dealing with ADHD and Other Problems in Young Children? · · Score: 1

Might I add that your parents helped you and your sister more than any sort of drugs? My parents tried an alternative approach. My father tried medication, for himself. And my mother went the spiritual route. Yes, they were divorced. So I ended up with a drug addict father and a bible thumping mother and me being pulled in all directions. Eh, whatever.

This seems as good a point to complain about public education.
It wasn't until two months before I graduated from high school that my art teacher of all people said I had no business being in a regular school. She refered to me as a unique individual. Day late, dollar short, I replied. Eventually, she failed me for that semester. Whatever.

The FCC is an unconstitutional organization, which is not answerable to the people and not accountable. It makes laws, which is wrong; the Congress and Senate should be making the laws.

In general, I think that we should get rid of communications regulations in as much as possible. No one has the right to own the air, and the government attempting to regulate such just hinders the right to freedom of speech: because of commmunication regulations, though everyone has freedom of speech, only the rich can get their message to the public.

Although I agree with you in principle, the Standards set forth by the FCC are what keeps a lot of things from being dangerous. Think how pissed you'd be if your PC speakers were unshielded and messed up you monitor, or some other radiation leak from say a microwave. What about air wars between radio stations where one purposely jams another just for market share. I don't like it any more than you do, but big business isn't going to play nice whether there's a big government or not. The only thing big they concern themselves with is their wallets. Let's face it. There are no big consumers. If I can think of anything more, I'll add another reply.

One reason people are more willing to submit to government intrusion in the name of national security, they are too willing to believe the lie: Of the People, For the Pople, By the People. They think the government is really working in their best interest, many because of this doctrine. They don't trust corporations because they are there to make a buck off of you. I wish they would realize that all the Senators and Congressmen and other beaurocrats are the same people sitting on the board at these ubuer-companies. Why would they need a kickback or bribe when they can legislate to require that which only there company can afford to bid low on? The really bad thing is, if people didn't trust either one with the same degree, their only alternative source of hope would be organized religion. We all know where that road takes up.

Well, this is more of an opinion than fact, but a few states, including my own have declared that mooning is not considered indecent exposure. Some judge makes this simple descision only to have it reversed by someone in a higher court who has religiously backed 'morals'. Many rulings get overturned based on one persons FUNDamentalism. Another example; most of the people in my state want a lottery. The religious right doesn't, saying it's a sin. And the last thing we want is someone sinning against, uh, themselves. Of course this is just me bitching about the fundies again. Sorry for wasting your time.
